If he knew his parents were not in good terms with the wife and there is insecurity in the job then in the Nomination form they should add their parents as well. I feel sad for the parents who have invested in their son for years and now what they get is nothing. This is also case in civil where sons are throwing their parents out on street to beg. They should educate the soldiers of all these realities of life

Biswaranjan Pattanayak, the benefits of a soldier are automatically diverted to his wife and children after his death. But he can write to the Army and instruct that a part of the pension etc should go to his parents.

The family has finally spoken against the harrasment. It is important to speak against injustice. Just imagine this is the pain of family of Major Mohit Sharma. The system needs to be balanced. This is akin to dishonour of such heroes. The government must make sure that both the Family and wife of the soldier are taken care off. Both deserve equal mention and any compensation given must be divided accordingly. Currently the system is extremely biased.

@@sonabhalke3486 First and foremost do not include Maj Mohit in this. NOK status in those times were automatically allotted to the wife. Major Mohit would never approve of a situation where his parents were denied entry to the Republic day ceremony because his wife would refuse to invite them. Moreover any compensation either in the form of insurance lumpsum or pension must be divided to both the wife and parents of fallen soldiers. If laws give money to the lady then she must divide money accordingly provided parents get nothing. The idea is to make sure no one is left dependent and this is basic ethical nature which must be applied to both parents and wife. You say that people are earning and not dependent but truth is there are many cases where parents are left helpless with zero compensation and zero pension because of different circumstances in different areas/states. Read about Naib Subedar Chuni Lal (most decorated Indian soldier) whose parents got nothing while the wife walked away with everything leaving them in depleted condition. Read about Lance Naik Govind Bhadouriya whose wife was in the process of obtaining divorce as she had an affair with another man but immediately arrived and took all compensation when husband died in Operation. She was such a sadist that she even fought for the medal and later lost the case.. Imagine what his parents must have felt when they couldn't even hold the medal forget money. This is not about wife or parents but about fairly compensating everyone who is affected. In case of Major Sharma the family has kept respectable silence all these years but imagine the insult and dishonour they were subjected to when they had to barge in the Republic Day ceremony to see their own son being awarded posthumously... Today with god's grace they are well to do but this is not the case every time.

He might be receiving salary or pension but contrary to that she is also earning a good salary. Equal distribution should have been there in case of disagreement between the wife and parents of the major. No one has the sole right over his martyrdom. Even till now his father is paying loan EMIs for the house in which they aren't even allowed to enter. Pathetic.

माँ बाप पाल कर देश को बेटा देते हैं सरकार उनके साथ ऐसा सलूक करती है ऐसे माँ बाप का सम्मान होना चाहिए
ससुराल छोड़ने पर और दूसरी शादी करने के बाद सारे अधिकार समाप्त होने चहिए। कानून इसके तहत बनना चाहिए। और मां बाप को क्यों नहीं पूछा जाता है। जबकि सबसे बड़ा अधिकार मां बाप का है। और शहीद की पत्नी ससुराल में ही रहती है तो उसको सारे अधिकार हैं। मगर शादी करेगी तो सब कुछ समाप्त।

I raised this issue in smriti case also. NOK , misuse of female centric laws , all other related stuff . And all feminists came heavily . Luckily people awareness have increased and several voices in support of Parents have grown immensely..I hope this idiotic rules change and parents get their due recognition which should be primary and not secondary .🙏

I recently visited Major Mohit Sharma metro station in ghaziabad for exam centre and I'm grateful to the UP government to give metro station on the name of martyrs ❤ and it's beautiful and cleaned city and well maintained then Delhi. I also prayed their where Mohit Sharma sir statue was placed and I hope all people of India should be together when it's comes to nation 🙏❤

100% Responsibility lies with son. It is he who has to nominate his parents and wife. Daughter in law must give some financial support to parents. This is her responsibility.
No; son cannot do that. As per NOK rules, after marriage, the soldier's wife get the 1st preference and all preference in case of the soldier's death.. That's the rule.
Does nomination work in nok? I have not been able to find it out.Will applies to “estates” only,pension and pensionary benefits are given to nok only.But can a military personnel change his/her nok.Because after marriage nok is by default changed to spouse.
@@karv80The pension benefits are switched to the wife after marriage, it is true. But soldiers can write to the authorities and add their parents name to the NoK. They can also mention the percentage of allocations to each party.
