I love the ocean! This film was like the waves and the cycles of a young man's life. The actor playing Arlo is amazing and made me cry when he did. Beautiful film in all ways
Enjoyed your film! What made it for me--aside from the seaside cinematography that others have commented on--was the choice to eschew dialogue in favor of narration, and your narrator had the perfect voice for story-telling! My favorite line: "On day 364 Finn called it off." It'll go like that sometimes. So, we have a story of privation (we don't know yet what we're missing) followed by deprivation (we now know what we're missing), but eventually follows the realization that the cycle can change again--an implied happy ending. That lingering shot of Arlo standing out among the rolling waves...will he disappear (he does for a couple seconds), but eventually emerges (renewed?) by the sea, the source of life. Hope I'm not being too cerebral--my reaction to the film was emotional.
I have no words. Thank you! I found myself in this film. I just turned 25 years old and I pray I finally find happiness in 2025. Throughout the years I have been so lonely. It is exasperating. This was the most horrible year of my life. Sometimes I keep wondering why am I still living? But somehow I am also afraid of giving up. I am looking to connect with someone but it's very hard because I am too introverted. But I keep praying I will find a friend in 2025. Someone that can tolerate me emotionally. Because without that, I cannot keep going.
Thank you so much for watching! I hope you are okay. Please hang in there, so many great things will happen soon, I promise. What country are you from so I can find you a helpline if you ever need it?
Beautiful saturated colours of the sea, good looking boys and very powerful how the narrator "translates" Arlo's strong inner feelings of love, rejection, pain, loneliness and hope for new love.
As an Australian I love seeing locally-made short films like this. I'd really like to see more of Arlo and his quest to find love, maybe he'll end up back with Fin one day? I'm a bit of a softie and love a happily ever after ending I guess 🤣The vision quality is incredible considering it was shot on an iPhone! I have the same phone and all I use mine for is to take the occasional selfie and photos of my chocolate Labrador🤣Everything about this movie was top-notch. Congratulations to everyone involved and I can't wait to see more from the talented team at OMAD Productions. Keep up the great work and keep flying the flag for local Australian short movies 😀 Craig - Geelong, Vic.
I can't say enough good about this massive little film. I'm a 67yr. old gay man and when young was very much like these characters and fell in love very much like they did. Twice when still boy/men and then once when fully into adulthood another man and I grew the kind of love story told here. And they left me, and just like portrayed here - the reason didn't matter. Just like portrayed here, the person I was while with him died... or rather he had murdered it/me. It took a very long time and no, you do not heal. You do move on. Eventually. Finally, I fell in love all over again and this time neither of us ever wanted to murder the person we were together, or hurt each other in anyway, or feel like somehow we were trapped.... instead we didn't want to ever be parted. This time though - we were torn apart by death. We managed to keep his body going until it couldn't - he died of kidney failure due to diabetes, which both of us have...I still have. It was easier to lose the love of my life to death than it was to betrayal. However, it still took me 5yrs. to be open to love again. My "ocean" was singing. I thought I'd share this so some young person might read it and find an answer to which kind of death/grieving is easier to survive. Losing him to death of the body is easier to losing him to death of his love.
@@OMADPRODUCTIONSArlo immediately reminds me of someone I know. Someone who is an artist. Someone who loves the sea. Someone who broke up with his lover. Someone who will connect with this story.
Just a breath of fresh air in the category of shorts. The director knows about creativity and color, actors are so attractive and real... You feel for him because of the sea and time ... Thank you❤
This is a wonderful little short film. I’m glad Arlo is going to be okay and that he will find love again. The cinematography is beautiful. Thanks for sharing! ✌🏻👍🏻✌🏻
I've often wondered what it would be like to walk into the sea wearing a sport coat! Curious about the scenes with green hues and with blue hues. Thank you for an engaging short film.
Beautiful cinematography, great sound effects, and powerful acting by Ruben Russo. Together, they create a wonderful immersive experience for the audience. Well done. I have to say, though, that, from my perspective, the voiceover feels somewhat intrusive since the poetic visuals of the film do allow the story to speak for itself. Kudos to you all!!!
Not knowing why Finn left is reflective of the question: why do relationships dissolve; were they meant to be together; was it just physical not emotional attraction? And the list of reasons unlimited.
The clip is to be a visual, not listening to a failed love as a bedtime story. That you have failed to fulfil the object of engaging in the human dialogue, thus the relationship failed.
Reminds me of The OLD MAN AND THE SEA, by Ernest Hemmingway, but in a special peculiar Connection: The YOUNG BOY And The SEA: BY The SEA I SEE there will be NO SUICIDE for ME!

Thank you so much!! We have been overwhelmed by the response. Really appreciate you taking the time to watch our short.
Beautiful! Also that stunt being done in the waves must have been very difficult to pull off so flawlessly!
So happy you enjoyed it!

This film was an amazing, emotional journey filled with love, beautiful music, narration, pain and hope. Very moving.

A beautiful and creative representation of what many gay people experience in life; loneliness!

I just realized this short film was posted less than a day ago... I love the cinematography, you played so nicely with the color palette.
Thank you!
Very beautiful cinematography. Colors were perfect. I think the ocean parallel with grief was perfect. I am glad it ended with a positive note.
Amazing! My first time doing the cinematography. We shot it on an iPhone. Thanks for watching.

And his landlord cannot understand why the flooring is rotting out under the bathtub...
Yes, I flooded my bathroom filming. Ha ha. It was so worth it. Thanks for watching.
This was so moving, the ebb and tide of life and love..
So happy it connected with you. Thank you for watching.
Why did Finn call it off? - I need answers and closure. (Or is that irrelevant to the film?)
All I can conclude is that Finn is an idiot ....Arlo❤
Not knowing why Finn left is reflective of the question: why do relationships dissolve; were they meant to be together; was it just physical not emotional attraction? And the list of reasons unlimited.
I wonder what caused Finn to call it quits?
❤❤❤ such a beautiful film!
