Do you think this would work with glass too if I got like a wine bottle or something

Absolutely. That's how people used to do it! It's the origin of the term "bottle neck" slide playing.

I must say yours sounded like mine, a cat hung over a pole and being beat with a stick LOL.I don’t know if the copper tubing works r not.I did the same thing today buying copper, be sure to smooth the edges off after you cut your tubing r you will have a big cut on your finger like I got LOL I am going to listen to Justin Johnson with his cigar box guitar or Dr. Mark both excellent

Well, different materials sound different. And we are talking about a cheap slide made out if plumbing pipe! :-) But keep at it and I'm sure you'll get better sounds out of it!

I made one out of copper, but I polished it with my buffing wheel to reduce the friction, although the friction gave it a nice gritty sound when used on an electric guitar with overdrive/distortion. Even after polishing, it took some getting used to. It has a sharper tone and is less forgiving than glass or ceramic slides, which produce mellow and smooth tones. I had to really get the palm muting down to tame the excess noise, but it was well worth it. It definitely improved my playing. It's not coated, so I hit it with my buffing wheel if it starts getting even a tiny bit gritty.
