I wanted to make African/Nigerian snacks so I tried this last night and it turned out so well. My Nigerian boyfriend was impressed (and amused???) 😄 Thanks so much!!! -Filipino girl here 😊😊😊
God Bless You my sister. Chin Chin is so GOOD! I'm going to make some for my husband. Yes I got married in 2016 to my 5th grade crush. we are both so happy.
Thank you for all Your wonderful recipes! I am from Sweden, and I cant wait to try chin chin and all the other food I have read about in Nigerian books!
Came to drop my testimonial 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. Today is the second time I'm making chinchin after learning from you, maami and my friends are testifying to how great it is. Can't wait to start the Business when we resume back to school. Thank you so mum, maami❤️❤️❤️
Don't add eggs to your chin chin if you want it to keep longer. Correction please, the soft crunchy texture of chin chin is not achieved by adding eggs. It's by adding more than a little enough margarine and gentle kneading. Don't work the dough for too long or the dough will form a streachy tough texture which gives you a hard texture after frying
My dear eh! I made chin chin for the first time in June (last month) when I traveled to Naija. I hated myself! 😤 the whole oil foamed like omo?! 😫 guess how many eggs I added for 7 cups of flour???!! Sssssssssssix!!!!😭😭😭 it was my sister that told me that it was tew much! 😭😭😭 I had no flour left to remedy my useless mistake 😤 In fact writing this, is making me more angry with myself. But I'm ready to right my wrong. I will follow this recipe like expo. If the result comes out like yours eh? Ms Flo, I will jump on you all the way from US and give you kisses all over your cheeks 😁😁😁 God help me! 😭😭😭
Hi Aunty Flo, I was discussing with someone about Nigeria chinchin, I was telling him that what pissed me off the most is the frying; mine get burnt easily. He said he baked his. I went thru your channel and I couldn't see anything of such. I want to request you make a review video of the baked method and let us know if its the same result as our regular frying method. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks
Ayodeji turn down the heat and it will stop burning. Also do not dust the chin chin with loose flour. When the loose flour are set free in the oil, they speed up burning. Baked chin chin is not the norm that's why it's not on my channel. Some people do it to cut down on oil. Baked goods are never the same as fried goods because the food or snack benefits from being fried in oil. I will see what I can do. Next time I want to fry chin chin, I will bake some and see.
All Nigerian Recipes , thanks for this I will follow your advice when next I want to make it. It's good news that you will try it out. I can't wait to view it 😄😄💃💃💃💃
All Nigerian Recipes I made some today it was super easy for me to fry... My oil was super clear, no sediment of flour as I do experience before. Thanks for the advice.
First of all, the video thumbnail is beautiful.....2nd of all, i need this chin chin in mi life. I just might🤔. Daalu for sharing onye nkem. My love to the family & the best of the seasons.🤗
Dear aunty Flo, I've always followed your recipe and it works perfectly. But I used this recipe and the dough came out so soft that it was sticking to my chopping board so I added more flour. My chin chin ended up being soft. Any reason as to why this happened?
Oh Uche, I am so sorry to read that. It means the dough contains too much liquid. Did you add water? Please only add water if necessary. If after mixing with just the milk and you feel the dough is too thick, you can add a little water. But if your dough looks like mine (the thickness), then no need to add water.
Hello love, Please would it be ok if I used a deep fryer for this chinchin. ..as some say a deep fryer ain't good for a perfect job..but I would like to know your idea on this.. Tnx much
I don't like using a deep fryer for chin chin, puff puff and other Nigerian snacks because the wire mesh that most deep fryers come with scatters the snack.
All Nigerian Recipes oh great. .thought as much. ..just searching for an option to the little usual frying pan...an option to use for a large quantity of chinchin?
If you followed the exact quantities of ingredients, it can be any of the following: the oil was not hot enough during frying, you overcrowded the chin chin in the oil or you cut the chin chin too big.
Good afternoon ma, I have honey well flour can I make use of it and can I use milk flavour as my peak milk? Please ma what is d measurement for sugar using d measuring cup
I’ll love to try this your style, and thanks for that info on foamy oil. I didn’t see you use the water at any point, is baking powder not also necessary?
Ahh Lillian good point. That water was just for when absolutely necessary. You remember where I said not to be tempted to add more liquid? I meant to add also that if you've tried your best and you really really can't get the dough to form, you can add water in bits till the dough forms.
Your recipe on your site calls for 8cups of flour which is 2kg approximately since 1cup is 8ozs and 2cups give you 16ozs which is a pound , therefore in order to get 1kg or 2.2Ibs, you need 4 cups or 32ozs.
thanks for the brilliant video. followed the instructions as I have craved badly for this but it was a fail for me. everything melted in the oil. the only thing different is that I used gluten free flour. Where did I miss it, pls🤔
Florence Ohale that gluten-free flour is the culprit. You need all purpose flour for chin chin. At least the flour must contain gluten to keep it together in the hot oil.
Hi THANK you so much for your recipe I tried it and it was amazing.please I want to do this in a larger scale I want to know if adding eggs is necessary or not when you are going commercial with chinchin. Thanks
I love this video ma. Well done. However, noticed you didn't add baking powder in your recipe. Does it mean that baking powder is not required in chin chin? Need your response ASAP ma
I am just seing this video. And i want to ask. How long does it take to store the chin chin in a tight container after frying it. Like should someone store it after 2, 3 mins you are done frying it?
Hi Flo, thanks for the recipe. When you say one can of milk is that the standard small can size? Also when you say 1/2 a cup of sugar is that a US measurement. I live in the U.K. and find the cup system rather confusing. Thanks for giving flour measurements in kg. Stay safe, Stella

Wowzzzz v wonderful,
Nice mixtures but I guess it's necessary to sprinkle flour on the table B4 cutting
Hello love,

If you followed the exact quantities of ingredients, it can be any of the following: the oil was not hot enough during frying, you overcrowded the chin chin in the oil or you cut the chin chin too big.
I don't have peak milk. Can I use whole liquid milk. And what ml??
Yes, like Andrea wrote, evaporated milk. 1 tin of peak milk is 157 mls.

I love ur recipe and attitude madam👍
