- Hey -
A viewer asked if I knew if it is possible to run a Wyze Cam off of a portable solar panel. Luckily I happened to already have one I use for camping and hurricane prep. Check out the results in the video.
The portable solar panel in the video is a 21watt folding panel from Nekteck -

Hey great video had a question, does this solar panel Store energy so the camera would work at night
No, it doesn't have a battery. You'd need to route it thru a pass-thru power bank to use it like that. But you'd probably want a solar panel more suited for exposure than portability like this one.
Nice look at a backup system.
Thank you.
The answer is no. If you try you will not get continuous recording. That solar panel needs a back up battery for it to run day and night and even then you will lose continuous recording in which will make your camera less effective.
Agreed
Now all Wyze needs to do is make a Wyze Outdoor V2 with a card slot for continuous recording and no need for a power bank due to the battery being inside the camera.
And a solar panel on top
