    I like this reaction, just saw your Pices reaction and enjoyed it so I subbed, and recommended this one and Teacher, Teacher. Then saw you had actually done these already, so that was kool. I'm just an old metal guy who stumbled across the Pieces reaction video way back, and as soon as I finished it, I spent the rest of that day bingeing on Jinjer. So now, here I am, try out I speak Astronomy, next maybe. Otherwise you're doing a great job. I like that you talk about both the song and each piece as well. Cheers

    Bryan~ Thank you for your reactions. I've entered a subscribe and a like. Here's the thing I like most about your reaction video - I greatly appreciate your informed understanding of the music. You know what a blast beat is. You know what these things are...so when you're reacting to it, it's "informed" opinion. And I greatly appreciate that. While every song's lyrics means something different to each person...you're putting the lyrics as a part of the overall reaction is very impressive and important. Thank you very much. There are TONS of reaction videos to Jinjer (and others)...but I think you have done one of the best, most complete jobs in the review. That is appreciated.

    There are tons of reaction/analysis videos, but yours are above the norm. When I see, the track is done, and I'm only a third through the video, I know, you have something to say. That earned you a sub. Easily. 🤘🏻 and thanx for not continously interrupting the song like so many others

      Thanks for noticing the continuous playback. When I started the channel I made it a goal to provide feedback without pausing because it ruins the flow and pacing of the song. I've had a few people request that I pause the song as to not talk over it but for the most part I'm happier with this format and it's always nice to hear that people enjoy it as well.

    Teacher, teacher IMO also has storytelling through music in the sense that the rapping is probably the first day at school, the heavy parts represent anger at the school, the chorus represents hope and resistance, the blast beats represent conflict, the second rapping part is realization (same melody tho, maybe still angry), and the end is acceptance and determination (I smile at you). The ending is more blast beats maybe to represent that the school hasn't broken him and that he still rebels against society. Note that the first chorus ends angry which transitions into blast beats (conflict) and the second one calmly which transitions into a calm melody (acceptance and determination).
    Idk if this is a good analysis I'm just winging it hear boys. But I think you could make a case for lyrical and melodic storytelling.

    The chain flows in the other direction. The guys create something and send Tati demos. She says "they don't even ask me my opinion." Then she listens and figures out what the song inspires in her, and writes lyrics. Eugene says they have no idea what she's going to sing until final recording and she heavily improvises in the studio. Tati says of her vocals on Macro "I wasn't prepared." As to what technique she uses - I give up, who knows. It is either exceptionally deep and powerful fry screams, exceptionally sustained false cord growls, or something unique she came up with.

    • @j.f.fisher5318
      @j.f.fisher5318 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd suggest rolling back to something old of theirs to see where they came from. Destroy was sung by their male original singer, then inherited and brutally owned by Tati when she joined the band.

      @@j.f.fisher5318 - Judging by Tatiana's answer in that video, it seems she watched the "discussion" about her vocal technique on the video where she said she doesn't do Fry Screaming. At least she now admits even she doesn't exactly know what she does, that's probably why some people say it's one thing and others say it's another thing. I wonder if she unknowingly invented a new screaming technique... : )

    • @j.f.fisher5318
      @j.f.fisher5318 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@Module79L I wondered if she was responding to the discussion as well. It seems entirely plausible she could have discovered something, or that there might be something unique about her anatomy that allows her to do something unusual. I feel like she has unusual vocal flexibility, but I have no idea what would allow this. Also, it seems that not even modern science fully understands everything going on when it comes to vocal ability and that the operation of the false folds is particularly little-known.

    Going to go ahead and tell ya, this is my new favorite band. I have all of their albums, and I can confirm for you, they do NOT have a bad song. There might be some "weak" tracks, but that's comparing them to their own stellar output. So, a weak track by them is probably on par with another band's best output. They just know their craft, and can weave into different time signatures at will, and Tatiana can write on top of it, which would take me a lifetime to learn to do with their heavy-prog influence. I don't know how she does it. Just stellar, man.
    You do need older Jinjer in your life though, man. You just don't know it yet. Anything off of "Cloud Factory" is a master class. The first 5 tracks on that album ("Outlander", "A Plus or A Minus", "No Hoard of Value", "Cloud Factory", and "Who is Gonna Be the One") are simply perfection on a musical, and lyrical level.

    Another note in an interview eugene said that he doesn't even consider jinjer a metal band at all. They are just "extreme musicians" like softer than everyone on softs, harder than everyone on hard parts. They been experimenting non stop on every instrument other than maybe guitar. They have a song which is raggae ish, jazz sounds etc etc. They love to implement all those things in their songs and make incredible music. KEEP LISTENING, YOU WILL GET MORE IMPRESSED. Great reactions btw, very educational and interesting for me. Subbed.

    This song has a very nice one-shot-live version, and it's amazing. The lyrics of this song are also great, I feel are very anti-specism, Tatiana said recently in a interview, that she tried to go vegan for a while, so it could come from that time!

    • @Sense008
      @Sense008 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's still there as far as I know.... She wants to be vegan, but finds it too hard, especially on tour, so on tour she goes for a pescetarian diet. When not on tour she does eat vegan. But she also said she isn't vegan because on the non-food side of things she isn't really, but she tries to better about that. That's what she said in an interview anyway.

    Yeah I don't think Jinjer has bad songs either. There's some songs I don't like, but I wouldn't say they're bad from a musical standpoint.
    As for the lyrics, they're a bit off to me sometimes. She's mixed both Darwinian evolution and creationism (unless she meant metaphorically), and that line you talked about (saving your life by taking others) is the very essence of self-defence.
    Personally, I believe in the contingency argument where there needs to be a necessary existence that's independent so that we can exist. This is because, with our current knowledge, everything within this universe is dependent on something else for its existence. So there needs to be an independent existence at the start otherwise you have the problem of infinite regression whereby dependency going back to infinity means that we would never exist in the first place. A good example would be: if a sniper has to wait for a command to fire from someone else and that someone also has to receive a command and that someone...going back to infinity, the sniper will never be fired since there's no one to start the sequence. I also call the necessary existence God.
    Oh yeah, and could you please react to the Captain Clock lyric video by Jinjer? The live version is shit, but I think people will still recommend it anyway.

      Idk but i think the point of the song is that humans hurt each other and other species for fun and to feel better about themselves, they act like wild animals but yet have the nerves to call themselves "intelligence". Just look at politics these days to get what i mean, people are literally ready to kill each other cause they're different than each other or disagree on some things, let alone the way they act towards other living beings.

      There is no reason to be putting down other bands dude, especially describing them as lazy, not creative, or phoning it in. There are very few bands who aren't passionate about their craft and who aren't putting everything they have into it. I'd prefer not to see that negativity in my comments again. There is no place for it in the world of art.
