- Look, I know there's been a whole bunch of talk about Steve and about how unbalanced Smash Ultimate is. But, I mean, do you guys remember Smash 4? That game was BROKEN! Today, we'll be looking at some old Smash 4 sets while I give my thoughts.

Imo smash 4 is the best in the series by far. I can't even play the new one with how weird the buffer system is. Smash 4 felt way smoother.
Feel you, bro. I like playing Ultimate at times, but it's not for me. Physics are garbage and some mechanics are insufferable. Glad for those who adapted, but i just can't.

@@jaydenhohman2590 Imo it was a good system. The way you can airdoge and then attack or jump makes the game very dynamic in air movement. And it's not like it was hard to punish either.
Fun fact: Playing as C. Falcon. If you jump and airdoge at the same time, you have the perfect timing for a grounded knee.
@@jaydenhohman2590 the air dodges in ultimate are wack because they leave you vulnerable for so long that they are almost unusable.

i feel like the fearlessness to run through shields is also a statement about how collision mechanics were different in smash 4 versus ultimate

It's was such a cool looking and stylish game
It just looks and felt so smooth and polished. I loved the size of the roster, it was my favorite thing about it, because when the roster is too large, it's hard to get good against everyone, but when it's too small, not everyone finds their character. I think 4 had the perfect size :3

Smash 4 barely has any notable features and feels very soulless. Smash Ultimate feels like what Smash 4 should’ve been. I doubt it will ever end up like its predecessor.

Nah ultimate is by far jankier. I can't even play it because of the new buffer system. Smash 4 felt so much smoother in comparison. Brawl is still the worst game in the series though.
You can say anything about ultimate movement not being the best but Smash 4 is easily more janky and unbalanced than smash ultimate.
@@Sergio-wc1wn I think the balance is about the same. Sure Bayonetta was easily #1, but I think Steve is just as busted only he is harder to play as. The rest of the cast I thought was more balanced than now. Smash ultimate has an even bigger difference in character size and reach and I think that makes it extremely difficult for characters with low reach to even get close enough to hit their opponent.

@@user-jh1ov8cc7m Steve is not even close to as busted as Bayo. Also I disagree with you; almost every character in ultimate except Ganon and maybe Little Mac can top 8 a major in this game currently, while in smash 4 that was nearly impossible.
@@Sergio-wc1wn have you even seen steve's hitstun cancelling, and PMLG recently discovered? If you haven't... you may with to retract your previous statement of utter stupidity. Steve gets one hit and kills you from it, regardless of your DI. Bayonetta gets one hit, and kills you from it, with sometimes a 50/50 to get out of her combo with SDI.

hot take (actually maybe not, maybe cold) smash ultimate is still smash 4, its not a new game its a patch, like how street fighter games had like 3 new game (patches) that had drastic game balance differences. another example i use is dragon ball fighterZ, I would consider its current patch more different from the initial release then smash ultimate is to 4 and fighters is still just considered 1 game

Yeah that's a cold one. Physics were reworked. (Faster in general) every character was rebalanced and made faster. Shield was reworked, grabs were changed, new hitstun and better combos, better movement because of dash dancing. I could go on. That's a bit more than a patch so this makes no sense.
Only thing not changed were the graphics and sounds sorta?
@@blackghostcat your idea of a patch just isnt broad enough, the street fighter versions are just as if not more drastically different in all those categories but are still all considered street fighter 2 - edit: also you know waht a hot/cold take is right? hot means its a controversial unpopular opinion. if you dont agree you should say its not, being cold means everyone agrees with me.
