You're fame might not be meteoric, but I'm sure all your impacts were. I've never heard of you airborne jumpers miss landing, only sometimes miss the landing zone. Compacted spines might night result in a stadium full of fans cheering you on, but it does let us have stadiums filled with fans cheering in relative peace.
Are the military issue parachutes like these ones in the video? I thought you guys used the round ones in which you can't really control where you're going. At least not as good as these square ones.

When I turned 50 years old, I treated myself to my first parahute jump. When I was about to exit the small plane, I remember looking out the open door and was then instantly scared to death. However, once I was out wth my chute open, it was a wonderful experience.

If they are dropping behind enemy lines they would do what is called a HALO jump. Basically jumping from an extreme altitude and opening your parachute at very low altitude. Making it really difficult to spot unless you knew the general area they were rallying at and looked at it right when they deployed the chutes.
Then again you think of the number of world war 2 pilots who survived doing double barrel rolls with lead flying past their faces only to end up dying a decade or so later as pilots in a commercial airline crash. It's like for some people they are in more danger the safer the task is.
Imagine being a retired Seal, sitting home drinking a beer watching Demolition Ranch and then you get a call "Hey you wanna do a jump this weekend into a stadium?"
I mean as a navy seals he's definetly jumped many times before, and you can hear in his voice he's not that excited, but instead trying to keep things coordinated, so I think his adrenaline levels were rather low

It is also not customary to fly it anytime, only on special occasions such as national holidays. You won't see second hand car dealerships flying the our flag every day. It's not forbidden but it's frowned upon.

Absolutely incredible. What most people probably don’t understand is that while jumping isn’t very dangerous at all, this sort of formation jump is EXTREMELY dangerous if not done perfectly. Anybody makes a mistake and runs into someone’s chute or lines, and everybody’s tangled together in a death dive. Cutting away to a reserve won’t help you if you’re tied to someone else. Absolute chads right here.
Canopy Relative Work has been done by sport parachutists for years. Doing HAHO jumps. But yeah, I’ve seen when CRW has gone wrong… but generally you just separate and the the canopy re-inflates. But if not, you cut it away and go reserve. Biggest pain is finding your cutaway canopy because they aren’t cheap.
My dad was a cook in the British RAOC. He said he challenged the Navy Seals, Delta, Rangers etc etc to eat his food - nobody took him up on it. So...SAS for the win :-)
It’s very quiet up there. There’s a lot of wind noise being picked up by the mic when the guy with the camera on his helmet turns his head, but it’s really pretty quiet and easy to talk.

@@haydenrogers3486 No. To experienced precision skydivers this is way easier than a walk in the park. In the accuracy skydiving discipline, they land on a spot on the ground where dead center is less than an inch wide.
I don't know if you can pick up on it in the video but the jumper with the camera and his partner where flying so close that at one point (roughly 1:40 in the video) he actually had his boots touching the other mans chute then at roughly the 3:00 mark they actually had their legs linked. That calls for not only an enormous amount of skill but an insane level of trust in your partner. Well done.

Lets just say each have their strengths and weaknesses because each have a specific mission set. The Seals are better at the covert behind the lines set because that is their mission. The Rangers have to be able to handle the main battle against near peer units because that is their mission. Both are excellent units that serve their country, each in their own way.

@traditional arts not usually these guys. seals parachute into the ice-cold ocean, feet first in the complete dark. where the night sky meets the blackened, churning waters. then they swim to a sandy shore, soaking through, freezing and dirty, sand in their shoes and gear. and THEN the mission would start. with a good 20 pounds of water weight dragging your heels into the mud. its exceptional!
I always grab hold of my chair when I watch this. I have no worries when they are free-falling or when the chute opens. It's the bit about looking down from the back-end of the plane that always gives me vertigo. My eyes don't know what to focus on.
This is the part about the military that I will always cherish. The comradery, the knowing that your buddies will always have your back. You will never make friends like the ones you will make in the military. Those were some of the best of times. 👍

@@billthompson2301 I wondered that too. In my country it's against flag protocol for the flag to touch the ground. It is also not customary to fly it anytime, only on special occasions such as national holidays. You won't see second hand car dealerships flying the our flag every day. It's not forbidden but it's frowned upon.

My son-in-law is in the Navy and I am so incredibly proud of him! He is currently in law school and because of his service, he is able to attend a wonderful law school for his education. I am so thankful for every person who is and has served our country in our military. The bravery, commitment and dedication is an inspiration!
Knowing that we have so many amazing people who are willing to protect us during the difficult times gives me peace of mind that is especially important to me. I am blessed with 7 fantastic children + fabulous 2 son-in-laws and 6 precious grandchildren and many more family members, friends and neighbors and an entire country full of wonderful people! I can never express how much I appreciate all of you and your families for your important and valuable service 🩷🇺🇸
Skydiving is hands down the most exhilarating feeling I've ever felt. That crowd roaring at the end probably made this 10x better for them.

Absolutely incredible.
What most people probably don’t understand is that while jumping isn’t very dangerous at all, this sort of formation jump is EXTREMELY dangerous if not done perfectly. Anybody makes a mistake and runs into someone’s chute or lines, and everybody’s tangled together in a death dive. Cutting away to a reserve won’t help you if you’re tied to someone else. Absolute chads right here.

Wow. I didn't realize that. Just a random gust of wind (somewhat low probability) could increase the risk of colliding into each other by a lot.
Why do it then? I don't think people in the stadium can appreaciate the difficulty involved.
Canopy Relative Work has been done by sport parachutists for years. Doing HAHO jumps. But yeah, I’ve seen when CRW has gone wrong… but generally you just separate and the the canopy re-inflates. But if not, you cut it away and go reserve. Biggest pain is finding your cutaway canopy because they aren’t cheap.
I was actually wondering about that. I saw their chutes so close together, and I was like, "wait... surely that's kinda dangerous?" 😂

It’s very quiet up there. There’s a lot of wind noise being picked up by the mic when the guy with the camera on his helmet turns his head, but it’s really pretty quiet and easy to talk.

I don't know if you can pick up on it in the video but the jumper with the camera and his partner where flying so close that at one point (roughly 1:40 in the video) he actually had his boots touching the other mans chute then at roughly the 3:00 mark they actually had their legs linked. That calls for not only an enormous amount of skill but an insane level of trust in your partner. Well done.
It’s called Canopy Relative Work..Been done for years in the jumping community but yea if you’re not careful things can go bad
SEALS trust each other with their lives, it’s kind of a beautiful thing tbh. But yeah, trust is a huge HUGE part of a team of SEALS.

Lets just say each have their strengths and weaknesses because each have a specific mission set. The Seals are better at the covert behind the lines set because that is their mission. The Rangers have to be able to handle the main battle against near peer units because that is their mission. Both are excellent units that serve their country, each in their own way.

@traditional arts not usually these guys. seals parachute into the ice-cold ocean, feet first in the complete dark. where the night sky meets the blackened, churning waters.
then they swim to a sandy shore, soaking through, freezing and dirty, sand in their shoes and gear. and THEN the mission would start. with a good 20 pounds of water weight dragging your heels into the mud. its exceptional!

I always grab hold of my chair when I watch this. I have no worries when they are free-falling or when the chute opens. It's the bit about looking down from the back-end of the plane that always gives me vertigo. My eyes don't know what to focus on.
This is the part about the military that I will always cherish. The comradery, the knowing that your buddies will always have your back. You will never make friends like the ones you will make in the military. Those were some of the best of times. 👍
