I started volunteering at childline as an online counsellor and also saw messages about chest binders and puberty blockers.. I also felt extremely uncomfortable with the attitude towards children suffering gender dysphoria and you could feel the woke ideology was becoming a primary focus! For that and health reasons I sadly left .. they’re pushing good therapists out of the industry for propaganda pushers! It won’t end well!!
Telling children hormone blockers are the answer instead of exploring it reminds me of when I've been diagnosed with depression... some doctors will literally just present anti depressants as the magic answer and aren't particuarly interested in exploring/addressing the problem. It is a slightly different issue, but nonetheless medicine in this country has become so focused on just finding a treatment that covers up the problem instead of investigating the root cause and treating that, which I find really frustrating.

Gender ideology and focus not on male survivors who did not experience safe intimacy as boys, just on those abused as teens and young adults. I did not feel listened to. Experiences of those abused from toddler age were overwhelming for the facilitators. More focus on identifying adult sexuality than developmental trauma.

I'm sorry to hear that, I did similar degree in late nineties when it wasn't as bad but it was certainly heading in the direction we are today. I literally felt depressed afterwards kicking myself for wasting 4 years but I can see it's utility in recent years as I can trace the source of the diabolical culture we are propagandised to live in to academia. If it's any consolation to you I know of 4 students in their 2nd year walked out of their degree together telling the university that they didn't want to be told what to think. I was diagnosed as autistic at age 45 a couple of years ago. I get emails from my local autistic society which I would like to join to do their group therapy. One thing stops me doing it though. The person who sends the email puts what she identifies as on her emails and she is the person that hosts the group. I want absolutely no part in any of that and I would guess that the people in the group are actively encouraged to to tell how they identify. I want to do the therapy to get better but I flatly refuse to call anybody other than he or she. I have struggled all my life with my mental health and now I feel as though I can't take the offer of therapy because of the idealisations.
