Now Available at BSG
brisound.com.au/collections/punqtum
IP-BASED DIGITAL PARTYLINE
Events, concerts, corporate shows, film or broadcasting sets need reliable communication systems. With so many moving parts the risk of failure is simply too big without proper team communication in place.
The good news is that with everything going digital you can easily use the network that might be available anyway. You just need a switch and to plug in a couple of beltpacks. Here you go: Your first digital intercom system is ready to go.
Why still opt for analogue systems that need additional cables and wiring and yet only deliver a poor and noisy result?
Based on standard IP network technology punQtum offers a plug & play digital intercom system with a multitude of communication channels on a single wire. Easy to install. Easy to use. Reliable. And crystal clear. With so many venues establishing their own CAT-5 based infrastructure, what keeps you from going digital?

For mixing (with Pro Tools or Logic Pro), do you think the Avid Dock + S1 or the SSL1 UF1+UF8+UC1 is better? Another thing: do you think new controllers will be released in 2025 by AVID, SSL and Universal Audio or will the ones available on the market until now continue for a while longer?

I’m considering purchasing one of the following bundles: the SSL UF1, UF8, and UC1 Bundle; the Softube Fader and Channel MK3 Bundle; or the Avid Dock + S1. However, in Brazil, we lack proper showrooms to test these setups, so I’m relying on manuals and TH-cam reviews for guidance. If you have any recommendations between these bundles specifically for 3D mixing and immersive audio in both music and audiovisual projects, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you!

If you're working in a pro studio with a million dollars worth of hardware, then yeah, ProTools is a good choice. They can afford the best. Many artists create their stems in Logic Pro, Cubase or Ableton Live. But the big studios will mix them in ProTools.

The reason the "Pros" use to use Pro Tools because they could monitor in real time with zero latency just like an old analog tape recorder with analog console. As years passed computer processors reached the point where external hardware was no longer needed with a low latency converter to do that making all these newer DAWS just as efficient as Pro Tools. The "Pros" still use it because , well, they spent a fortune and it doesn't make any sense to learn a new DAW at 60 years old. I'm 68 and spent 20 years with analog before home computers existed. I owned most of the Scully, Ampex, MCI and Student multitracks. About 20 years ago I started using Nuendo then later Pro Tools by client request. I've tried some other DAWs enough to record and playback a few tracks and they are all good in the last 5 years. At the end of the day you make a choice and spend your money and be happy and make sweet music with what you have. Awesome age for today's new musicians.
