Licchavis ruled over Kathmandu. Not all of Nepal. In those times this was called Nepal. Licchavis are not Nepali rulers but Bihari rulers who ruled over kathmandu valley. At that time Bihar controlled Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur.

Rajasabha was the legislative body and more importantly the judicial system was not based on panchali system. There were grampanchali, parmashan, antarashan.
King mahendra acknowledged and adopted this lichhchabiw era system

I wanna know about heaven and hell from different points of view or soul satisfaction any of them, please
6:18 There is a mistake on your video. Please make the correction. If you are talking about lichchhavi dynasty making panchali system all over Nepal then there was no unified Nepal back then. If you are saying King Mahendra’s panchayat system was all over the Anglo Nepal, then during King Mahendra’s period we already lost the territories of Anglo Nepal. So you talking about the Anglo Nepal territory on 6:24 this time is misleading the information. Please check the fact and make the correction. Thanks

Mero video on Nepal history plz
❤ but 5.23 ? It seems like kurseong
1st comment😢
There are so many problems with the video.
Starting with Ajatshatru invasion of Vaishali,
This was done in the 3rd cen. BCE
while the earliest inscription in Nepal was found in Hadigaon of Jayaverma dated 1st cen. CE (and 3rd cen. CE by DC Regmi). Only after this point, historians agree that Lichchhivi entered Nepal.
Chandragupta I was not the grandson of Lichchhivi but the son-in-law of Lichchhivi as his wife Kumaradevi was a Lichchhivi. It was Samudragupta who called himself Lichchividauhitra (the son of the daughter of Lichchhivi).
However, Samudragupta in his Allahabad Inscription lines 22-23 identifies Nepal as one of the tribute-paying states as a result it is also argued that the Lichchhivi with whom Samudragupta associates is different than Lichchhivi Nepal. Dr. Regmi (in personal conversation) speculates the possibility of Gupta putting their kin Lichchhivi of Vaishali to be put in authority in Nepal.
Mandev's Changunarayan inscription states the land to be donated to Barmu (in present-day Newari term used for Bhramin) which is associated with the existence of Guthi.
There is also evidence of Jatra; "Nepali chronicles (Vamshawalis) date the tradition to at least the 6th century CE, discussing the feasting of Kumaris during the festival when the chariot carrying images of Mahadeva, a Hindu deity, is paraded in the streets." nepalayaproductions.com/post/kumari-of-kathmandu
But if my paper is read carefully, it's based on Vamshawali/chronicles which aren't as authentic as inscription, so we aren't as clear of the history as people assume.
Gupta was Vaishnav and in parallel structure, we find Lichchhivi were also Vaishnav but in the post-Gupta era India became Shaiv and this pattern repeated in Nepal as well, as Amshuverma became aligned (I will publish this in my upcoming paper).
As there is no consensus, I would recommend Sushant give the list of citations from which such videos are created. This video seems to be misleading and would strongly recommend doing more research before making such videos.
I agree.. citations of the material would be helpful. The materials available in the history of Nepal are not consistent. I have read that after Lichhavis there were Thakutis and Raghav Dev was the first among them. Would like to go through further materials.
Please read Thakuri :)
@@anishvaidya5595
There is no clear history of Thaku Juju,
I remember I read Slusser (Nepal Mandal) where she remarked that Thakur emerged from the term Thakurji used for god as master.
Dharmashastra only knows Kshetriya and not Thakuri Varna, while Lichchhivi and Malla were clans, there was no historic Thakuri clan.
We know families that remained in power even before the Mallas and these families are claimed to have existed in Lichchhivi era, so the Thakuri transition of Thaku juju seems to be more of a title and doesn't reveal any clear history.
Um can you suggest any credible sources regarding the history of ancient Nepal?
@@Hithere-qj1wj
The best choice is to read history from credible writers
Such as
Three Volume books - Medieval Nepal by DR Regmi,
Two Volume books - Nepal Mandal by Mary Sheperd Slusser.
There are many good books, but that would depend on the research agenda.
Education system
I think from shah dynasty downfall of nepal started
Because our trade with neighbors went down after British conquered India and Shah kings had bad relation with Tibet in the north. China went through century of humiliation. So Shah kings had to focus on military and keeping the country united rather than give any priority to development and welfare of people. Many Nepalese went to British India and learnt about industrialization and science but they stayed in Darjeeling and Sikkim as the Ranas didn't allow such intellectual Nepali to return and work for development and upliftment of awareness and education of normal people in the country
If Malla kings had access to knowledge of industrial revolution from the British, their kingdoms would've developed very rapidly but at the same time they would be small in size and we wouldn't have a unified country like today. The British would've easily captured the small kingdoms one by one and suffocated the valley to capture whole Nepal. So thanks to Shah kings for unification and our unified Nepali identity. We take this pride and march for development by using modern tools of 21st century to bypass the missed opportunities of the past 2 centuries
If there was no Shah, there would be no country called Nepal today and Nepal would have been only Kathmandu valley which would've been a district of Bihar, India. When Rana regime started in Nepal, the country's plight started.
Licchavis ruled over Kathmandu. Not all of Nepal. In those times this was called Nepal. Licchavis are not Nepali rulers but Bihari rulers who ruled over kathmandu valley. At that time Bihar controlled Kathmandu, Bhaktapur and Lalitpur.

its well researched and well explained but one thing that bugged me is about buddha he was pacifist philoshoper so howd he even suggest them to attack.he was strongly against war and killing each other im just giving my point as a buddist
it is said that when ajatsatru went near to buddha, buddha gave ashirwad to ajatsatru, and as ajatsatru and his father really helped buddha to establish his teachings, ajatsatru said as a ashirwad he wants secrets of how he could defeat lichavvis.

We are never taught about eastern Limbu/Rai ko history or western Khas (Bahun/Chhetri) ko history eventhough they had such a strong history.
That is what we are taught in our school books. Nepal equals Kathmandu.
