Oh, and another thing. Unless they break all current lore, Heimerdinger is not dead either. His race are basicly immortal and when they die, they go back to their home city.
@@mcfearsun assuming they dont change the lore, he is not dead and is in a city where heimers race are from since they are technically a spirits which makes them immortal
Shout out to Steb (the fish-like Enforcer) who never gets addressed by his name, and never speaks, but is the absolute hero at every juncture of every event he's part of.
An interesting tidbit from the beginning. Initially Jinx was pulling the grenade even when Ekko was there because she probably thought he was another hallucination, like Silco in episode 8. Once his actions indicated he was real, Jinx switched to jumping since that wouldn't harm Ekko.
@@chihiro14 No, she called him the "Boy Saviour" then, she knew he was real there. It's sort of implied that Ekko's tried to get through to Jinx before and failed, which is why he thinks she can't be saved in S1. Blowing him up on the bridge was the last time Jinx saw Ekko, so it's fair that she thinks seeing him, pleading with her to not do go through with it, is the "good angel" in her mind.
In the words of the immitable bard/scientist/councillor Heimmerdinger: And if you loved the journey more than the end, go ahead Just turn that hourglass around and count to ten This ain't goodbye no more it just began
I do love that the song fits so well with the idea of doing things again and seeing how they turn out. Or in a meta sense, watching the show again and noticing new details, or interpreting it differently. The entire show is a story about change, the present acting as a bridge between the past and the future, nothing being set in stone. The first season intro has all the characters carved from stone, but the second has them living and also removes *all* their identifiable marks and accessories to emphasize that they're just people.
If it makes you feel any better, Amanda Overton has now confirmed that Maddie was Noxian from the VERY BEGINNING!!! Ambessa had her in place as a sleeper agent long before anything in Season 1 happened. Maddie was never loyal to, or cared for, Cait. She was true to Ambessa all along.
Something I caught on a rewatch was in the first scene that Caitlyn and Maddie are together, Cait says she has a meeting in the morning and Maddie says "Let me guess, MORE complaints about the Noxians." That was what confirmed that she was a Noxian spy all along for me. But good to have the word of Amanda herself.
One thing I totally missed on first watch was that nail in the timer for that charge was not random. Maddie 100% sabotaged the timer when they were getting ready to assault Viktor's orb thing.
One thing I really enjoy about this series is Jayce's love for Viktor. It's so rare you get to see men just unabashedly care for each other. Tell your homies you love them, fellas.
I agree, then you have the shippers that try to make them lovers. Its a really good friendship and young boys need to see that and not be told that only lovers can have that bond.
The best moments in this series… were the hugs. So impactful. So needed in times like these. Appreciate every hug you can give to the ones you love. It’s what keeps your reality together.
"The Deciever" was probably a character called Leblanc, in League lore she's the leader of the Black Rose and known for illusion magic. The Black Rose is probably gonna be a part of whatever the next series after Arcane is, so I'm sure we'll find out more then.
I doubt Demacia will appear. I'm no lorehound, but I'm pretty sure Arcane is leading into the Noxian invasion of Ionia, Singed still owes his allegiance to Noxus (there's no indication that he's lying and they did give him what he wanted). That leads into the Noxian occupation of Ionia and the corresponding fallout. Demacia/Noxus conflicts occur after that if memory serves.
She used the black rose to stop her mom but then chose to try and rescue her from it because she still is her mom, and basically show her mom like “you see, i am strong enough and we could’ve defeated the black rose together, it didn’t have to be this way” kind of thing
She told her mom they would avenge Kino together but her mom wouldnt hear it. So she used her mom as bait to get to the Black Rose to avenge her brother.
@@enadegheeghaghe6369 Also that scene with Caitlyn viewing the Hexgate schematics and zooming in on some tunnels near where Jinx fell... what else could that scene mean?
@@ailidh-Bcn More like she sees blood dropping and him sitting down ponitng out he is not a hallucination. He was gone for a year with no trace, no wonder she was confused.
@@Zibi21 More specifically, she thinks *she* killed him. Jinx last saw Ekko when she blew him up, and wouldn't have had confirmation of his survival from anyone in the meantime. I believe Ekko states Powder is gone and can't be saved in S1 is because he tried and failed, so Ekko turning up at that point, Jinx absolutely is seeing him as the "good angel" talking her down in her mind.
This is it for this story in the Arcane Universe. There will be other stories in other regions of the world. And I am pretty sure this is not the last we will see of Jinx - so many hints that she survived.
@BOSHKOB No it is not confirmed, and the supposed 'hints' about her being alive are not only insufficient, but straight up nonsense full of contradictions. Plus, Jinx's character would still dead even if she had survived the explosion. The story of Arcane is over because Jinx is dead. Period.
@@SaguntoYT The purple streak, Caitlyn analyzing the Hexgate's tunnels AFTER the battle, then ending the whole series with an Airship, reminding us of Powder's first line of wanting to fly on one? Not only that but even using Jinx' motif as the "The End" card? Pretty compelling. That's even disregard the creator's response when asked if Jinx is dead.
@@SaguntoYT the supposed hints are already sufficient tho, yes it is not confirmed that she survived NOR WAS IT EVER CONFIRMED THAT SHE DID DIE because they didnt have enough time to properly wrap things up while also teasing noxus as the next region of focus so that contradicts what you also believed ... the shimmer movement from the explosion which jinx always use whenever she is on a fast paced situation as well as cait looking on the hexgate blueprint seeing the airducts as possible route for escape is more than enough of a hint because if it wasnt then thats just plain stupid for the animators to add those details ...
6:04 Apparently the last episode was supposed to be like 1h 30min long but the animation studio said they couldn't do that. One of the cut scenes was an extended Ekko/Jinx conversation right here where he apparently tells her of alternate reality Powder and they paint each other (the outfits we see later on in this episode) when they were gearing up for the big fight to come.
I'm glad they cut that though. Sure it would be nice to see, but it would also completely undercut the surprise of when Jinx and Ekko do arrive as you'd just be waiting for them to turn up during the whole battle, but with how it was produced you've basically forgot about them which makes their actual arrival far more impactful imo.
@@nrgspike But it wasn't a surprise. Like come on...we could see that coming from miles away. It felt like a cheap cliffhanger that the undercity joins the fight later to save the day. Would have preferred a shot where they show ekko and jinx rallying the undercity forces to come help piltover. Would have felt better for me.
@@tvolz9749I prefer the way they did it, and it was a surprise for me on Jinx's arrival. It's smart that they don't have to show you everything like regular shows these days
First off, Caitlyn rocked that eye patch. Second, the airship at the end is the hint that Jinx may still be alive. If you're in a mood for a re-watch, watch S1, E1 and this episode again. It's a good refresher. There are multiple spinoffs coming. Vi and Jinx will be back for sure.
Not just the airship, but Caitlyn noticing the vent tunnels in the hexgate schematics, and of course the streak of pink that shoots out just before the explosion that "killed" Jinx and Warwick.
The last conversation with Silco He says killing is a cycle, the only way to break it is to leave it behind. Jinx thinks he means to kill herself, but he actually means just walk away.
I love the “4 seconds” call every time someone dies. The drawback with that is that Ekko is only human. While all of this is unfolding, he’s busy trying to talk Jinx down from the ledge someplace else, so he has no way of knowing that any of this even happened.
Remember when Ambessa and Cait were training? The lessons that Ambessa tried to teach Cait? Perception is your foundation. Might is important, but can leave you exposed. Guile is the territory of mages. Sacrifice heightens the others. In their final fight, Ambessa tries to overwhelm Caitlyn with might, leaving herself exposed. Caitlyn sacrifices her eye to give Mel the opening she needs to defeat her mother. Caitlyn was listening.
Dont worry, Jinx in the end faked her death and is on board of the flying ship...walking away, just like Silco said. Since Vi would never give up on Jinx and would keep up on chasing her, to stop the cycle she made herself disappear by faking her death, no more reason for chase, Vi can settle down and live her life.
It's heavily implied Jinx lived and decided to "Break the Cycle" by leaving since Vi would never give up on her. 1)If you slow down time, you can see a purple shimmer pattern before the bomb explodes 2)They show Caitlyn smirk as she is inspecting the ventilation schematics and that one lead out of the tower as you saw 3)They show a blimp flying away, just like in the opening when Powder says "I'm going to ride in one of those one day" and her signature scratches on the camera before the camera cuts away. Also just to let you know, the lead show runner did a two hour interview and he actually confirmed that Ekko told Jinx about the alternate universe, and secondly that Jinx told Ekko she was going to leave without telling Vi, if she had the chance. His card is actually for Heimdeinger.
There's no way she'd be able to stay anyway. She is still wanted for the murder of 6 enforcers at Progress Day, several more including the chief at the bridge, and three council members. They'd have to imprison her.
@@WhatTheHell116 While Cait let go of her hate for Jinx, there is still the Council as well as all of Piltover to contend with. Politics would not realistically allow them to pardon a known terrorist who killed six officers with a bomb and blew up the council with a missile, sparking the events that led to martial law. Jinx had no choice but to leave Piltover forever. And she knew that if Vi knew she was alive, she would either join her and be forever miserable thinking she abandoned Cait, or stay with Cait and be forever miserable, thinking she abandoned her sister.
@@dgmilloway During the aftermath of a war to that scale, plenty of people would have known Jinx was one of the ones that came in with a rally of troops to fend off Viktor and Noxus. they might not like it but they would understand pardoning her, Jinx also turned herself into the Enforcers in episode 6.
Your reactions have been an absolute joy to watch! Thank you so much!! When season 2 dropped, yours was one of the ones I was most looking forward to, and it definitely didn't disappoint! 😊 I am sure others have already mentioned, but Powder's first ever line in Arcane may be significant in that ending. And I have since been told of other clues hinting and things may not be as they seem~ :) The cycle has ended, but not necessarily in the way it appears! :)
This one makes me sob... -Season 2 Episode 9 Wasteland Lyrics (Vocals by Royal and the Serpent): [Verse 1] I've held on for as long as I can For the ones that I had to defend I've been strong every day of my life If she wants, death could take me this time [Chorus] This world is a wasteland where nothing can grow I used to have strength, but I ran out of hope I know it's my fault that I'm here all alone This world is a wasteland Please let me go, go, go, go, go, go, go [Verse 2] If I could just lay my head down and rest If there was nothing to fight or protect Maybe then I could finally be free Maybe death is like falling asleep [Chorus] This world is a wasteland whеre nothing can grow I used to have strеngth, but I ran out of hope I know it's my fault that I'm here all alone This world is a wasteland [Bridge] I'm not ready to face it Don't go saying "goodbye" There's a beauty in changes And I wanna try [Chorus] This world is a wasteland where nothing can grow If it weren't for you, I'd be here all alone I know in my heart this is where we belong This world is a wasteland Don't let me go, go, go, go, go, go, go Don't let me go 💜
I'm not sure if you recognized her or not, but the girl Vi was trying to save in the scene where she is running and carrying her across the walkway is Gert. The same girl who was the first one to touch Jinx's shoulder in Stillwater when Jinx went looking for Isha. She is also the same girl Mylo was trying to ask out in the alternate timeline with Ekko and Powder, and also the same girl who pushed the Enforcer guards hands away when she was boarding the train/airship but then was seen returning to volunteer.
It was a really nice touch to have many of the background soldiers pop up a few times throughout the season, because it can be very easy to have these big battle scenes full of faceless people dying, and have the cost be sort of abstract. Showing characters like Gert exist outside of the war first, and then decided that they're going to fight makes it so you can't just ignore when a soldier dies there.
"It is a very different world when you look towards the light". So very well said, Angela. You said so many beautiful and insightful things in this outro, but this one summed it all up perfectly.
I don't think Jinx is dead. Caitlin was looking at monkeybomb and the ducts below the tower at the end there and we had that final shot of the airship leaving. As Imaginary Silco said, the only way to end the cycle is to walk away.
24:34 - I think towards the end of episode 8 we see Singed take a sample of fluid from the cocoon. He probably used that to transform his daughter as seen there. But on a side note, Singed kept his eyes on the prize and never got tangled up in relationships and allegiances and was the only person who got everything he wanted without losing anything he cared about. Not only that, but everyone other than Caitlyn who knows what he did and could seek retribution are out of the picture.
Jinx survived, you just have to look carefully. 1- A purple line is seen moving rapidly just before the explosion and heading towards the wall 2- Catelyn has a piece of Jinx's device in her hand, it means that she went down (or that someone did) and found no trace of bodies (neither hers nor that of Warwick/Vander) which is why she looks at the plans and sections of the building, focusing on the ventilation ducts which are exactly at the point where the purple trail can be seen heading 3- The last shot is the same as the first episode when Powder says he would have liked to drive an airship like that, furthermore the final writing is in "Jinx style"
One subtle detail about the art is how Caitlyn was aged during the season. The mature, regal, woman in the end was clearly not the almost-girl we got to see in, say, episode 1x04, guarding her mother's tent.
Mel used her mom as bait to draw out LeBlanc so she could invade her “space” and ID her in order to hunt her down. Mel’s mom did end up dying but she died happy since she realized that her long term plan worked! (her plan to have a child with a mage and raise it to be a Medarda so her clan could resist the mages, which Mel proved that she was up to the task).
Me: [sits down with a coffee to watch an Arcane reaction video.] 30seconds in..... "I want them to have the most beautiful, perfect ending that they could possibly ask for" ... that... right there... was the moment that my monitor ended up covered and dripping with a full mouthful of coffee. 🤣😂
Episode 1: Protect Maddie at all costs! This sweet ginger is too precious for this world! Episode 3 at the final scene as Maddies beating her chest in the salute: Well, I'll give this girl the benefit of the doubt, she might just not know what she's cheering for. Episode 4 in the beginning scene between her and Caitlyn: Hmm...I wasn't mad at Maddie because of the situation, I was suspicious of her. I thought either she genuinely had feelings for Caitlyn that Caitlyn didn't have back, or she had some ulterior motives. Episode 9 as soon as the reveal happened: *slams fist into my bed* I KNEW IT!!! YOU *****! 💜
Also fun fact, since Arcane is set in league of legends lore. Heimdeinger can't technically die. Yordles are technically "immortal spirits" meaning they literally can't die lol. They just respawn in their homeland which is "Bandle City." Unless they are breaking and retconning their own universe rules
16:30 Regarding the Mel / Ambessa / Black Rose scene, my guess is as follows..... While Mel may be at odds with her mother, that didn't mean she was on the Black Rose's side or about to do their bidding by handing Ambessa over to them. After all, at the end of the day, they were the ones ultimately responsible for killing her brother, Kino.
Agree. When I first saw that scene, I didn’t think killing Ambessa was anywhere near Mel’s intention. Despite what the majority believe, it seemed more like she was following through on what she had proposed earlier-taking down the Black Rose together. However, she did so without Ambessa’s permission, effectively using her as bait. Given how resilient Ambessa is, Mel likely hoped she’d survive long enough for her to handle the Deceiver.
@@auric180 Not so sure about killing Ambessa not being Mel's intention. I think the situation is such that Mel knew her mother needed to be defeated. She would have preferred Ambessa be taken alive but at the same time, she was prepared to kill her mother if she had to; especially since she knows how unyielding her mother was. As such, for Mel's part, killing Ambessa was a regrettable outcome; but one she had been prepared and willing to do out of necessity. Her expression at the end, when she held Ambessa, was - at least, to me - less of "what have I done?" and more "why couldn't you just stop?".
@@evilwelshman agreed, everything to me implies Mel killed Ambessa. Throughout the series Ambessa never believes that there is a "wolf" within Mel. Ambessa's intro in s1 was her teaching Mel that wolves show no mercy. There was also a scene in a previous s2 episode where Ambessa is hyping the importance of sacrifice. By killing Ambessa, Mel showed she truly was a wolf not only by her strength but also in her willingness to sacrifice her mother to win. Ambessa wouldn't have called her a wolf otherwise.
Yeah, my read on the end is that Jinx is definitely alive. She faked her death out of love for Vi, because she knows now that Vi will never give up on her. She'll spend her entire life following Jinx around and feeling responsible for her well-being, her mental recovery, all her choices, etc etc, and Jinx doesn't want that for her Especially because Jinx knows that, realistically, if she herself is ever going to heal and find a way to be happy again, she needs to leave the city and start over new somewhere else. Believing she has died might hurt Vi for now, but in the long run, the happiest life Jinx can give her sister is back in Piltover with Cait, and that can only happen if Jinx is "dead"
I'm still not sure if I want Jinx to have survived, but either way, the idea that Jayce and Victor are brothers to the point that it literally holds the world together, while Vi and Jinx have so much baggage that they simply can't be near each other... That's so painful.
As someone who lost his sister this is not necessarily true. There is no happier life when your sibling dies. You'll always mourn them, and in Vi's case she will forever feel responsible for not doing more to save her because that's the kind of person she is.
@@ultmotive She would feel the same pain as what Jinx felt with Vander. Beign blamed for the death. Still she would have no more reason to run around, poison people just to find her sister.
It’s been a pleasure to take this wild ride with you. It’s been an emotional, 3 year journey. Easily the best piece of media to date, bar none. If you’re looking for another anime/show to watch, check out Frieren:Beyond Journey’s End. It should be right up your alley and a nice change of pace.
That one person who we see die in vi's arms worked for vander and silco at the bar and in a band in the alternate universe. In this universe she lived in the slums and was likely apart of one of the gangs, she also has a husband and child
I'm not ready to say goodbye...goodbye goodbye...goodbye goodbye...ohhh. I absolutely applaud you Riot, Fortiche, Christian Linke, the entire crew. You people have made cinematic history that will be remembered until the end of time. I will wait anxiously for the next piece of art these guys come out with...however long that takes...I'll be there...for every...single...one, and I'll remember to bring tissues. 💜
Thank you for being open about your sister. I lost my little brother to domestic violence two years ago and its definitely reshaped who i am today; dealing with misplaced guilt for not being there to protect him (the one responsible is behind bars, thank god). Of course id give anything to have him back but its also brought my family closer together when we were on autopilot before. We all experience tragedy in one way or another, we have imperfections and the best we can do is work with the hand we're dealt and give back when we're able.
From what I understand, there was a time skip of a few days before the final battle during which Jinx got to hang out with Ekko and the firelights. I wish we could've seen some of that. I would've liked to have seen Jinx's character development from "Imma blow myself up." to "I'm always with you, sis. Even when we're worlds apart." Also Jinx's balloon had rabbit ears painted on it and a big X and Swirly just like Isha's goggles. Jinx's cloak hood has a similar design to the brim of Isha's helmet. That little gem had such a positive effect on Jinx, even after she was gone.
I had read theories about Maddie but the moment the whole squad goes to put the bomb to Viktor's egg(??) and there's a nail jamming the whole thing, I knew it had been her, she was the first one who had the thing in her hand.
"We'll show them...We will show them all..." and that you did, Riot/Fortiche...I applaud everyone who worked on this. It has officially gone down as a staple of animated history, and will be remembered for many decades to come, if not longer. You can sure as Hell bet that I'll be there for the next series, however long that'll take, and every series after. 💜
"I did appreciate your warmth." Coming from the coldest heart. I will fully admit to have cheered when that little ginger witch got hers. I won't lie and say I didn't put that on a slowed-down replay quite a few times. 💜
The way they killed Loris off was so quick and sad… it was realistic sure but he deserved so much better… RIP big guy EDIT: the love between Jayce and Viktor is so real
@@JohnSmithVGA What do you mean with "spoil the images of the characters"? Like I'm absolutely on board with viewing their relationship as platonic and not romantic (there is absolutely love there though, they are basically soulmates) but I don't think there is anything wrong with people enjoying the idea of them being a couple. It's just fun and they are just fictional characters anyway
@@JohnSmithVGA What exactly is your problem with people seeing them as more than friends? the official LoL account twittered a picture of them and writing "I support it." It could easily be seen as romantic, especially from Viktor's side, did you see the way he looks at Jayce from the start? I wish a man or woman would look at me like that! :P
Singed is still the most hilarious mofo in this show. This man has instigated basically every bad thing to happen since the first episode, in one way or another. He has played and sacrified everything and everyone for his one goal. And in the end? The only thing he set out to do, he achieved. Bringing his daughter back. AND he got away with it all.
One thing I noticed when watching rectors was related to when the enforcers tried to bomb the container that they thought Victor was in. I didn't initially figure out where the nail in the bomb mechanism came from. However, later I realised that Maddie actually passed the bomb to the first enforcer so that was an earlier little clue that she was a plant.
I stumbled across your channel after watching both seasons of this extraordinary masterpiece. Like many others, I wanted to re-experience everything through another person's eyes. That's how I found myself watching your reactions to Season 1, and you immediately earned a subscriber. Your insightful observations, your understanding of the characters' emotions, and your remarkably accurate predictions were consistently on point. Your raw emotional responses to the events and your compassion and empathy were incredibly moving to watch. Thank you for allowing us to share this journey with you ♥ 28:32 - I'm always amazed by Jinx's intelligence. In the scene where she attempts suicide, she quickly figures out that while Ekko can rewind time, the damage from her explosions stays on his body after each rewind. When he gets too close after multiple attempts, she switches from explosions to jumping off the edge - showing both her brilliant mind and her care for him by choosing an option that wouldn't cause him harm. P.S. - You mentioned in one of your reactions that until we see a body, we can't be sure someone is dead. Well, I think the same applies to Jinx.
It's heavily implied, based on Caitlyn noticing a cooling duct underneath the Hexgate while investigating its schematics as well as a pink streak of light that flashed right as Jinx's Hextech grenade detonated, that Jinx survived her Heroic Sacrifice and has left on an airship to see the world
It has been an absolutely ride. I can't wait for the next projects. Because as I've said so many times. Piltover & Zaun are literally the smallest tip of the icebearg that is Runetera (the world of League of Legends). It is one of if not the smallest regions on the world map. They gave us a taste of Noxus, but there is so much more going on there than can be imagined. There are so many little hidden things that point to Jinx not being dead. Heimer's race, Yordles, are basically pure magic in a physical body which is why they are effectively immortal. Plus when he vanished, it wasn't the usual destruction we saw before from the hex effect. He kind of just disappeared. So he's likely either in a different time in the other universe, back in the normal universe at a different time, or ended up back in Bandle City (the Yordle Home plane of existence). There's probably more, but I'm fried right now. Enjoyed the heck out of this reaction series. I always love seeing folks discover the League Universe even if they've never played the game or followed it before.
I saw an edit of that balloon sequence with jinx and Ekko where jinx is blasting “tv off” by Kendrick and that’s all I can hear now whenever I see that scene
If you watch when the grenade goes off, just before there is a blitz of purple shimmer energy dashing away, then you see Caitlyn looking at the exhause shaft down where the shimmer line went and smiling a bit, lastly you see the airship powder said she would fly one day at the tail end with Jinx writing. It is heavily indicated Jinx survives but leaves so her sister isnt worried about her.
I may be way off but if you remember from season 1 episode 1, Powder said that one day she would ride one of the air ships. At the end, when the air ship flew away, the episode ended with Jinx scratches leading me to believe that Jinx survived and was on that air ship.
Jinx destroyed everything that was tying her down to the town. Silco, bar, her childhood toys even whole base (fans) where he spend time with Isha...at the end she cut the bond with Vi with faking her own death. There is nothing now that would hold Jinx in that town anymore, she can go and find new place to belong.

One of his best one's for newbies to the world and lore, is called “Riot MMO is almost done.” It's about half hour, but gives a very quick down low explanation of each region of Runeterra.
I think in a practical way, the rune inversion that Ekko used acted more or less as a wild rune representing the discovered knowledge that our Herald Viktor had not yet discovered. His seeing it and saying "this device cannot be" was the beginning of his epiphany that his understanding was incomplete. Ekko was a character that inhabited the present reality, but that present was always the entry way to future potentials. The lesson he learns in the alternate TL is to not be locked on one possible future outcome dictated by a focus on the past. He explains to Powder that he had given up on her, and on Zaun, because he focused too much on the potential outcomes that hadn't materialized in the present. His message when he comes back to Jinx is that the future options can be anything we choose, instead of trying to force them to match our prior understanding. Both Vi nd Cait were focused on the past and judgment when speaking to Jinx, but Ekko reach her because he was the first to present her a future. When Viktor is presented with the multiplicity of future potentials in the rune / hex / device, it literally cracks open his world view and the mask he'd formed over his face, creating an opening for new potential. Viktor's self-created prison of identity is fractured, allowing Jayce in to show him his future potential. And all of that doesn't even touch the existential journey of PowderJinx being shown her possibilities by Ekko and in turn embracing her imaginary Silco's message to herself that if she sets down her presumptions and self-created identity story, she is open to new potential. Her decision to leave her sister dynamic on her own terms, freeing Vi to change her own identity by letting go the narrative of her sister and embracing the new future with Cait, and PowderJinx to create a new path for the future by fulfilling her promise to her Powder self and riding that airship to somewhere new. In believing he was truly gone, she removed the Vander question from Vi's life to save her and even puts her hand to his cheek to say goodbye on her way down, She's leapt forward by leaving things behind, and let go of her need for Vi's approval of her Jinx self, because she's changed entirely in an inversion of her Jinx origin story. The writing of this show is insane.
Coming from a non League player of any capacity, and having only watched this show about 7 months ago... If you would've came up to me say...a year ago, and said that a show that took place in the League of Legends universe would be not only be my favorite animated show of all time, but my favorite show overall, I would've said you're absolutely insane...yet here I am making this comment declaring that this is indeed my absolute favorite show of all time. 💜
I've said exactly the same thing. For 23 years, Band of Brothers has been my favourite TV series ever, with only about two other shows coming close. I only started watching Arcane about a month ago, as someone who has vaguely heard of LOL but never been interested enough to get to know anything about it. It's now taken the #1 spot. I don't tend to watch animated shows, so like you, if someone had told me this would happen, I'd have called them insane.
Harry Lloyd is great! He was Dani's terrible brother in GoT and he was also awesome in the Marvel show "Legion", but I won't say who he played on that cause that's a s p o i l e r ❤
I really appreciate how much discussion and thought you put into the end of each reaction, it's good to see an actual conversation rather than "yo that was wack" *rolls credits*. What you brought up with the traumas of our lives being perfectly imperfect kinda shook something loose for me, because I thought I'd processed most of what I'd felt from my parents passing but I had never thought about asking if I'd still have my current trajectory if they hadn't, or if it hadn't been sudden. I like who I am now, but I don't think I get here any other way Anyway, fav ep of the season is probably episode 5. I loved Jinx and Vi finally working things out, and the group hug just destroys me. Episode 7 was so unbelievably good though, it's a beautiful to indulge the what-if, the songs and art were incredible, and the contrast of Ekko playing Life is Strange while Jayce plays Elden Ring was brain-bending
I think my favorite smaller detail in this episode is after Ekko has worked his way up to Jinx and she realizes he's approaching her as a friend, she doesn't pull the pin again with him next to her. She steps off the edge, making distance between them to not hurt him. This show has so many great details like that. While I don't think it was perfect, I love that the writers placed so so many details that aren't spelled out for the viewer, treating us as intelligent. So many shows ignore that aspect it seems.
The Maddie reveal really is wild in retrospect, her little moment with Vi in Ep 1 of S2 suddenly hits different. "It's nice to know there are still good one's left."...Indeed. To answer the question of favorite characters...I think it might be Sevika. For what would ultimately be just a "thug" character in most stories, she actually has a interesting story arc throughout everything. Beyond that, I think Ambessa makes for a great antagonist. A very entertaining villain, but one with moments where you do see her humanity, just driven by a destructive ideology.
In the flashback where Mel was younger & Ambessa executed a captive, there is a closeup shot of the necklace dropped by the girl. The same necklace that the whoever witch (supposedly LeBlanc from the game lore) bestowed to Mel upon her "inauguration". I think Ambessa lied to Mel when she said her brother died bcs he "crossed the wrong people". Noxus is a nation of invaders; it was probably her who picked a fight with the Black Rose the 1st time.
there are other productions already planned. I think the next one is nexsus so the place where the black rose is from. I love your reactions!! keep posting!!
Just a little detail, the airship in the final scene is the one Powder always wanted to ride. So the implication is Jinx is on there, leaving the cycle behind as her talk with Silco introduced. Cait was reviewing what looked like the schematics of the tower, and it highlights a tunnel that Jinx might have used to escape the explosion. Is it a little bit of a cop out? Yeah. Do I just want a happy end and am willing to accept it anyway? Yes.
"I think the cycle only ends when you find the will to walk away." When Vander explodes, there is a very quick pink streak that moves away just before the explosion. The same colour/tone as when Jinx moves very fast and when she hit Vander off the platform. Caitlyn is examining the vents and tunnel schematics of the tower whilst holding what remains of the clapping monkey head that was part of the bomb that Jinx detonated Vander with. It ends with a shot of an airship flying away with Jinx's characteristic mind glitch art saying THE END. I've seen people also suggest it's the exact same airship that flew by when Powder as a kid said, "One day I'm going to ride in one of those things".
Ekko proving he's the GOAT of the series, hands down. Also, from Viktor's perspective, this his hilarious. Dude has reached god-levels of unstoppable, taken everyone out of the equation, has just about secured victory. And then this teenage punk who he's never actually seen before rides in on a hoverboard, dodges all of his mannequins with perfect timing, and throws the concept of time in a bottle at his face to blow him up. Fucking hysterical LMAO
Even if we don't get our Jinx back, there's a young genius out there with a bunch of hextech crystals and the knowledge that the multiverse exists... I'd love to see the alternate timeline Powder turn into a universe hopping superhero lol
My understanding of Ambessa is that she has always been ambitious and proud. A tactical genius, heir to one of the fastest rising clans in Noxus, and the pinnacle of human might and achievement.... but she could train her body and mind for 100 years and still be crushed by a single mage with no training just because of how they were born She took offense to this and spent the last 30-something years trying to even the playing field. To give the Medardas a weapon that made them the match of any mage. One way she tried was to seduce a mage and have a child who would inherit his powers, but this pissed off an order of witches called the Black Rose, who wanted to recruit this child but were rebuffed. So slowly they took all of Ambessa's money and power and even her son away, promising to stop as soon as she told them the identity of her magical child, but she still stubbornly refused. And that's when she came to Piltover looking for Hextech or something of equivalent power (like Viktor's evolution) to give her that edge to defeat the Black Rose and prove herself and her family superior to anyone, even them Because her first plan, the one to make Mel strong enough and ruthless enough to defeat an enemy like the Rose, wasn't working. She was too much the fox, and not enough the wolf. Which is why Ambessa could die happy at the end, knowing that Mel actually was strong enough to lead Clan Medarda now and protect it from any threats, human or magical
Cool thing about Mel/Maddie was that Mel could have made the choice to put Cait in a ball, but she instead put Maddie in the ball to ensure she would be forced to deal with her action. That bullet ricocheted twice before it found her.
Jinx IS still alive for one, very important, in-lore, outside-of-any-speculation, reason: she's pumped full of shimmer. ANYTHING anyone might care to guess as to whether or not Jinx is, maybe, potentially, more-on-the-unharmed-side-than-not, is trumped by that fact, that has been shown on screen. -she's jacked to superhuman standards. -she's been like that since season 1. -she can control it at will. she's not "on" shimmer, she's not "boosted" by shimmer, she's not "augmented" by shimmer, ... she's had her entire blood compliment replaced by it. full stop.
It's exciting to realize that Jinx tried to kill herself with the explosion, thinking that Ekko was one of the hallucinations, but when she realized it was really him, she tried to jump so as not to hurt him
Riot (the company that makes League of legends) also has made like 2 dozen little music videos and storylets that are in various styles and in this universe (that are quite good). You should check them out on or off the channel ("Awaken", "The Call", and "Still Here" are popular once to get started with).
yes, this is the ending of Arcane. This Characters and story is done. But there is a new hope.... The LoL Universum isnt just Piltower, Zaun and Noxus. this Universum is huge. So if we are lucky the Autores of Arcane come out with a new Storry in this stile / Universum (i hope for Shurima Series)
I don't know if you caught this, but Jinx is actually alive. We see a streak of shimmer leave before the blast, and we see Jinx in the funeral scene before she rides off in the blimp at the end
You should watch Ambessa's origin music video. Also, if you pause on the explosion, you'll see jinx's shimmer speed streak leaving the explosion. That's why Cait had her bomb but no body when looking at the ducts on the map at the end. She knows Jinx escaped but didnt tell Vi so that she can move on. That, in fact, was Jinx leaving in the airship at the end. Also, if you pause on Maddy's shotgun shot, you'll see her smiling as she tries to execute Cait. Vander isn't dead either. If bullets couldnt even touch him, I doubt the bomb or a fall will.
Oh, and another thing. Unless they break all current lore, Heimerdinger is not dead either. His race are basicly immortal and when they die, they go back to their home city.
Question is, in which universe?
I wonder if he died or went somewhere else…
Fun thought: Our Heimerdinger is out of another Dimension from the start.
@@mcfearsun assuming they dont change the lore, he is not dead and is in a city where heimers race are from since they are technically a spirits which makes them immortal

An interesting tidbit from the beginning. Initially Jinx was pulling the grenade even when Ekko was there because she probably thought he was another hallucination, like Silco in episode 8. Once his actions indicated he was real, Jinx switched to jumping since that wouldn't harm Ekko.
Thats exactly what I thought. The writing is so good 😅
It was the monkeys, she saw the monkeys on tech she did not build and it gave him an instant to reach her.

@@chihiro14 She was in the depths of her psychosis during her fight on the bridge and didn't care about much/anything.
@@chihiro14 No, she called him the "Boy Saviour" then, she knew he was real there. It's sort of implied that Ekko's tried to get through to Jinx before and failed, which is why he thinks she can't be saved in S1.
@@technewsfortechnoobs Also, a different sort of sleeper agent towards Cait... 😏
@@mimic1984 oh...that is BAD!
Cait was never more than a job with benefits to Maddie though.
@technewsfortechnoobs 100%
If you pause right when Maddie is shooting Cait there is a smile on her face.
Iroh's quote: "If you look for the light, you can often find it. But if you look for the dark that is all you will ever see".

One thing I totally missed on first watch was that nail in the timer for that charge was not random. Maddie 100% sabotaged the timer when they were getting ready to assault Viktor's orb thing.
Yeah, she is the one who handers it over
One thing I really enjoy about this series is Jayce's love for Viktor. It's so rare you get to see men just unabashedly care for each other. Tell your homies you love them, fellas.
But there is no love in their relationship, only friendship. Even the authors had to clarify this)
I agree, then you have the shippers that try to make them lovers. Its a really good friendship and young boys need to see that and not be told that only lovers can have that bond.

"The Deciever" was probably a character called Leblanc, in League lore she's the leader of the Black Rose and known for illusion magic. The Black Rose is probably gonna be a part of whatever the next series after Arcane is, so I'm sure we'll find out more then.
if it's a noxian show then yes absolutely
And Leblanc`s LOR teaser is actually named "The Deciever"
yep, next show is Noxus, so we'll see Leblanc, Mel, Swain, Raum, Garen, Jarvan, and maybe even Briar. Heck may even see Singed again.
@@ckhayne2 Garen and J4? Wouldn't it be more likely about Noxus-Ionia?
I doubt Demacia will appear. I'm no lorehound, but I'm pretty sure Arcane is leading into the Noxian invasion of Ionia, Singed still owes his allegiance to Noxus (there's no indication that he's lying and they did give him what he wanted). That leads into the Noxian occupation of Ionia and the corresponding fallout. Demacia/Noxus conflicts occur after that if memory serves.
My favorite little touch is when Jinx is trying to kill herself with the grenade, and Ekko rewinds time, the background music rewinds too.
The hourglass paint on his face wears away as he's taking damage with every explosion, symbolizing that he's running out of time to save her.
She used the black rose to stop her mom but then chose to try and rescue her from it because she still is her mom, and basically show her mom like “you see, i am strong enough and we could’ve defeated the black rose together, it didn’t have to be this way” kind of thing
Mel is foxier than that, she used her mom as bait, then her wolf came out.
She told her mom they would avenge Kino together but her mom wouldnt hear it. So she used her mom as bait to get to the Black Rose to avenge her brother.

Until he tells her, he doesn't want to get blown up
@@ailidh-Bcn More like she sees blood dropping and him sitting down ponitng out he is not a hallucination.
Yes, it is the last time we'll see Jinx. And she IS dead, whether you like it or not
@@SaguntoYT lol no, it's pretty much all but confirmed that she survived. So many things implicate that she lived.

@nrgspike I don't know, the moment you see Eko arrive you know he convinces her, to help
But yeah, hope they adde that hour to the extras on Blu-ray
Jinx is alive, but hopefuly there will be new stories. Vi and Jinx and Piltover story is over, as far as the series goes. LET A STORY END.
The last conversation with Silco
He says killing is a cycle, the only way to break it is to leave it behind.
Jinx thinks he means to kill herself, but he actually means just walk away.
A rewatch is the best.
The song Powder sings as she covers he eyes is the same song Vi hums.
And that flashback memory is Vanders. How would Jinx remember Vander looking at them asleep. Warwick let go of Jinx.
There's no way she'd be able to stay anyway. She is still wanted for the murder of 6 enforcers at Progress Day, several more including the chief at the bridge, and three council members. They'd have to imprison her.
@@elheber Pardons exist lol.

The change at the end is reflective of Jinx choosing not to die after all.
I was super stoked for your reaction and it didn't disappoint! Thank you!
And also the girl on the band, when they were playing the song ekko and power danced to
It was a really nice touch to have many of the background soldiers pop up a few times throughout the season, because it can be very easy to have these big battle scenes full of faceless people dying, and have the cost be sort of abstract.
Many people say jayce had to go through hell but man ekko had to give up on heaven to return to hell😢
1- A purple line is seen moving rapidly just before the explosion and heading towards the wall
2- Catelyn has a piece of Jinx's device in her hand, it means that she went down (or that someone did) and found no trace of bodies (neither hers nor that of Warwick/Vander) which is why she looks at the plans and sections of the building, focusing on the ventilation ducts which are exactly at the point where the purple trail can be seen heading
3- The last shot is the same as the first episode when Powder says he would have liked to drive an airship like that, furthermore the final writing is in "Jinx style"
One subtle detail about the art is how Caitlyn was aged during the season. The mature, regal, woman in the end was clearly not the almost-girl we got to see in, say, episode 1x04, guarding her mother's tent.
Vi and Caitlyn, coming together... works in and out of context, in multiple ways.
Mel used her mom as bait to draw out LeBlanc so she could invade her “space” and ID her in order to hunt her down.
Mel’s mom did end up dying but she died happy since she realized that her long term plan worked! (her plan to have a child with a mage and raise it to be a Medarda so her clan could resist the mages, which Mel proved that she was up to the task).
it was likely only a clone so plenty of leblanc around still

She'll spend her entire life following Jinx around and feeling responsible for her well-being, her mental recovery, all her choices, etc etc, and Jinx doesn't want that for her
Especially because Jinx knows that, realistically, if she herself is ever going to heal and find a way to be happy again, she needs to leave the city and start over new somewhere else.
It was an absolute joy to watch Arcane with you. ❤
Viktor is my favorite character as well. And please try “Frieren” as your next animated show. It’s right up your alley.
Even when we're worlds apart."
Also Jinx's balloon had rabbit ears painted on it and a big X and Swirly just like Isha's goggles.
The first and the last to handed over to the guy who had to place it
"We'll show them...We will show them all..." and that you did, Riot/Fortiche...I applaud everyone who worked on this. It has officially gone down as a staple of animated history, and will be remembered for many decades to come, if not longer. You can sure as Hell bet that I'll be there for the next series, however long that'll take, and every series after. 💜
"I did appreciate your warmth."
Coming from the coldest heart.
I will fully admit to have cheered when that little ginger witch got hers. I won't lie and say I didn't put that on a slowed-down replay quite a few times.
💜
The way they killed Loris off was so quick and sad… it was realistic sure but he deserved so much better… RIP big guy
EDIT: the love between Jayce and Viktor is so real
But there is no love in their relationship, only friendship. Even the authors had to clarify this)
@ not a romantic love but they just cherished each other it was beautiful
@ I agree, but we must resist the army of shippers that spoil the images of the characters)
@@JohnSmithVGA What exactly is your problem with people seeing them as more than friends? the official LoL account twittered a picture of them and writing "I support it."
It could easily be seen as romantic, especially from Viktor's side, did you see the way he looks at Jayce from the start? I wish a man or woman would look at me like that! :P
Mel's on her mom's ship, headed for Noxus.
That's the location of the next story in this world.
Can't wait.
Tremendous job with the reactions, guys! ❤
Really I am glad for his daughter but damn...
@@finanightmare1993 It is absolutely hilarious, is what it is.
Absolutely phenomenal epic.
I don't have anything else to say besides that, other than great reaction👍🏾
Jinx is certainly not dead...Cait look at the vents is investigating Jinx escape...the Airship at the end...Is a huge clue jinx is alive... 25:07
One day Jinx is going to ride one of those(airships) pretty sure she did...
You’re the only person I’ve seen mention the significance of the acceleration/reversal rune!
Thank you for allowing us to share this journey with you ♥
28:32 - I'm always amazed by Jinx's intelligence.
Phenomenal series...I already miss it so much...😢 💜
Been waiting for this reaction! 😢😢😢
It's heavily implied, based on Caitlyn noticing a cooling duct underneath the Hexgate while investigating its schematics as well as a pink streak of light that flashed right as Jinx's Hextech grenade detonated, that Jinx survived her Heroic Sacrifice and has left on an airship to see the world
I feel like media doesn’t do male friendships as well. It’s nice having brothership shown like that in a show
It has been an absolutely ride.
MUSTAAAAAAAAAARD
Also Netflix had no part in making this, just the video publisher.

Champion re-work trailers (these are when they make trailers for champions who have been re-worked. League is an on-going game that still runs on an old engine, as of so far they haven’t decided to update the engine, but it’s a live service game. Each year they release new champions, effects, etc. Basically old champs can fall behind from graphics, gameplay, etc. so every season they will re-work a few champs and launch a trailer to tease them)
-Fiddlesticks: terror in Demacia
Tip for all of these, they should be in the playlist on leagues youtube page and easy to find. I omitted some that are already mentioned. I put * symbol by some because they are best watched in an order. For example, you can find the ruination event if you look up “sentinels of light” - and playlist by timfernix (ironically ruination event is not a playlist on leagues youtube page lol)
Start watching all the League of Legends animated music videos:
1) Phoenix

Ekko
Amumu
Xayah and Rakan
The Path, An Ionian Myth
Kin of The Stained Blade
Ryze Call of Power
A New Dawn
Feeding Frenzy
You Really Got me - Wild Rift to top it off after everything above.
(two newest one's are "blood, Sweat, Tears" & "Heavy is the Crown - Linkin Park Music video"
Lastly I highly recommend reacting “NECRIT”, he is a long time youtuber who’s whole channel is based on league of legends lore and content. One of his best one's for newbies to the world and lore, is called “Riot MMO is almost done.” It's about half hour, but gives a very quick down low explanation of each region of Runeterra.
Wow, thanks!!
9:58 When Ambessa says "Desperation is the doorway to oblivion", I can't help but think she should have followed her own advice.
WOO!!! I'M IN THE UNDER AN HOUR CLUB!!!
I love the part when Caitlyn says, "So, are we some sort of League of Legends?"
Jaybe, or.... Jaybe not.
Fun Fact:
Harry Lloyd, the voice of Viktor is also in the
DR Who two parter,
Human Nature and The Family Of Blood.
Other personal favourites:
Visarys Targaryen - Game of Thrones S1
Will Scarlet - Robin Hood (2006) S1/2
Ultima - Final Fantasy 16
Harry Lloyd is great!
He was Dani's terrible brother in GoT and he was also awesome in the Marvel show "Legion", but I won't say who he played on that cause that's a
s p o i l e r
❤
I really appreciate how much discussion and thought you put into the end of each reaction, it's good to see an actual conversation rather than "yo that was wack" *rolls credits*.
What you brought up with the traumas of our lives being perfectly imperfect kinda shook something loose for me, because I thought I'd processed most of what I'd felt from my parents passing but I had never thought about asking if I'd still have my current trajectory if they hadn't, or if it hadn't been sudden. I like who I am now, but I don't think I get here any other way
Anyway, fav ep of the season is probably episode 5.
I think that at first she thought he was one of her visions, until he said the bit about not wanting to get blown
19 minutes in it's pretty easy for Chase to say that when he doesn't have trouble walking.
I love how when Viktor connected to everyone it did not connect to Vander since there is no soul left inside to join.
23:51 Jinx making a run for it
I would love to sit and watch the entire series again but in a theater.
Yes.
The music always fit so well because is made for the scene from scratch.
A tactical genius, heir to one of the fastest rising clans in Noxus, and the pinnacle of human might and achievement.... but she could train her body and mind for 100 years and still be crushed by a single mage with no training just because of how they were born
She took offense to this and spent the last 30-something years trying to even the playing field. And that's when she came to Piltover looking for Hextech or something of equivalent power (like Viktor's evolution) to give her that edge to defeat the Black Rose and prove herself and her family superior to anyone, even them
Because her first plan, the one to make Mel strong enough and ruthless enough to defeat an enemy like the Rose, wasn't working.
Agree with you about everything
, nice take in the end
Jinx IS still alive for one, very important, in-lore, outside-of-any-speculation, reason:
she's pumped full of shimmer.
ANYTHING anyone might care to guess as to whether or not Jinx is, maybe, potentially, more-on-the-unharmed-side-than-not, is trumped by that fact, that has been shown on screen.
-she's jacked to superhuman standards.
-she's been like that since season 1.
-she can control it at will.
she's not "on" shimmer, she's not "boosted" by shimmer, she's not "augmented" by shimmer, ... she's had her entire blood compliment replaced by it.
full stop.
You were not ready.
No bodies or remains left behind = No Death.
yes, this is the ending of Arcane.
