- Welcome to another Don't Starve Together guide! Today I'm going to show you how to get as many sproutrocks and gloomthorn trees as possible without sailing for entire seasons looking for message bottles. Hope you enjoy the guide and let me know what you think of the new ancient trees!

The Staying Afloat Update adds skill trees for Wurt and Winona, reworks the Crab King fight, and adds a slew of quality of life updates to the ocean content of Don't Starve Together. Sunken Chests received new loot tables which include archaic boat kits and surprising seeds. Marrotters are a new mob that have been added to the coastline waters of the mainland, pirate raids have new behavior where they sometimes appear with raidable loot. Also added were kelp boat patches, signs of Powder Monkeys territory on sea stacks, new ocean set pieces, a new Pearl trade and a new Salt Lick made of actual salt!

Crab King dropping the bottles means he HAS been getting at least some of the messages and holding on to them.
Which is a pretty sad reveal!!
I’m really wondering what Pearl/Crab king lore really is.
It’s sure they were very close to each other, but what happened to them is still a mystery to me.
Never thought someone would ever suggest that I fight Crab King regularly.
Considering that without the pearl, Crab is one of the easiest bosses in the game, and if there are new bumpers, killing it every 20 days now really makes sense.

Yeah wickerbottom is absolutely busted buts it’s kinda bs that Maxwell can use her whole kit and it just costs him more sanity which isn’t really a downside since you can just wear bone helm
Yeah, base always rich when team has wicker and maxwell
Small pro tip for servers / groups of friends: The bottle spawning is per player, so if you get a bunch of people on one boat and sail around, you will be swimming in bottles.
Definitely noticed that on multiplayer! Absolutely raining bottles.
I’m going to get as many Gloomthorns as I can just to have them dotted in my swamp base for Wurt 😊

Like shadow servants? The craftmerms are pretty good with tools at this point, they can even roll farm soil!

Question, is the 10 treasures the max amount a world can have until the others are fished up so others can spawn, or it it only ten can spawn in general, so like mandrakes they're a limited resource that doesn't replenish unless you can find a really weird way to get more like krampus
I should’ve worded that more clearly. It’s a global cap of 10 but you can get more after you’ve fished them up.
I'm a newer player so I don't really get the same opinion as older players fighting the old crab king but personally I believe the new one is an improvement.
I have seen someone uses applied silviculture book to grow geode fruit immediately
I don’t know exactly if that thing still exist because when I use it (I play on ps4)
The book spends some of its durability but I don’t get any geode fruit in the process
Got patched in the beta, it was so broken!

The otters also drop message in a bottle sometimes. Would it ever be worth making a farm for them? You can relocate their dens after all since they function as boats
I heard they will pick up bottles that spawn in the ocean; not sure how often they spawn if there’s no player sailing nearby.
@@JazzysGames the scrapbook links together message bottles and otters so i think its part of the drop table (but i wouldnt be surprised if the scrapbook itself was just giving misinformation)
Me (Wicker main) realizing the Librarian just became even godlier than before... and her skill tree isn't even out yet
They will either nerf her to give books in skilltree or tree will be as useless as Wilson and wurt one
Hey guys, does anyone knows when the nightberry and geode fruit grows again after the first harvest?
For me is usually took around 20-25 days, may have changed in a recent patch. I’m away from my computer for the week so can’t check the files, unfortunately
I thought you were talking about farming monkey raids for their new treasure but I guess that's the ones that only spawn naturally, I'm not sure...

Hey I've never best crap king how you get the pearl after u beat crap king or is he dropping the pearl and wich gems and how many I should use I wanna try kill him with merms
Niche take but you should be able to analyze what type of seed it is with a gardener hat and wormwoods seed skill. Mostly cause I can see klei adding more types of seeds down the line and I don’t wanna play the guessing game on console🤣
Its permanent too. I made a whole chart and guide just so i can take a screen shot of 1 thing and have all this info, and i wrote the seed names corresponding to the food, only to find out when i researched it, it unlocked what it was in every server there after

How many gems does a tree produce at a time? And it's once every season you say?
According to the code it’s supposed to be a range between 12-25 days, but most of the time I only see the max value getting used.
When is the update

@@Travar1410 Klei is done with DS on HAMLET, and they don't plan to update DS anymore. And besides, I don't see any reason why DS needs updates. Have they removed the game from Steam? No, i guess. You can always just go back to your favorite game.

Idk, resetting the ruins and farming df seems easier options for me.
I do plenty of that too! Gemrock trees are definitely not powerful enough to replace the ruins; drop rates for ruins gems aren’t even that good. It’s still a nice supplement to the effort of getting more gems that requires very little work once planted.
@@JazzysGamesim just wondering how you ever run out of gems in this game, after ruins you have like 20 red blue and purple gems and they really do not dwindle quickly
For blue and red gems the tree's are easily better but for orange, yellow and green gems the ruins and Dfly farming are easily better. If you really wanted blue and red gems though a Varg farm would be better than the tree's.
They are the worse method of actively getting gems BUT it requires no work on your end unlike the other methods which heavily makes up for it. Its passive gem generation. Im gonna spam these tree's so i dont have to kill Dfly or reset the ruins again.
