I really appreciate how you broke this down into a flow chart. I'm trying to learn which pays first. For example: employee-sponsored retirement plan, spouses employer-sponsored large group plan, cancer policy, Medicare, Medicaid, Medigap...

This is great Information. I appreciate the graph and the explanation. This was very helpful in understanding what is going on. The American health system is strictly setup to screw over the consumer. That part I was having a hard time in understanding. I don't like surprise bills but it seems that this system is designed to do exactly that.

Love the flow chart. Is it possible you can do a example? Say someone is treated with a medical instrument or such and how that procedure or medical device is reimubursed.

depends on the ins if the pt has an HMO then the pt will get an authorization from his or her insurance company for example (apple care or blue cross) then the ins sends the auth to the Durable medical company and if the patient doesn’t have a secondary ins then there’s a possibility the pt may have to pay a 20% co pay because the primary ins only covers 80% . but if pt has PPO then the medical instrument is 100% covered by the ins

So what value add to the process/patient care do the clearing house ad besides taking a chunk of money out of the system. This is over complicated for no reason other than to transfer money out of the medical system to third parties that add nothing to the system
