    Hi! I’ve been watching all of your videos the last few days. I have a question- how do decide between licensing, legal unlicensed, etc? You mentioned you’re not licensed and I want to understand your thought process to help me decide how I want to go about this!

    Hi. Thanks for sharing. I love your channel, there is a lot of information that I didn't know and I'm from FL as well. I'm in the process of getting licensed when all this virus situation is over. Hopefully soon. I didn't know the Department has an enrollment application online and I didn't know I can find the ASQ on Google. 😱 Thanks again, Stay safe. Are you still open?

    As a registered daycare, do you have a lawyer as well?

    • @totstothetop
      @totstothetop  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We only appoint lawyers when we have issues arise, but I do have a lawyer that I contact regularly with concerns if that helps. I ask about ways to keep myself safe etc.

    You are legal? But not licensed ? I’m confused what’s the difference between registered and licensed ?

    • @totstothetop
      @totstothetop  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes I am legal . There are more than just licensed and registered . There is ‘legally unlicensed’ as well and a few others . The differences vary from state to state and even county to county . I’d encourage you to research what is required by your state and county because for me to explain the differences for my county may be pointless for you if you get where I am coming from. Thank you for watching 🙂

      I am legally unlicensed. But I never heard of just being registered. I am in NJ maybe they don’t have that 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’m planning on being licensed soon

    • @totstothetop
      @totstothetop  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So in NJ its either licensed or legally unlicensed ? Registered is more lenient in Florida in my opinion. There aren't many inspections as if I were licensed. There are more rules and paperwork for licensed. You renew annually. Is that what Legally Unlicensed is? What makes you want to become licensed if you don't mind me asking?

    • @jessesworld2747
      @jessesworld2747 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Legally unlicensed is you don’t have to go through state but you still do taxes and all that other stuff. You just don’t have state on you and no inspections. I want to be licensed because I want to work with more children. Legally unlicensed you only allowed a certain number. I want to be licensed also to work with parents who financially can’t afford it. The state helps them pay if I’m licensed through the state.

      @totstothetop  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh okay. Yeah to be registered in Florida (legally unlicensed isn't an option for us) you have to take courses, exams, and have background screenings and a few other things to operate legally. We also do taxes and have to report to DCF for anything we need. Unlike in your case, for us, state help is allowed to be used in registered homes. You just have to directly apply through the programs you'd like to offer to certify your program to accept them. Also in Florida , no matter if your licensed or registered in a home, ratios are the same unlike in your case.
