    Finally found a vidoe that talked in length about how to deal with contacts when on accutane! I just started accutane and been bugged the most about how should i deal with eye dryness when I’m been wearing contacts for most of my days. Thank you for this tip! ❤

    Girl, I have always felt the same way about embracing it. Heck no, acne is an imbalance and not a natural part of me. It’s a terribly stubborn condition. I’ve tried it all and my diet was pristine and my acne only got slightly better. I think it’s still worth eating clean and taking all the anti acne supplements but accutane seems to be what finally wins the war on acne.

    Started 40mg a month ago. The purge was not horrible but emotionally very difficult to deal with. Dry skin and lips are manageable. My skin is starting to look great. My hair is almost never greasy. Otherwise no other side effect. Tomorrow i have my first blood test so i hope everything would be fine.

    I really thought people were being dramatic when they talked about how dry their lips get. I thought to myself, “There’s no way these people are properly moisturizing themselves”. I have used lip masks every night for over 3 years. My lips have always been my most complimented physical feature. But…my God…I am dryer than the Sahara desert. My lips are so dry I’m scared they won’t ever go back to normal again. Month 2 of 6 on Accutane. I’ve never wanted time to move as quickly as I do now.

      @@christinag.511 I kept skincare very very simple while on accutane as that’s what’s also recommended! For face wash I used the neutrogena ultra gentle daily cleanser. For moisturizer i used the CeraVe moisturizing cream (the thick one that comes in a tub) and then I also used Vaseline for my lips and put it on the skin around my lips as well whenever I could to prevent cracking
      After accutane I kept my routine the same for a long while probably around 2 years and the only thing I added was tretinoin cream 0.25% which my dermatologist gave me once I finished accutane and she advised me to put it on if I ever got a spot so I used it sporadically only when that happened

      Accutane did not have any long term damaging effects on my health... Everyone who is on it needs to get blood work done every month and health is closely monitored so that nothing seriously damaging happens. It’s pretty rare for that to happen and if I were to go back in time I would still choose to go on it again because it actually changed my life and anyone with severe acne understands the struggle of it. Not to mention, I’m perfectly healthy now :)

    • @georgiareed7743
      @georgiareed7743 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NasreenK you’re really ignorant if you truly think that taking a couple blood tests is going to prevent longterm harm to your health in the future. Actually, most people who have been harmed by accutane took blood tests monthly and had normal results. That’s because the blood tests only look at a tiny fraction of all the problems that can happen in your body - it doesn’t detect potential mitochondria/dna damage!
      Most people end up getting health problems within a few years of taking accutane, so you have that to look forward to. It’s too soon for you to tell how it will harm your health.
