In my experience I find the water in South-East Melbourne quite good for coffee. As long as you’re not in a house where the old pipes are still being used. I’ve been using merely a Brita filter jug and everything is good. Third Wave Water is a good product, especially for those who are into the standing-out flavour profiles of single-origin beans. Just the price tho. I buy blends at $50/kg or below so I am really on a budget for coffee.
I'm in the Northern suburbs and the water here tastes awful. The third wave water adds an additional 33% cost per batch of coffee, so it's not an ideal solution if you're on a budget 😁
Thank you for all the tips man. I have a weird question. I've bought today a Gaggia Classic Pro, was really excited about it but the coffee seems really watery and poor. Don't have a grinder and Im not sure if Im up to buy a high quality one so Im using grounded coffee. I've tried this same coffee in a local cafe and it was the most delicious coffee I've ever tasted ( which inspired me to buy the GCP and start making my own ). I've bought this same coffee but already grinded however it's not that puffy/thickish and much more watery than I want it to be. I've been following few of your tips like - steaming for 20 seconds before making the coffee but the watery part is killing it all. Do you have any suggestions ? It's my first coffee machine so Im still a newb at this.
Might have something to do with the fact it's preground. Try using the preground coffee in combination with the presurised baskets and see if you get better results.
Bought the one for espresso and didn't notice much difference. Don't think the extra cost my coffee is worth it. Btw, nice videos as usual. I use filtered water.
Excellent video Goran.
Thank you Jason 🙏

Thank you Hassan. Maybe your water is already good enough, so you can't taste the difference 😊
Third Wave Water, from what I've heard, adds the lost minerals back into the distilled the distilled water...
It does, but it follows a recipe that mimics the water they use at the SCA competitions.
