I get it though its about keeping an income stream going. But yeah, the product is not actually that good and is a glorified IPad controller. Presonus is the only company that does a great control surface integration. I'm also a Android and Windows user and have no time for Apple products. Been there and wasted money on overly expensive Apple kit that either breaks or gets junked due to software updates.
I spend about 10K for the midi surface C24... after years, it doesn't work anymore with the newer PT version... I have to buy a new console, naaa. I stop buying AVID hardware and move to other options.
To be slightly more fair. EUCON is the latest and greatest. Those devices will probably last for a long long time since EUCON doesn't have the limitations the old protocols had. I just wished that they would create a C|24 EUCON version. The S4 is the replacement for it but it's so much more expensive than the C|24 and I don't like the layout on it.
@@annekedebruyn7797 AVID don't create anything, like Apple, simply appropriate existing products, rebadge and sell at 10x the price. You can guarantee their products will be obsolete and unuseable .
Great engineer but clearly earning extra income from up-selling this kit. Studio One and their Presonus Faderport 16 is vastly superior to this and is cheaper. The major disadvantage is to work correctly it has to be use with Studio One. Tried it with ProTools and functionality is poor.
