I think the most important reason is simply if you wish to go to college it allows you to build a foundation for how classes are going to be structured, get exposed to content delivery. You learn how to study for the type of class and you begin to see the overlap of various classes and subjects. However, my personal favorite is the credit you get to take with you to college. While some accept more than others, it is always good to know that if you pass an AP exam you won't have to take the course later on, especially if you end up dreading a course.
The only thing that really turns me away from AP courses is the corporate greed associated with them. College Board is an absolute shitshow of a company and they REALLY need someone else to offer real competition to the AP program and put them in their place. The idea of introductory college courses in high school is good, but im not comfortable with paying a very blatantly for-profit company for a credit im not even guaranteed to receive. Thats why I always choose dual credit courses over their AP equivalents whenever possible.
I took regular physics last year and I decided to do chemistry this year instead of doing AP physics. I want to do ap physics though. What are your thoughts on self-study AP physics 1?

I’m taking 5 APs. 🥳
So am I, and it sucks
What are they?
@@Danilio. We won’t talk about them… 😐
@@didacusa3293 Why not?
Can you do AP vs IB?
@@account27721 We intend to once we gather more information about the IB program

also for ap physics 2, would i need to take ap physics 1 first?
@@Alice3-kv1vz I would recommend doing AP Physics 1 before AP Physics 2. Also, I believe self-studying both is very much possible
i think you should take ib classes instead
+ if you make a video explaining why ap is better than ib i will sub to you :-)
@@franklin3385 hopefully in the future we will
Hey I remember you from my childhood
A lot of places don’t offer them
