yeah, especially since the M-10 is probably the most heavily armored open top TD that exists. seriously it eats up anything short of a long barreled panzer 4 if you don't aim carefully, so i switch to HEAT or HE if i see one

@@07legod no lie there man, non stabilized heavy tanks that get clubbed by early atgms and heatfs rounds, right next to go-karts that have zero armor and a gun that launches the vehicle it’s mounted to further than the actual projectile.
for playing the 3.7 with 2 shermans and the chaffe lineup quite extensively, the most effective way to kill a KV-1 is to shoot its gun. You sometimes can mistake a KV-1 L11 with a KV-1 ZiS 5, that have 90mm of thickness instead of the 75mm on the L11. When 75mm flat is very much do able for the M3 gun, 90mm is usually a no go as even the slightest angle will get you out of the penetration range. I usually kill the gun (or just under it, the breech that is quite exposed on those things) and then rush it to shoot the driver port at point blank range. If the KV 1 is further away, well then the best you can do is generally hide your hull and your turret cheeks if you play the M4A1 and shoot the guns and tracks to allow your team mates with more powerful anti tank guns like the M10 or the Achilles to shoot him down. If you have the M4, you're generally immune to KV 1s at range anyway
42:25 Gaijin just recently confirmed the M10 is the slowest traverse of any ground vehicle. In one of their videos a comment asked for the slowest raverse and they said the M2 Medium and I think an early variant of the Pz IV. They said "[If we widen the scope the M10 is the slowest]"
Note that these tanks can change with updates, not visually, but in how they work. If I remember correctly, any tank made from America that had APBC (Or to me, APHEi (Armor Piercing High Explosive improved) had immediate access to their APBC round, which changed in the update "Wind of Change" to where all American made vehicles now have APC as their stock round, resulting in a painfully long grind to get a better shell. Some tanks may even get new shells to complement the old shells, for example the M5A1 Stuart now has a SAPHEI shell, which I believe replaced the HE shell, if it had one.
Honestly, the M10 really is just dependable, despite it's drawbacks. I ended up actually using it up to until I got the M36, as I really didn't like the M18 and opted to go back to the M10 for my TD slot. Same can be said for the Achilles in the British line up, there's just something about the vehicle that make it so dependable no matter the BR
My personal theory is it keeps you in check. The turret traverse reminds you not to push too hard and this lets you get good defensive or at least not rushing gameplay. Also, 76mm go brrr lol
Unless they changed it in the past few days or something, it's worth noting that the M5A1 is 2.3 now. I have no clue why, it was really good at 2.7 but it is what it is. Also Gaijin literally forgot to change the BRs of the identical prem and TD stuarts so they're still 2.7.
I always stood by the Sherman tanks even back when the T34s were bouncing everything back around the start of ground forces. I love every single one, even the M4A3 76 at 5.7 with it's upgraded engine and APCR. Often I find myself going on long kill streaks on all of them.
Even after having pretty everything unlocked for every nation, I'm still looking forward to these videos, they're just really well crafted and the narration is simply outstanding!
I came back to rewatch this video and have to say this: The M4A3(105) is one of the most fun tanks in the game, hands down. I’m at 8.0 in the US ground tree, and I sometimes go back to 2.7 to play it. If you play cautiously, you can literally double ace or stay alive the whole game. It’s one of my most used vehicles, and I encourage every new and old player to use it. Definitely worth the money of a Talisman.
@@aleksanderf4672 it may not be an option if you are moving up a hill and decide to turn (for example if it's too steep). You can't turn with any reasonable speed, you can't move forward and you have to back down really slowly
I absolutely cruised through the M15 aa research tree, I had spaded the YAG-29 before so I understood how to fight tanks with very low armor and also fighting your own deadzones
meanwhile im getting back into WT and stuck at rank 2 usa and im putting 5-6 shots into tanks and nothing happening but being 1 hit by everything i dont get it. i feel like im fighting 3.7-4.0 tanks at 1.7-2.3 and its getting annoying
This is it, my absolute favorite selection of vehicles in the game. Stuarts and Shermans, supplemented by some unique vehicles like the Chaffee and Wolverine. They're some of the most fun, most consistent, and most versatile tanks to play in the entire game, and yet they still feel balanced and not at all overpowered. Other nations teach you to rely on their tanks' strengths around this tier. The German guns, the Russian armor, and the British mobility. The American lineups are the perfect middle ground and teach you to go into every situation prepared for anything, and how to counter it. Now if I can just get one of my favorite tanks in history, the 75mm M4A3, I'd be even happier.
I know i'm late to the comments party, but You Do You man, when a content creator is comfortable with their work it shows, the quality of your videos is amazing and for those of us that care for this, time is not an issue.
Having dropped down from 8.7br to 2.7br, I'm finding my M4A3 (105) to be way too powerful. Surely it could stand going up to 3.0br. Unless that's just because I have an almost maxed-out crew that compensates a tiny bit for its dire turret rotation. And I can imagine it's the kind of tank that less experienced players might die fast in. For me, it plays (against its peers) like an even more survivable Jumbo. I like your pointing about keeping the gun roughly forward. The M3 Lee is such a charming tank - I love it. It looks like a rusty old diving machine.

One thing that I think you should mention about the American vehicles (and I forget if you mentioned it in part 1 or not) is pretty much most of their access to the .50 caliber machine gun, being one of the best machine guns in game! It has saved my life more than a few times, and I feel like it's worth mentioning. Thank you so much for your video and I look forward to the next one!
back before the pen changes the chaffee TL apcr was useful with taking out kv1's as they would not take the chaffee seriously and sit in front of you unangled letting you put an easy apcr shot through the mailslot
9:14 - The Triple S; Sneaky Shooty Spot. Usually identified by the fact you grin wide when you get there and get a couple kills without people noticing you.
I have to spade each vehicle before I can go on to the next line up. The M16 made me quit the U.S. for a little while. Figured out you can hide out in a concealed area with a good view of the sky and wait for air planes. Now that it's spaded I never want to play it again.

I dont think the stabilizers are as good as people make them seem. Its only really good if you fully stop. If you roll, shoot and then stop every other tank gets as much accuracy when poking out
Will we get a decal in game for 2and900? Would be nice to see something in game in memory. Also love the series, but it gets uploaded a bit too slow (imo) I hope to see the next tiers a bit faster :)

the ram is bascily a parrel univse sherman. Canada looks at the lee and went, no give us the plans we'll add a turret like a sane person. It only didn't see use becuase when it was ready so was the sherman
one thing about the M10's gun. it is the M7 3 inch gun as opposed to the 76 AT guns from late war. The reason for this is its actually an artillery's cannon pressed into AT roll, hence it is heavy and required quite the counterweight. while 3" = 76mm, the later 76 guns were tanks guns first and formost, hence why this is the M7 3" and sherman's got the lighter M1 76mm.
I've found with the M8 that you should lead with the 50 cal rather than the main gun unless you know it can't go through. If you slew round a corner and fire the .50 you can take out gunner and driver before finishing the enemy off with the 75mm if needed.
a free player like me basically can’t do anything in games because the crew is so low level that if you and an enemy in front of you is crippled for like, let’s say the turret and driver, then if your enemy paid in the game, their crew will change in only 1/3rd of the time it takes for your crew to change.
the 105mm Sherman is currently the only 2.7 BR Sherman. And i strongly believe this is bullshit. It will literally 1-shot anything itll come against on its BR from the front at the moment, while only some TDs can reliably pen it from the front at distance. Im currently grinding the brits and finding one against you is an instant "back to garage" for me, as 2pdr cant reliably hit it even from its side.
I’ve played the M5 as my mainstay for years . I didn’t notice for a long time they moved it up from 2.3 that kinda pissed me off once i realized this. The HE she’ll actually came in use for me as there seems to be more open spgs now than when I first started playing. Example sneak up behind one those Japanese naval guns shoot the engine then lob a He shell into cab. Yes you could use your machine guns but that also will give your position away.
Oxy I dont know if you will see this but I just watched your latest Twitch stream where you address the mostly unwarranted hatred in this community towards devs. Thank you for talking about it, standing up for the game the way you did. I see so many creators/players talk about the game as if they have all the answers, constantly complaining about "game breaking" bugs that are probably just because they made a bad judgement ingame. Ive only been playing for just over a year, I absolutely love it, I get the feeling the majority of this hate comes from creators/players that have been playing for years and years, feeling that their opinions are superior because of this. Stinks of entitlement. Hate to see this anger pointed at devs that pump out more content/fixes than a handful of bigger games combined. I could rant for hours about this, thanks anyway for addressing it. Keep up the killer content.

Shooting the top of an m10 with some 50mm HE was one of the highlights of my life
My M10 will die due to artillery tickling my tracks from 5 meters away, but open top Soviet trucks seem to do just fine in the same situation.

Personally I'd add to the Sherman's cons the poor hull traverse. But maybe that just grinds my gears...

I disagree on the M8 survivability. the armor of an m5 hull is quite good at 1.3 and will bounce many shota.

They only moved the chaffee down so it cant be used for events anymore

the ram is bascily a parrel univse sherman. Canada looks at the lee and went, no give us the plans we'll add a turret like a sane person. It only didn't see use becuase when it was ready so was the sherman
one thing about the M10's gun. it is the M7 3 inch gun as opposed to the 76 AT guns from late war. The reason for this is its actually an artillery's cannon pressed into AT roll, hence it is heavy and required quite the counterweight. while 3" = 76mm, the later 76 guns were tanks guns first and formost, hence why this is the M7 3" and sherman's got the lighter M1 76mm.

My only regret I have about the Chaffee is that I didn’t get the War Thunder league variant so I could have two Chaffees in my line up.
I've found with the M8 that you should lead with the 50 cal rather than the main gun unless you know it can't go through. If you slew round a corner and fire the .50 you can take out gunner and driver before finishing the enemy off with the 75mm if needed.

a free player like me basically can’t do anything in games because the crew is so low level that if you and an enemy in front of you is crippled for like, let’s say the turret and driver, then if your enemy paid in the game, their crew will change in only 1/3rd of the time it takes for your crew to change.

the 105mm Sherman is currently the only 2.7 BR Sherman. And i strongly believe this is bullshit. It will literally 1-shot anything itll come against on its BR from the front at the moment, while only some TDs can reliably pen it from the front at distance. Im currently grinding the brits and finding one against you is an instant "back to garage" for me, as 2pdr cant reliably hit it even from its side.

I’ve played the M5 as my mainstay for years . I didn’t notice for a long time they moved it up from 2.3 that kinda pissed me off once i realized this. The HE she’ll actually came in use for me as there seems to be more open spgs now than when I first started playing. Example sneak up behind one those Japanese naval guns shoot the engine then lob a He shell into cab. Yes you could use your machine guns but that also will give your position away.
The way you slapped those planes out of the sky with the zis LVT, so casually, almost carefree... that was just downright dirty
Oxy I dont know if you will see this but I just watched your latest Twitch stream where you address the mostly unwarranted hatred in this community towards devs. Thank you for talking about it, standing up for the game the way you did. I see so many creators/players talk about the game as if they have all the answers, constantly complaining about "game breaking" bugs that are probably just because they made a bad judgement ingame. Ive only been playing for just over a year, I absolutely love it, I get the feeling the majority of this hate comes from creators/players that have been playing for years and years, feeling that their opinions are superior because of this. Stinks of entitlement. Hate to see this anger pointed at devs that pump out more content/fixes than a handful of bigger games combined. I could rant for hours about this, thanks anyway for addressing it. Keep up the killer content.
It's weird how the M24 is rank 2 in US tree but rank 3 in Japanese
The M5A1 might just be my favourite tank in the entire game, so much fun and with an extremely high skill ceiling.
