It’s fun to collaborate with a friend… you tend to soar higher and have fun at he same time ! Bob, Thank you my long bearded friend 👍
Mahalo to you brother! We had a fun time of it! Aloha!🤙
Ahhh a shop with a beautiful view. Stick welders are a tough 1to run on this setup. The smaller one will run all day if you have enough batteries.
Nice experiment 👍
Mahalo! Boy oh boy did we have fun! Aloha!🤙
Awesome shop, though if it were mine i'd have an awful hard time getting anything accomplished having that beautiful view to stare at all day!
Nice video Bob!
You and me both brother! Mahalo!🤙
WOW ! what a nice shop. great way to load test the inverter part. to bad you did not have hi amp DC meter to measure draw on 48V side. they make clamp on DC/AC amp meter. for loads like this you need 1000 amp DC scale. 48V inverters run cooler for same watts out as to 12/24 V units. what a cost savings the all in 1 can give. all that on his wall replaced buy 2 and does more. you getting around 7200 watts total . jumps around as welding. you get a peek amps when first strike a arc. nice surge ratting on them. been some solar storms and we seen northern lights in NY .NOAA has warring's up about possible grid down and SAT coms down as well as radio and TV broadcast. NOAA does solar weather as well . off grid is getting better and cheaper. every thing else going up in price. hope the kitty's are not to mad with BOB being away !
Yeah, it's a great shop. Had a blast seeing the guy's, and thinking up things to try, especially with so many toys at hand! Could have shown hours of us running around having good fun. I'll bet he had a DC meter like you mentioned. May head back soon as we came up with other fun ideas. Coming down at nearly 3 inches per hour, roads completely flooded...hunkering down. My cats were not happy with me! They missed last nights dinner, and morning feeding too! They let me know all about it too! Haha. Aloha!🤙
And I thought I had a big yard to mow. 😂
Right! Five acre lawn there! Aloha buddy!🤙
Another day in paradise... 🍍
It was beautiful down there! Had fun and saw friends! Aloha!🤙
Wow beautiful
Is so beautiful down there!🤙
Great video!
Mahalo brother! We had more fun than should be allowed over the weekend! Aloha!🤙
I'm a little confused, you have two of them connected in parallel to double up the power output at 120Vac and but you are testing it with 240Vac hoist and the welder. Am I missing something?
1:43 It looks like that ring terminal gets hot, due to loose crimping of the cable to the ring terminal, you may want to check the temperature of that connection of the positive and the negative of the ring terminals.
Yeah, my friend corrected me as well on my calling it parallel , when it was truly a split phase configuration to run 240v. I misspoke. I will point that out to him at 1:43 , he keeps a close eye on everything, and mahalo for your good eye! Aloha!🤙
Is that just off the batteries or is solar going in as well? Are they wired up so they’re 120 V each making it to 240 output? so how many amps was actually coming out of the batteries because it was going into two inverters? imagine that standby amps would be quite high.
Yes, for this test we went straight off the batteries only. And yes 120v ea. in split phase to combine for 240v. We didn't run the test terribly long, and I wasn't keeping the amps used under a watchful eye. Aloha!🤙
Are both of the inverters being used??? My understanding is that you need a 240V load to test a split phase setup, or other 120V loads on the other phase. Otherwise it would only use one inverter for a 120V load I think.
I'm wondering if they could be configured as single phase stacked to get more power available for 120V devices to make it work better for a 120V welder (seems like one of those welders was 120V when I looked it up).
Please correct me if I'm misunderstanding--Thank you for the video!!!
Aloha ✋🌞👍
Aloha!🤙
@@ProjectsinParadise808 Spot on with what I wanted to know. Did you happen to notice if the air compressor ran too?
I thought I saw it reach 46Amps
Was moving so fast, you may have! It exceeded it's rating, and shut off as it should. We had fun! Aloha!🤙
@@ProjectsinParadise808 yes, it handled the peak amps at first but the continuous above the rated did it in. Were the fans screaming during the load test?
there should be an option to auto reset on overload and another for over temp. did you get it on 60hz?
Yes, had set to 60hz. I'll look for that auto reset, I don't remember seeing that, but that doesn't mean it's not there! Had other guys in and out suggesting all kinds of crazy tests...just being guys. Good fun. Aloha brother!🤙
I ordered one of these but they are out of stock unless I pay shipping from Europe so no deal I guess.
