I had this feeling when I sent my Durge into the Murder Tribunal and the Temple of Bhaal alone on Tactician to burn it all to the ground. I spent a long time readying buffs, and then sent her in to "John Wick" both locations in a single long rest. Seldom have I felt more badass and amped by a game.
Larian got the difficulty of goblins quite right in this game. They can be a freaking deadly encounter at low levels. But as soon as a party hits level 4 each party member can slaughter them by the dozen.
That, and by this point crew might still know nothing about artifact influence. Ast rightfully fears to potentially waste precoius time on killing gobbos instead of looking for cure. Regular tadpole infection goes really fast after all

She can fight devils… people like Raphael solo, allegedly… at like level 1-3? Really?! Laezel has thousands of hours of training, and combat experience… but struggles against a couple tomb raiders? Shadowheart makes more sense for low level, she might have had some training, but nothing like Karlach or Laezel, or Wyll lets say, man has fought goblins before, and gotten in many fights. XD Astarion makes sense for low level, kept as a slave, not really a good chance to train, especially if starved often. Halsin, a man who has lived 100’s of years, I dunno. I know game balance is important, but it is silly when backstories dont match.

Well fighters are VERY strong early on. Even from like level 2. Action surge is crazy and at level 3 when they get their superiority dice its a massive power spike. Then they also get the level 4 power spike, then 5 then they get another feat at 6. So yeah early on they are just one man armies
