@charlestonjew7587 also true but you can also argue that innocents were already being killed and imprisoned from the undercity before jinx upended the status quo, for me it's why the show is so great, the grey area, the coin flip of terrorist/revolutionary, if she is responsible for people that die to to increased conflict (even though ambessa can be laid at just as much fault if not more for deliberately aggravating the issue and manipulating pilltover into it) is jinx also responsible if over the course of the next decades people from pullover and zaun live better lives and thrive because the status quo was upended? Where do you draw the line, it's interesting

Eh, possibly. Or she's just interpreting Jinx's self-destructive tendencies from the previous arc, without Jinx's (limited) control of those tendencies. Or perhaps the point is that it's often difficult to tell the difference between those two things.
20:14 My very favorite moment in this whole episode: it's blink-and-you-miss-it, but when Isha unleashes her triple-Hextech blast, Vi puts herself between Jinx and the blast and shields Jinx with her body to protect her.
Isha helped Jinx to rediscover her humanity, kickstarted a revolution, jumped on Rictus's shoulders and preceded to rock in the face, aided in the recovery of a werewolf, and then finally sacrificed herself to protect her family. Isha was a legend!
22:30 - I think it's even worse than that. Viktor wasn't simply a life support system, because the people in that community did not need life support. Yes they were sick, addicted to shimmer, paralyzed, or just sick from the air, from the malnourishment, etc. So they weren't thriving before. But Viktor's help basically put them on life support, and the consciousness swapping we see with Salo, makes it even creepier. They were basically dead at that point. I think they showed that very well in the previous episode. Where Jayce and Salo are talking and we can see Jayce's breath as he is talking and breathing, but there's nothing from Salo. Like he's so cold and lifeless because of Viktor's "healing", his breath is not hot enough to be visible in the cold air.
*"That which inspires us to our greatest good is also the cause of our greatest evil"* and with this Viktor defines this story in the most accurate and tragic way imaginable. Arcane is a beautiful Masterpiece of a show.
My main takeaway from the reveal of Singed's daughter is that Caitlyn witnesses an example of a person, originally from Piltover rather than Zaun, going to extreme and horrifying lengths to "save" someone they love. All the while Caitlyn had been taking extreme measures to capture/kill Jinx, through the suppression of Zaun, to avenger her mother. "why does anyone commit acts other would deem unspeakable.. for love" Caitlyn called him a monster, while Singed in a way called her out by saying "you're no better than me", at least in terms of her recent actions. Another nudge for Caitlyn to realizing she's taken a regrettable path.
This will sound weird, but Isha really pulled Powder out of Jinx; even if it was just a little bit. With all the chaotic voices that Jinx hears in her head, they are all silenced by a character that is silent.
OMG THANK YOU! Someone finally understanding that Viktors community was objectively not living! Thank you so much for not immediately jumping to hate Jayce!
I'm really not sure why anyone would. The Hexcore is evil, and has been all along. Heimerdinger recognized it right away, and Viktor got there in the end last season. Even in episode 2 of this season he called it evil and said Jayce was supposed to destroy it. To switch around and start using its power to 'heal' at the guidance of a 'ghost' of a person that the Hexcore had murdered? Nah, nothing suspicious about that. :)
@@gork8468 I don't think it's that simple. I do believe that ghost really was her, not the hexcore manipulating Viktor. The problem is neither she nor Viktor could see the longterm consequences of their actions.
@@gork8468 I mean tbf I feel like a lot of the jump to hate Jayce was fueled by 2 factors; 1. Their love for Viktor and understandable heartbreak at his death and 2. I don't know how well it was communicated that Jayce didn't go off the deep end, he saw what was coming, I feel like the people who got mad at him didn't pick up on that until episode 7 and some still didn't get it til the very end.
About your recap at the beginning, of Jinx asking for Vi's help: I really liked the Gloria Dow interpretation. That Jinx wasn't really asking for Vi's help, but rather offering it to her. Vi was at her lowest and Jinx had been watching her sink deeper (and she's looked up to this person, her entire childhood) but she knew giving her older sister sympathy would be taken as taking pity on her (ie, Violet pushing away Loris, the only friend she'd had during this time in her life). So instead, Jinx asks for help, to pull her sister out of the pit, because that's just the kind of person Vi is.
I love that Warwick appears, you can hear Vander's motiff, the same that appeared in episode 3 of S1, when he appeared out of the smoke with the hooks as metal knuckles to fight against Silco's goons.
Ambessa's speech in the beginning highlights a difference between herself and our heroes. She believes in the strength of the individual, but we see all four principles of strength in them: Caitlyn's vision, Vi's might, Jinx's guile, and Isha's sacrifice.
Cait's turn back definitely had been in the works even prior to seeing Vi. She was working with Ambessa out of her initial anger and desire for revenge, but clearly was pushing back on their methods on a number of occasions (particularly as Singed got involved)
Yeah, we time skipped over the "Obsessed Dictator Caitlyn" phase and jumped straight to the "I'm tired of vengeance and just want it to be over" phase. By this point Caitlyn's main motivation for finding Jinx is to get rid of Ambessa, because the hunt for Jinx is Ambessa's justification for entrenching herself in Piltover.
Jinx’s pose in the opening credits draws heavily from the painting of Marianne, figurehead of the French Revolution. Appropriate parallel to Jinx inspiring the Zaun uprising.
6:17 Fun fact.... Those glowing green runes Ambessa and her second-in-command use are actually an item from the game.... they're called Kaenic Rookern.
There could be several items that are overlooked that appear in game. Jinx's revolver, for example, looks a little like Ludens Companion @@LegitLord2000
@@LegitLord2000 that one is definitely not the case. They look completely different, work completely different and have origins that's very hard to reconcile with the info we have.
10:30 To go from Ep. 3 and having Jinx angrily retort "We?" when Vi uses the word to refer to her and the special forces team, to now Jinx/Powder asking "We?" when Vi uses the word to refer to the idea of them both staying at the cult. @@mimic1984 They don't understand because that's an extremely emotionally immature reaction. That's a clear sign that someone is not a fully functioning adult. I didn't really cry when it happened. It wasn't until two days later when I was rewatching Episode 4 that it really hit me and I cried. I don't cry when I think about it, but I can't listen to Isha's song without ugly crying.
This was my initial response to episode 6: If you'll excuse me I'm just gonna...I'm just gonna...*walks over to the far dark corner of the room and gets in a fetal position, bawling eyes out.*
Cait has been second guessing her direction for the last few episodes. Seeing Vi and hearing the truth about what was going on with Warwick gave her the final push. Also impressive that Isha was able to move so fast with her carrying a giant "I'm about to die" banner. :p
The children's story book animation in this one killed me. Especially the scenes with Jinx and Isha. The little snippet of Isha idly fiddling with Jinx's braid broke me.
By the way the scene of Vanders memories painted with digital watercolours was animated by Éléa Gobbé-Mévellec who made a film "Swallows of Kabul" that has won or was nominated for several awards.
I think the first thing Caitlyn would have said after Vi mentioned Vander would have been "What do you mean?" At that point a quick synopsis of the situation by Vi would happen, and then the quick plan of action that we saw in the flashback
🎉 Another great reaction video! I agree with you that this show is worth every penny they paid to make it, as well as is your reaction videos 😃 I really enjoyed your commentary throughout the video, and your conclusion at the end. I liked the comment you made about how the watercolor animation was perfect for memories. And we got to hear more of your beautiful singing! 😊 There certainly was a lot to react to, and this episode definitely had a powerful ending. However, I’m wondering about what the significance was when Viktor & Sky spoke about there being another will at work within Jayce… ancient… like they have never seen 🤔 Thank you for sharing your reaction, and can’t wait to see your next reaction video for this series! 😃
the painting art style used during the flashback of Vi & Powder's parents before they were killed was a perfect touch especially with the musical score
To cope with the insane heartbreak I would like to point out how good the opening credits are. Every charcter is framed in referrence to a famus tragedy. Caitlyn is the scottish play, Ambessa and Mel are Julius Caesar, Jinx is Les Mis, Viktor is the Phantom of the opera. Ekko is the one I can't place. Seems like Billy Elliot but thats not really a tragedy, so maybe someone can help me with this? Anyway, as a theatre kid I feel seen and happy.
I do appreciate how this show uses reversals of fortune and complications to explore the shifting of friends to enemies, and sometimes back to friends again. A good show can keep you guessing without feeling arbitrary about it.
This episode really solidifies Caitlyn's struggle. She already was talking back towards Ambessa a few times (why is violence always the justification for peace) and seeing Vi (and especially, hearing her still call her cupcake despite what she had done) "snapped her out of it" as it were. She's been looking for an out for quite a while and Vi gave it to her. Also her folding like a paper bag when Vi called her cupcake is one of my favorite details this episode, as well as her wiping Vi's spit towards her mouth, we know what you are Caitlyn Freaky Kiramman
It's also worth mentioning that she had just got to know Singed enough to see that she was on the same path as him. The "monster" was just a respected piltovian who did unspeakable things because of the loss of a loved one.
The underground/undercity/fissures are not literally under the ground, they are at the bottom of deep canyons/trenches, where light is scarce, and with the industrial air pollution, what little light gets down there is mostly blocked.
I was really touched when you said how Jinx thinks that she’s a jinx, but you reframed it as everyone that knows her is willing to do anything for her. So true, so sad
7:23 Well...if you notice the man who was checking them in used to be the anxious guy at the beginning of the series with the glasses. He knew Vander. After being healed not only is he physically different but mentally he seems different. The same with Salo. They no longer are to a degree mentally their old selves. 15:40 They (the commune) are all connected to the Hexcore and Viktor so yeah.. 16:49 Also me 18:11 Yeah ..."die" as they are connected - almost line a hive mind 21:33 The main difference is that they are stable versions unlike the one Jinx used when she was younger so it will cause damage...jsur not as wide spread. :( 22:51 Not only did him disconnecting to Vander throw Vander out of wack but if you rewatch you see a certain mad scientist leave the commune...he put the syrum in Vander to make him worse 25:02 Isha didn't care whether she called or saw herself more as Jinx or Powder. She loved everything about her for all of who she was as a person. She saw her as a hero and a brave person who went in g#ns blazing
Caitlyn was already looking for a way out from under Ambessa's influence. She knew that Ambessa's entourage was violent, even potentially murderous. She was not down with having Singed along, she wanted him in prison, but Ambessa superceded her wishes. Vi provided Caitlyn a way to escape from Ambessa, and help Vi with her father (extra motivation). Caitlyn's whole arc this season has been to neutralize the threat from Zaun as quickly as possible (recall her three step plan), with as little lethal force used as possible.
I was so devastated by Isha's fate at the end of this episode that I was in denial for the entire week while waiting for the last three episodes to drop. It was excruciating.
i viewed isha taking the hextech orbs as more of a security thing over a sneaky thing, she's seen jinx disable her gun by taking them out before and ,to be fair, vi is kinda careless with the gauntlets. i also love how jinx is more stable now and more sarcastic towards everyone.
I feel like so many people miss that Viktor's last statement is him deciding humanity is the problem, and his solution is to forgo humanity altogether.
Great react, Just one detail from this episode, it's Singed who makes Warwick go out of control, Caitalyn knocks him out, but he wakes up and takes advantage of being alone with Warwick to inject what he wanted from the beginning, because everyone was distracted watching people dying.

There have been a ton of really great break downs on this but one of them pointed out that Isha, as a deaf character, has no external context for Jinx's identity beyond what she directly experiences: Protective of her, giving her companionship, beautiful, strong. For Isha she's the hero that Jinx can't let herself be in her own mind. So not only is she a hero to Isha, but in pursuing her as idol Isha reflects what Powder would be if everything had gone right. Her first monkeybomb works, as does the parachute bombs at the checkpoint. She's introduced as boldly taking action instead of left behind and self-doubting. Isha overloads the gun like Powder underestimated the bomb, but where Powder was thrown from the explosion and lived causing death, Isha dies protecting Jinx and causes life. Beyond just mirrors, when together both of the characters see in the other a "better" version of themselves.
Caitlyn’s heal turn is certainly interesting. I wish they had done more with Caitlyn being a dictator. And i wish they did more to show why she chose vi. They could’ve had a nice bonding moment over lost family.
This episode destroyed me. For a full week. I was actually afraid to start the last three episodes when they came out because Isha hurt me in ways I was genuinely surprised were still possible. Then I got into a fight with a friend, who was pissed because she said Isha as a character was cheaply done emotional exploitation...
Important: the most basic instinct in life is self preservation, it needs a HUGE resolve to overcome it The first moment we knew the Hexcore was alive was when Viktor tried to destroy it and we can see it slowly backing away, in fear Salo and Huck never showed this instinct, in fact they were completely ignorant to their surroundings to the point that Salo heard a quite obvious threat of violence from Jayce and just casually turned his back to him and Huck not even flinched in face of threats from Jinx and Rictus, the most trigger happy characters in all of the series On top of that, the hexgate chambers are really cold, to the point every character we see there (Jayce, Ekko, Heimer) has their breath visible Every character except Salo, we've never seen salo breathing at all in the chambers, an evidence that none of them were themselves anymore, none of them were alive The core convinced Viktor he was healing people just to consume them and turn them into puppets

nice of arcane to allow vi .5 seconds of happiness before The Horrors. and man that's a pretty high cost for jinx to finally understand her big sister actions and drive.
I think Cait's scenes with Singed in episode 5 are more important to her choices this episode than people give them credit for At the start of that episode, she was furious. She thought he was an accomplice of Jinx and that he was one of the "perverse abominations" she keeps seeing Zaun produce that end up recklessly killing dozens and dozens of people from Piltover, and she believed that he was an enemy she was standing up against alongside Ambessa, someone she doesn't really like or agree with but who has been a loyal ally up to this point But then, instead of just accepting those assumptions as truth, Caitlyn decides to play detective and what does she discover? Ambessa has been going behind her back all this time to make deals with sketchy scientists, and Singed... isn't even from Zaun! He's a Piltovan! Who has been using the innocent people of the undercity as subjects in his horrible experiments for years! Even Shimmer was a creation he unleashed on them, rather than something made by the people of Zaun themselves. She's being forced to question everything she thought she knew about the conflict between the two cities And then he explains that all the horrible things he's putting the innocent people of the undercity through were done out of a twisted feeling of love for a deceased family member... just like her this season. And she realizes this is who she could become if she stays on her current path I think Cait was ready to jump ship this entire episode. I mean, literally one of the first things we see her do is furiously try to stab Ambessa in the back during their training session. She just thought the beast they were hunting had to be taken care of first, and she needed Ambessa and Singed to bring it down. Right up until her encounter with Vi, where she learned the truth and knew there was no way she was letting Singed get his hands on this innocent victim again, ESPECIALLY since it was Vi's father
Having already watched Arcane to the end, and seeing how others are reacting to it, I've learned something: there are, essentially, two ways to watch this show. There is the technical way: lore-intense, analytical, "does this make sense". And there is the emotional way: primarily viewing everything presented by how it evokes feelings. The differences are very pronounced in the reception of the show. Clearly, you're an emotional viewer, and I tend to lean that way as well. And this show... oh, boy, this show... just has our feelings whipsawing from one extreme to the other. Personally, I'd rather have a show that plays fast and loose with "lore", so long as it moves me, and Arcane delivers in spades.
Vander's still in there, but he's been buried under Warwick once more. Farewell, Isha; three hexcores, again. Victor hasn't been just a physical being for a while. I figure Sky transmuted completely as her physical form was destroyed, but Viktor is more complicated. Looking forward to you seeing where our missing boys have been...
Okay, but, with Hindsight... _why_ exactly did Jayce shoot Victor here? Like, did he think he could kill him right here and now and just make that future not ome true at all? Because in a way, isn't this what starts Victor on his "Glorious Evolution" Path? Before this, he seemed genuinly content to help people and even was _thi_ close to getting Vander back. And I am aware that his commune people are clearly already altered in a way, but... still. _This_ seems like it would have been an okay option to go with, since the people that come here seem to still posess a modicum of willpower _and_ have chosen to come here. But with this action, Jayce -kills Vander -empowers Ambessa -gives Victor reason to go beyond what he had been doing before -spirals Jinx -kills Isha And I know he doesn't really know about Vander, Isha, Jinx or Vi right now, but still. Feels like a bit of a hasty plan here...

I so love the visuales of Vander captured in his own body and mind..so well done ❤
*"That which inspires us to our greatest good is also the cause of our greatest evil"*
and with this Viktor defines this story in the most accurate and tragic way imaginable. Arcane is a beautiful Masterpiece of a show.
Almost every single amazing quote from Arcane is said by Viktor.
Poor Vander..... That's the SECOND time he got got by the 3 hex-crystal special at the hands of a little blue-haired girl.
"why does anyone commit acts other would deem unspeakable.. for love"
Caitlyn called him a monster, while Singed in a way called her out by saying "you're no better than me", at least in terms of her recent actions. Another nudge for Caitlyn to realizing she's taken a regrettable path.
"Everyone who had power isn't innocent."
This will sound weird, but Isha really pulled Powder out of Jinx; even if it was just a little bit.
With all the chaotic voices that Jinx hears in her head, they are all silenced by a character that is silent.
love the content sis, I was crying my eyes out last episode. I loved the family lore of Vi & Jinx/Powder
Viktor does get the best line drops.
Singed: Hold my beer.
Nah bruh, Singed barely gets any lines throughout the show but every time he speaks it's straight magic
No way really 🤣 Someone said Mel’s necklace is Locket of Iron Solari but idk about that one
I love it when the writers reuse lines to mean different things as the characters develop.
Jinx is the character that I have a soft spot for 💙
Forever
LOVE your reactions. I cry along with you. Strap in for the rest. 😢
My work performance during the week after this episode was so, SO poor. I kept bursting into tears randomly. Now Isha is on my desktop background.
Most of the coworkers and most bosses wouldn't understand...WILL never understand the pain...
Right? Almost 2 weeks later and I'm morose daily when i think about that scene
It's been weeks and I have yet to get over episode 7. I can't listen to that damned song without choking up.
@@mimic1984 They don't understand because that's an extremely emotionally immature reaction. That's a clear sign that someone is not a fully functioning adult. That's the kind of reaction it's ok to have when your MOM dies, not when a fictional character does. It's not ok to react to fiction just as strongly as you react to the real world.
I didn't really cry when it happened. It wasn't until two days later when I was rewatching Episode 4 that it really hit me and I cried. I don't cry when I think about it, but I can't listen to Isha's song without ugly crying.
This was my initial response to episode 6:
If you'll excuse me I'm just gonna...I'm just gonna...*walks over to the far dark corner of the room and gets in a fetal position, bawling eyes out.*
8:40 Viktor got annoyed with Jinx's bullshit and decides to drop the Powder with the hard r 😂
Real 'bitch please' energy
Not the dead-naming😮😂
Victor wisdom is endless
Interesting fact: the name “Isha” means “protector.”
Protector and strength, but both meanings also have a distinct exclusive Femininity. Momma Bear Energy, without the animalistic symbology.
The minute it started going I was like... oh fuck me.
Telegraphed punch to the gut, but it absolutely wrecks me every f'in time.
Also fun fact: Jinx's voice actress is actually British and her co-stars wouldn't believe her apparently because her voice is so distinct as Jinx
By the way the scene of Vanders memories painted with digital watercolours was animated by Éléa Gobbé-Mévellec who made a film "Swallows of Kabul" that has won or was nominated for several awards.
Wow... they really lured me into the unmarked van with this one...
There's no puppy.
Probably the best music choice I’ve ever heard for a scene in anything and I don’t even speak Chinese. It’s so amazing
That's a good observation. "That's not really Evolution, that's just stasis." 😏
Angela : "the last episode was emotional".
Me : funny you mentioned that
NOOO ISHAAA I'm still crying so much 😭😭
almost 3 weeks later and it still hurts
2 VIDEO IN 1 DAY!? damn, it realy is christmas, thank you santa
I do appreciate how this show uses reversals of fortune and complications to explore the shifting of friends to enemies, and sometimes back to friends again. A good show can keep you guessing without feeling arbitrary about it.
And now ep 7, my favorite of the season (maybe of the series) is on it's way. Can't wait for the reaction!
Oh my, she started with saying the episode 5 was emotional, I can’t wait to I reach towards the end of this episode for her reaction 😄
So yea, about episode 5 being emotional...
7 was the one that hit me the hardest
@@funnylilgalreactssame

The underground/undercity/fissures are not literally under the ground, they are at the bottom of deep canyons/trenches, where light is scarce, and with the industrial air pollution, what little light gets down there is mostly blocked.
I was really touched when you said how Jinx thinks that she’s a jinx, but you reframed it as everyone that knows her is willing to do anything for her. So true, so sad
Broken heart for Isha and Vander 💔
Keep Ambessa's monologue from the start of this episode in mind during the finale. Because in hindsight, it's obvious that Caitlyn was listening.
Her: “Viktor is one of those people I have a soft spot for.”
Me: “shit…” haha
7:23 Well...if you notice the man who was checking them in used to be the anxious guy at the beginning of the series with the glasses. He knew Vander. After being healed not only is he physically different but mentally he seems different. The same with Salo. They no longer are to a degree mentally their old selves.
15:40 They (the commune) are all connected to the Hexcore and Viktor so yeah..
16:49 Also me
18:11 Yeah ..."die" as they are connected - almost line a hive mind
21:33 The main difference is that they are stable versions unlike the one Jinx used when she was younger so it will cause damage...jsur not as wide spread. :(
22:51 Not only did him disconnecting to Vander throw Vander out of wack but if you rewatch you see a certain mad scientist leave the commune...he put the syrum in Vander to make him worse
25:02 Isha didn't care whether she called or saw herself more as Jinx or Powder. She loved everything about her for all of who she was as a person. She saw her as a hero and a brave person who went in g#ns blazing
I certainly love Jinx's braids but damn. It's the second time someone pinned her down becauce of them.
20:32 Absolute. Cinema. 🎉
"We can't have anything nice in this show." Yeah pretty much sums it up 😭
Caitlyn was already looking for a way out from under Ambessa's influence.
With Isha making that "poof" she shot my heart to a thousand pieces. Cried my guts out.
I was so devastated by Isha's fate at the end of this episode that I was in denial for the entire week while waiting for the last three episodes to drop. It was excruciating.
I often cry at shows.
This episode I cried so hard I had a headache, which is a first for me.
Caitlyn: Don't forget to spit on my face. It's the only way to convince Ambessa we hate each other. Trust me.
i viewed isha taking the hextech orbs as more of a security thing over a sneaky thing, she's seen jinx disable her gun by taking them out before and ,to be fair, vi is kinda careless with the gauntlets. i also love how jinx is more stable now and more sarcastic towards everyone.
Episode 8 invalidates this theory, as we see Singed still has the exact same serum he intended to use there.
Been waiting for this one...and also worried for you...

-Season 2 Episode 6 Isha's Song Lyrics Translation (Vocals by Eason Chen):
Child, don't be afraid of the thorns
With your barefoot
You can find the essence of the world
You see, the sky is turning grey
How stunning the firework was
No need for too much sorrow
It's human nature, blossom and withered
Yet, even stubborn rocks and barriers
Bloom with flowers
Push aside the mountains
Let her sees me
Tell those stars
To shine onto me
Blow away the dark clouds
With that blue in my heart
Even if the world is full of desolation
We can lift our heads up and see the moon
When we are still in the guise of children
As one among millions, still must blossom into a solitary and splendid flower
Don't wander in troubles anymore
Don't forget
Even if tears flow, keep running forward
Run until even time cannot be found
Be a carefree flying bird
Push aside the mountains
Let her sees me
Tell those stars
To shine onto me
Blow away the dark clouds
With that blue in my heart
Even if the world is full of desolation
We can lift our heads up and see the moon
When we are still in the guise of children
As one among millions, still must blossom into a solitary and splendid flower
Don't wander in troubles anymore
Don't forget
Even if tears flow, keep running forward
Run until even time cannot be found
Be a carefree flying bird
Stop searching
Give me a hug
Just quietly forget
I'm fine the way I am
-It's either these Lyrics or these:
Children, don't be afraid of thorns and bare feet
You can find precious things
Look at this sky How beautiful are the black fireworks
No need for too much sadness
People are flourishing and withering
But the stubborn rocks and barriers are also blooming
Clear the mountains
Let her look at me
Tell the stars
Light me up quickly
Blow away the dark clouds
Use a touch of blue
Then the world is full We are desolate
You can see the moon when you raise your head
When we are still children
Be a lonely fragrance that will bloom even though there are thousands of people
Don’t be sad anymore Annoyance
Don’t forget
Even if you shed tears, you have to keep running
You can’t even find the time when you run
Be a bird in the sky
Clear the mountains
Let her see me
Tell the stars
Light me up quickly
Blow away the dark clouds
Use a touch of blue
Forget it The world is full of desolation. We
When we raise our heads, we can see the moon
When we were still children
To be a lonely fragrance that blooms even though there are thousands of people
Don’t No matter how sad or troubled you are
Don’t forget
Even if you shed tears, you have to keep running
You can’t even find the time when you run
Be a bird in the sky
💜
These writers just love pain.
The emotional impact of losing Isha ranks up there for me with the Red Wedding in GOT and Opie in Sons of Anarchy. Just devastatingly good
It snuck up on me, but Isha became my favorite character and I realized it right at the end of this episode. This one really hurt my feelings 😭
Bravo.
that necklace you're wearing, is it from star wars?
This episode destroyed me. For a full week. I was actually afraid to start the last three episodes when they came out because Isha hurt me in ways I was genuinely surprised were still possible. Then I got into a fight with a friend, who was pissed because she said Isha as a character was cheaply done emotional exploitation...
Your friend sounds stupid lol, Isha is literally someone who "grounds" Jinx and isn't just there to die. She helps Jinx grow as a person.
I hope you and your friend are able to reconcile more easily than Jayce and Viktor.
Important: the most basic instinct in life is self preservation, it needs a HUGE resolve to overcome it
The first moment we knew the Hexcore was alive was when Viktor tried to destroy it and we can see it slowly backing away, in fear
Salo and Huck never showed this instinct, in fact they were completely ignorant to their surroundings to the point that Salo heard a quite obvious threat of violence from Jayce and just casually turned his back to him and Huck not even flinched in face of threats from Jinx and Rictus, the most trigger happy characters in all of the series
On top of that, the hexgate chambers are really cold, to the point every character we see there (Jayce, Ekko, Heimer) has their breath visible
Every character except Salo, we've never seen salo breathing at all in the chambers, an evidence that none of them were themselves anymore, none of them were alive
The core convinced Viktor he was healing people just to consume them and turn them into puppets

nice of arcane to allow vi .5 seconds of happiness before The Horrors.
and man that's a pretty high cost for jinx to finally understand her big sister actions and drive.
I think Cait's scenes with Singed in episode 5 are more important to her choices this episode than people give them credit for
At the start of that episode, she was furious. She thought he was an accomplice of Jinx and that he was one of the "perverse abominations" she keeps seeing Zaun produce that end up recklessly killing dozens and dozens of people from Piltover, and she believed that he was an enemy she was standing up against alongside Ambessa, someone she doesn't really like or agree with but who has been a loyal ally up to this point
But then, instead of just accepting those assumptions as truth, Caitlyn decides to play detective and what does she discover? Ambessa has been going behind her back all this time to make deals with sketchy scientists, and Singed... isn't even from Zaun! He's a Piltovan! Who has been using the innocent people of the undercity as subjects in his horrible experiments for years! Even Shimmer was a creation he unleashed on them, rather than something made by the people of Zaun themselves. She's being forced to question everything she thought she knew about the conflict between the two cities
And then he explains that all the horrible things he's putting the innocent people of the undercity through were done out of a twisted feeling of love for a deceased family member... just like her this season. And she realizes this is who she could become if she stays on her current path
I think Cait was ready to jump ship this entire episode.
LAST OF US, FALLOUT, ARCANE: 'Wow, video game adaptations are finally getting it right!'
BORDERLANDS: 'Well, fuck.'
Never forget that Arcane is a wonderful beautiful show that exists solely to hurt you.
This episode hurt me so bad
But with this action, Jayce
-kills Vander
-empowers Ambessa
-gives Victor reason to go beyond what he had been doing before
-spirals Jinx
-kills Isha
And I know he doesn't really know about Vander, Isha, Jinx or Vi right now, but still. Feels like a bit of a hasty plan here...
Awww you cut out Viktor's iconic "Glorious Evolution" line form the reaction :( It's a classic line from the game character.
👍🏾
And this is why this show should really be retitled Arc-PAIN!! 😭😭😭😭
