Reolink Argus 4 / 4 Pro | 180 degree wide-angle 4k surveillance camera with ColorX/battery | review

- My collection of Reolink cameras is getting bigger and bigger and I am always happy to recommend the manufacturer when someone asks me for a good and affordable surveillance camera.
The Argus 3 Pro is still doing its job for me and, in my opinion, was one of the best compact battery-powered WLAN video cameras on the market at the time. Now the Argus 4 or Argus 4 Pro is here and offers a lot more than its predecessor, although the differences are so great that it's more of an evolution than a revolution.
The 4 comes with a viewing angle of 180 degrees, which is of course only possible thanks to 2 lenses that merge the image into one. 4K resolution (5120x1440 pixels at 15 FPS) is offered so that hopefully every face can be recognized in the images. At night, there is also an LED spotlight and night vision or, with the Pro, ColorX, a special mode that lets you look at the scenery at night as if it were daytime and makes maximum use of the lenses' capabilities. The WLAN is also up to date and comes with Wifi 6. The 5000 mAh battery or rechargeable battery can be charged with an optional solar panel. Here, 10 minutes of sunlight is enough for one day of operation, although of course this does not mean "continuous" recording. The IP66 certification logically also guarantees outdoor use. As with previous Reolink cameras, motion detection is also on board, which in this case even covers the entire wide field of view thanks to the 170 degree PIR sensor.

Die 180 Grad Blickwinkel sind schon beeindruckend

Reolink mausert sich immer mehr zu einem Hersteller, der viele Funktionen bringt, die der Konkurrenz voraus sind
Sehe ich auch so. Zumindest wenn man auf Kameras guckt, die man auch halbwegs bezahlen kann.
ColorX oder wie das heißt sieht sehr beeindruckend aus. Es ist ja quasi Nacht und man sieht noch die Details
Der Nachtmodus ist tatsächlich aus meiner Sicht eines der absoluten Highlights, ja
Kann die Argus 4 Pro auch endlich auf einem NAS die Videos ablegen?
Leider ist das immer noch eine Schwachstelle bei Reolink. Auf das eigene System von Reolink geht das zwar, aber nicht auf ein beliebige NAS, wie Synology oder sowas.
Reicht das Solarpanel aus, um die Kamera ohne Strom zu betreiben?
Das hängt von 2 Dingen ab:
1. Wie oft wird die Kamera zur Aufnahme getriggert
2. Wie gut ist die Sonneneinstrahlung auf Montageort
Wenn 1 eher mittel bis gering ist und 2 hohe Sonneneinstrahlung hat, genügt es. Ich denke man das muss das am jeweiligen Aufstellort ausprobieren.
Ist die Bildqualität gut? Wie würdest Du das einordnen?
Ja, sie ist gut, aber eben nicht überragend. Nachts ist sie dann wieder sehr gut.
Hab die Argus 3 Pro. Lohnt sich ein Upgrade?
Also wenn Du nur eine Überwachungskamera brauchst, dann nicht unbedingt. 180 Grad ist aber zum Beispiel ein Feature, was Du natürlich mit der 3er nicht hast.

Kann man einzelne Videos mittlerweile in der App löschen?
Das geht, soweit ich es weiß, leider immer noch nicht.
Das Solarpanel ist aber mehr Gadget, als wirklich Hilfe, oder?
Es hilft schon, wenn es vernünftige Einstrahlung bekommt.
Preis ist natürlich schon nicht so ganz niedrig
Korrekt, ist keine Budget Kamera, aber dafür hast Du ja auch einige Premium Features.
Die App ist aber immer noch eher schwer zu bedienen
Insgesamt ist das schon gut, was da mittlerweile geht und wie man es bedient. An der ein oder anderen Stelle gibt es aber sicher noch Verbesserungsbedarf
