Khas or khasas have a unique history. It is tied mostly with kushan empire. Which is very very big. You know lord ram son is named kush too. But from my knowlege khas are known as kashas even in mahavharat. And places like kashi , kashipur and kashmir was under kushan empire. You can still find kashas in kashmir in india. It is said that nepali khas came from china espevially kash ghar qimg gang provience and tibet where kash ghar is known as kashi in local ugher language. Around 27 capital city are closer from kash ghar china than it capital bejing. In tibet or bhotia people espically called khas people as yartse tribe in iran they are knwon as kapsi people, in india it khas kashas, in pakostan it was kash and afghanistan kashas. Basically in south asia they are known as khas. For instance in pakistan there is mirpur khas which is huge. This is where alot of shindi people live. Kashmar and kashmir. It is said that back in kushan empire alot of university was under kushan. Even afghanistan had kashas who even ruled kabul. Now i dont know when but kushan were people that were from central asia iran to south asia.so land like kazasktan and ujbekistan and other central asia were connected. Afghanistan hindu kush mountain range is named after kushan people or kashas in particular. We all know gupta empire that is veey big feom which alot of big king have come and gupta empire was the broken part of kushan in south asia. In iran palces like kashan , even city of kish whixh in sumerian were kashas get their name , the place of older literature known to man kind and irigation and agriculture technique that came from this city to southern asia. Even the plow used by lord krishna brother balram ji is said to origin from here. And indus valley civilisation saw the use of this technique. Iran is where caspian sea is which iranian say is named after kapsi people. In which hindu book say it is kasyap sagar. Which hindu say is about kashmir. So it intresting about kashas. It just we are all human being and we are related. Roman called kashas as kasite appartnely so there is alot of information it just we are going back thousand of year as sumerialn were liek 13000 ti 14600 year like just one city that old so it alot to take in.
@ShishirAcharya-ux3qm in all religion that i know of from christanity to sanathan dharma if there is something that is pure that is water. And the supreme priest is fire. Agni is the supreme priest for folower of sanathan dharma. Zhorastrian or even people of nepal for instance have a big respect for asur. It is said that asur and dev are son of rishi kasyap. And iranian side are more asur and india side more dev. Yet in story one is bad one is good. It vise versa. For instance in nepal in thiar we say bali raja le patayeko etc. Because king bali may be asur but his land is forever protected by lord vishnu. One of nepali king was known as banasur. He faught lord krishna. And krishna ji have apparentley used everything against him. Including sudharsan chakra. The sign of laser cut in fortress in halves are still present in india if you google banasur fort you may even want to visit the place it is close to nepal in the border.. Banasur was western king of nepal and the nearby land in india today. He was known as the strongest wariror of the era/yuga by lord krishna as even maha dev was his protector. One of the time lord krishna faught lord shiva was because of the battle between king banasur and lord krishna. Banasur also gave his head to lord krishna which is remarkable as western king of the land that if of today nepal gave his head after mahabharat wars just like king of kirat king barbarik (akash bhairav who was eastern most king of nepal). And barbarik gave his head to lord krishna before mahabharat war. I just find the two king giving their head to krishna as offering is so intresting. Wariors who coukd have been known as greatest if participated in war. They showed their capability to lord krishna and such was their mindset that just like king bali banasur and barbarik gave everything they had to vishnu avatar. I belive such is the mindset that make nepal which is the great sacrifice. In nepal people body are cremated, buried, mummified and even cut into diffrent pieces and feed to vulture and wilderness. Nepal is very unique. If two word that decribe nepal the most then it is sacrifice and acceptance. For example in india khasas were humilated and harrassed. Not allowed to go to temple depending on who rulled the land etc. How rajput harrassed khasas is well know in history. How chand king lifted khas from humilation only when many started to convert into islam. This conversion was seen as a way people could live in peace. Chand king lifted kahsas by regulation as long as kashas forget their practice in religion and follow their method in worshiping they can worship their god which was the same but just practice that they followed had to be changed.. Ask any indian before muslim came to india how many conflict in name of caste , etnecicity and such were in full scale. People of india call british unlawfull in battle and same by british. The use of poision is seen as cowardy practice by british as indian were very skilled in poision. In anglo gurkha war nepal didnot poision their water ways or use of poision arrows. Which apparntely one of nepal general thought of requesting a permison of such use. Yet nepal didnot use such tactics and this was praised by britisher for such might or people not to use tactics that was seen all over ither south asian land. Poision is not new in india even in muryan and before them about vish kanya and so on.
Comimg back to khas Many nepali may say sikh as far away from what nepal may be. However kashas were friend of people in panchal even in mahabharat. Sikh religion was founded by guru nanak rai who was of khatri clan that goes from india gujrat, afghanistan pakistan and even nepal in term of guru nanak rai clan. Sikh empire golden age is seen with mahraja ranjit singh who defeated many northen land such as afghanistan kashmir etc. In the 3 type of sikh unit one of them is fouje khas ,which is said that word khalsa in sikh comes from khasas. Now fouje khas had general from french italy , america and more. But we do see that connection because kushan empire was massive.ruled by various king. Some indian even say that some of kushan were in africa which i am not sure of. But they talk about how lord ram son kush is the known founder of kushite in africa. With the indian even quoting how in black panther a marvel movie when tchala the protagonist is confronted by the leader of monkey who live in mountain of wakanda And before they fight the leader say glory to hanuman. It a suprise but really kushan may be biger than my knowlege which is from central asia middle and south asia as well as many various area in china. That being said one of indis biggest empire was gupta empire that started by breaking of kushsn empire.many maps that show nepal is connected with india is in this period. Which was kushan land and mahvharat call kashas as melcha or forigner.yet in mahvharat we see kashi raj and many participating in certain area of the book. Kashas have a big history. Let me reprhase it all human have big history. We all are some how related because we as a species live in mother earth. I do not dwell in empire that are for names but i do wish that khasas and kirat can make empire in people heart. As a nepali origin i am proud of my elder. Even if during ww2 prime minister rana told his dunject not to recognise them self as khas as they can be rediculed by indian soilder who will be figjting along them for common cause. Hisrory are there for tecshing not to dwell into. The khasas for instance gpimg back 5000 or 6000 ok. But going to kish or sumerian we are looking at 13000 ti 16600 years which i dont think will benefit anyone. But it is their but let me ask any nepali what is the name of your 6th father like father grandfather and great grandfather. We probably need to check book. Even going10 is like difficult so imagine going far . Yes in nepal temple we may have recorded for example about 40 genration of my family is recorded in temple. But do you know even this is not as old as oldest litersture which is a record kept by kish people. It is believed by many elder in nepal which you csn look in video about how kashas get their name and they say about city of kish. Even nepal flag flew in mahavharat and the person who made nepal flag today state in video how he kept the flag that represneted people od the land even during such period. Even lord budha birth place of lumbini coins are said to be found with nepali flag like symbols present dsting few centuries older than period of time of lord sidharta gautam. This if true further explain how the godess temple that out dates period of mahvharat and the stone carving of the flag recognises nepal flag as one of the oldest flag to be flying. Yet it may not be a flag that represnet one . Yet it a flag that many nepali leader have adopted. As a nepali saying is something like a strength of a nation is based on the foundation of the flag.

How ashoka married his daugher to a prince of a nepali kingdome. These are all facts. You may have ashok chakra in india flag or factor of great merits with medal in name of it .however ethenicity of nepal that may live in india or nepal or even china as sherpa live in china as well. I think Kushan and Khas are the same people , every thing is same about them .. Place of Origin,the rout they came to India n Nepal , places where they conquered like Bactria,Afghanistan, Kashmir and utarakhand ,Far western Nepal till kasi Mathura,Banarasi ,half of Gupta empire.. After king Kanishka his son lost power to hold the empire and they got scattered out all over South Asia .Another thing I understood is Kushan was one group in Federation of Yuzi group in Central Asia ..They lost war with Mongol federation and moved to Tibet then to South Asia on their way defeating Sakas Tribe ( Sakye tribe of Gautam Buddha)and Greeks ruling there.. Every where they ruled they named place starting with their Kushan like names .. As far as I think Mahabharata and Ramayen were written in post Vedic period also all other mythological books . (Just from my research)

Don't appreciate false history khas people are intruders not soil related they were the armed forces of Chittore which is now in Rajasthan they came in Nepal with their servers and huge number of troops their animals then they became nomad spending times in forest search for safety place to save their religion and female from Mughal barbarism finally they reached anonymous state and spread themselves all over the region

You guys have kind of mixed up Vedic Brahmins and Khas Brahmins. Some Khas folks even turned into Brahmins. Because of Vedic Brahmins like Pandey, Bhatt, Tripathi (Tiwari), and all that, many Khas people headed to Varanasi to learn about Vedas, Shastras, and other vedic sanatan stuff which was different from trans Himalayan tantric sanatan.
Also, it'd be awesome if you could use examples from solid sources, 'cause this is a touchy topic. Mentioning folks like Keshav Man Shakya, who's all anti-Brahmin, anti-Chhetri, and anti-Hindu, might not be the best idea. By the way, kudos to you Gaurav and the team for covering this topic, and I hope you guys keep getting better, focusing more on the facts.
@ShishirAcharya-ux3qm You know what I mean, right? People have these crazy ideas about Khas people. Some even say Khas have Mongol blood, which doesn't make sense. The real Khas stuff is in khas brahmin and Jharra Chhetri, who haven't mixed with Khatri, GC, Ranabhat and bhote. Honestly, Brahmins and main Jharra Chhetri, they've got pretty much the same face. But nowadays, mamy Chhetri and some khas brahmin out western region of Nepal have mixed with Bhot people[normally people having mongol feature ] . And over time, Khas people have changed by facial and body structure. That's what I found in my Khas research.

Okay, the mistakes I'd like to point out.
1. Linguistics: Though you have mentioned different sources, you highlighted the Persian linguistic origins of Khas and dedicated a separate chapter to it, that is why I'm speaking here.
2. Religious demarcation: Your video somehow suggests Masto religion and Hinduism are different religions. Hinduism is an umbrella term which also encompasses Masto cultural practices as well as the practices of the Gangetic plains.
3. On Migration: The major patrilineal Y-chromosome haplogroup marker found in the Khas is R1A1, J2 and subclades of L, as in the rest of the Indo-Aryan groups. The Khas share the migration theory hypothesis as depending on AIT or OIT. None of them have been proved. They are equally contested thought the western academia is pushing a certain kind of propostion, it has in the modern years, been falsified.
4. Khas; Indic/Iranic: Khas are related to the Dards, Scythians and Shakas. They are an Indo-Aryan group. The presence of words such as /zun/ "moon" and /jum/ instead of /jāauñ/ for pl. imperative passive verb 'to go', serves as a remainder of the Dardic part of the language before Khas Bhāṣā got heavy influenced by Maithili and other Eastern IA tongues when the groups started migrating eastwards. But the video messing up chunks of AIT, posits Khas as an Iranic group somehow.
5. Brahmins as outsiders?: You offered up a divide on the Khas population saying the Khas Kṣatriyas maybe indigenous or not but the Brahmins are surely from India and arrived late to the scene. Well, Hill Brahmins are well-integrated into the Khas culture and can't be alienated. Moreover, pretty much every group in the country has arrived from somewhere else. Even the so called 'indigenous' ethnicities. Surely Maithils and Kirats are there from some seriously long time, but they too have migrated to some part in their time. This whole concept of 'indigenous' groups is an outdated concept modeled on the USA, and has no relevancy in Nepal as Nepal is itself a conglomerate combining small chunks of various cultural geo-entities. Why Khas arriving from Tibet are not alienated but HBs are questioned on indegeniosity.
6. The nationality/race in Tibet; Another thing I'd like to highlight is that. Though the Khas kings hailed from present day Tibet, they weren't Tibetans, because at that time that part of Tibet wasn't Tibet. There was a very little amount of genetic admixture with the Tibetans but most of the people around that belt were Aryans, even there were Tocharian-A and Tocharian-B kingdoms towards the north. The Aryans were connected till Russia. Tocharian -B was later even found to be an Indo-Iranic language.
7.Religious conversion:The Khas followed Vedic religion, converted into Buddhism and a few converted back to Hinduism. But the majority of Khas today also arrived from India. There were waves of migration. And most of today's modern day Khas were all originally Hindus.

There are several such Indo-European cultures like Parsis, Scythians related to the Vedic religion, I'd like you to refer to curwen ares rolinson who is the Indologist who can best explain in this regard. All this, 'we are different from mainland aryans' is a political stuff. Khas aren't a "Matwali" culture, what an outdated term btw. Khas culture is Indo-European and Aryan, only a liitle bit of genetic mixing with the Tibetans makes you think that. Even Hindu Newars think they are different just for having separate culture and myths. I'll tell you what even other IA groups have their own myths and retellings of the same event. You are failing to compare with other cultures, other related groups. To you the world is small. Bahuns can't be non-native to Khas under two premises;
1. They have assimilated into the Khas culture and language.
2. They aren't genetically any different than the Khasas.
