I found that park incredibly difficult to navigate because there is no main concourse to walk completely around the park. Too many ramps and stairs and bypass areas. I went the first week it opened so maybe things have improved?

Rays are so good. My Padres need to find their stride or we’re not making the playoffs. I love our stadium, you can’t beat the food choices and the beers. Glad you enjoyed it!

On July 2, 2009, MLB experienced the first game delayed/halted by a swarm of bees at Petco Park in a game between the Padres and the Houston Astros. A small swarm of honeybees took up residence around a chair in left field, causing the game to be delayed by 52 minutes. A beekeeper was called in and the swarm was exterminated.
Petco Park is probably the nicest ballpark I’ve been to (YET) and I worked there for a year for guest services and for the production for the games. Nice city I’ll miss it but I’m glad to be home home soon.

Adam I really enjoyed San Diego. My son was stationed in the Navy over on North Island across the Coronado Bridge. He was on one of the big aircraft carriers San Diego will always have a part of my heart. I really enjoyed you and Chris together. It was so much fun to listen to the funny jokes and listen to both of you laugh and enjoy a baseball. Have a blessed trip⚾🧢

My son and I stayed at the Omni in 2021 when we went to follow the Rockies on a west coast road trip to play the Dodgers, Angels, and Padres. I’m not sure why she did it, but the front desk clerk put us on the 21st floor in a corner room overlooking Petco Park and downtown. The views were amazing. We saw the tail end of the getaway game between the A’s and Padres from our room. That Omni bridge entrance from the 3rd floor is pretty nice. It is a great perk, I agree.

I was near there in October last year in the Hilton. Really loved the marina and Gaslamp District, can't wait to go back. I hope the plan to renovate the area around the Trop ends up a lot like this.
