Sadly since independence or even before that our politicians only thought about their pockets, that's why even after 70+ years of independence we talk about house, sanitization, electricity, basic education and facilities.
The mindset of the population also plays a major role, the love of the people of Japan, USA, China for their country is something that has boosted the policies made by leaders, which we lack in India. We Indians still don't want to do extra efforts and want govt to give us everything free and also promote corruption, hide income, try avoiding tax payment.
All these things are invisible but has significant importance. Resources and all are not in anyone's hand. But will and dedication is, see how Japan rose after World war even though their geography is not so good and they face earthquake, tsunami what not.
