I would suggest you review the computer and ensure the information you are providing is not false information. The "speakers" you stated you can see above the keyboard, those are fans. The SSD, totally swappable, that's the heat sink for the SSD you were looking at. Other then that, you had really nice and clean camera angles and production looks great. Keep it up man!
Ok it's not just me... especially when it came to the SSD, it was so blatantly obvious you can swap it out.
Yeah lmao, even the most ani-consumer windows gaming machines in 2024 have upgradeable ssd
Thanks for being the first to finally review this! And the NVME is upgradable those 2 screws just hold the heat sync in place.
Above the keyboard is air intake fans, the speakers are on the bottom & flanking the keyboard. SSD is upgradeable, it probably just has some cover over it

I too lusted after the Alienware computers when they were custom builds (before becoming part of the Dell family). I'm looking forward to your in-depth review of this laptop.
My 13 R3 from 2017 still running strong.
I think the X14 though should come with OLED and touchscreen in that size.

I got mine last week .
I love it so far !
My only complaint is i wished it was an OLED screen like my older 13” from years back .

Apparently the battery life is about 3hrs if that is that true Don ?
I wouldn’t want an OLED screen for a computer that you play light games and do productivity on. The reason why I do my work on my laptop and not my PC hooked to an OLED TV is because of the risk of burn in.
How are the fans? Do they spin up loud even when you’re only browsing the web?
What can you say about the fans of the X14 i heard they are running always and they never stop , also any issue with the heating ? Thank you and hope to get an answer

I think the only good highlight of the new x14 is the efficiency of the 4000 series GPU. Which you didn’t get so you might’ve as well gotten the one from last year on sale
the R1 has better look too IMO.

I got mine last year, the top end 3060 with 32 GB 5200mhz ram for 1600 bucks. It’s a great laptop for only being a single usb c connector
2K and 16:10 is actually necessary for anything other than games…

@@JamesCook76131 How’s the fan noise of your X14 during daily usage by the way? I know that it’s too strict to require it to stay silent when gaming, but my friend’s M15R7 runs loudly even for just loading a Google Map(web version)
I dont want to sound like a hater but i like last year model. I think whole white looks better than the metal looking chasis.
Why buy the newer r2 version and only get the rtx 3050 on it? Might as well buy a cheaper r1 at that point or just pay a little more for a 4050/4060 for more fps and dlss 3 frame generation...
*MICRO SD CARDS SLOTS* are designed to be on par with other gaming devices like switch, steam dock or many gaming laptops, most gamers will have micro sd, it's not meant for photographers that use larger SD.

lol, as a researcher I use microSD card for Jetson systems. This is one thing that Blade 14 should bring.
I am curious what you feel about the wrist area. I personally felt it was too small as the edge rested on my palms and didn't feel the greatest.

I just ordered this beauty with 32gb of Ram and the 4060. My main concern is cooling, I don't care about battery or noise, I want it to be cool.:)

@@Umiyoureup It was horrible. The power light started blinking red and I thought it fried. I sent it back and ended getting an Asus which has excellent cooling. Pretty much the same specs but 16"

Last year’s x14 had a really annoying fan curve that could not be customized. It would spin the fan to 100% even while just browsing. Do you know if that fixed that this year? Thanks!
I had one, and really miss it. You could completely do away with the fan curve by offsetting it in the AWCC and i managed to get mine to run around 30% unless somethin demanding was going on.
@@freemaysin5088 which version of AWCC? I had one last fall and the software didn’t work. Did they fix it?
@@enmass90 the 5.5 version. mine worked almost flawlessly. I HATE the new 6.0 version. I have an x16 now but I'm returning it, mainly because of gsync issues and the goddamn 6.0 AWCC is the worst thing alienware has ever made, period.
The SSD is upgradable. What you are seeing is a heatsink.

Just picked up last years Asus G14 All AMD model and it is great and I got it at $1399 Canadian on sale from $1999 Sweet Deal
It's a flipped motherboard. There are copper heatsinks, just on the other side.

@@caleb4015 So far so good :). I only had a few glitch with 2 buttons, “mute speakers” and “mute microphone”. Whenever I am waking up the pc from sleep after a while, the 2 buttons doesn’t seem to respond… I have to restart the computer to make it work again. I have to look online. Maybe there is a fix. Other than that, very happy with the purchase. I haven’t tried any games yet though. I bought it mainly for work.
How come dell doesn't have an old option?? It's so lame. My old 13 r3 oled died this week, after 6 years of usage. I was so happy with it, now it is time to find a new one, but damn, I can't go back to IPS. After having oled there is no turning back. And Alienware doesn't offer one. Maybe 15 or 17 I don't know, but 15 or 17 is too big. So I am very disappointed by Alienware.

The 17" AMD 6900HX model with 6850M AMD graphics, 64GB RAM and Cherry keys is $1999 right now. If you don't need the portability of the 14"....

Can you do a review on the MacBook Air M1 that one you have with 8gb ram and 256gb of ssd i wont to see if it will work with my college or not and see if I need to upgrade my ram to 16gb and I am doing computer science for college thanks. ( I am not trying to be rude if it seems like it I am sorry)

I'm a step away from purchasing it, but should I wait for the Razer 14" refresh model to see how it compares? I really love the compact charger USB C, I'm leaning towards lights weight gaming.
If you’re getting with the intent of single connector usb C charging, then go with this.
If you don’t care about that, then go with the razer. I really wanted something that if I forgot my charger, I could still slow charge off any usb c brick.

How is fan noise?
@@tinybit780 If you only browse websites or do light things 50% of fan speed is good enough can keep your CPU temp around 55 -60 'C with no fan noise. When I play League of Legend with no other program running behind I have to use the "overdrive" model to max the fan speed to 100% which you will hear the noise really loud. Technically X series is more like a notebook but not real a gaming laptop. If you want a balance between business, and school with some good gaming then this is your choice. Otherwise, if you looking for more quality experience on gaming I would not recommend you to get the X series at all. Thermral is definitely the biggest issue on any thin and small size laptop.

i bought the first generation, i really wish they just made the whole chasis hard metal and not this soft shell bs. other than that i love the thin ass portability and ability to play rdr2 lol.
It looks nice, but when other 14inch gaming laptops exist that can do better in many ways it's hard to want to buy this. For instance, last years 2022 G14 has been either 1099 or 999 at best buy and IMO is a better buy.
I tried it, returned it. quality is really poor if you compare it to this.

2023 and they still got bezel from 2015
it feels different becase of the hinge on top of the deck and this helps the screen to be higher and more on eye level. It's an advantaged for controller based games as well.
