@@uselessguy1 getting to a higher speed quicker will give you a higher average speed even if the final speed is slower (to an extent). There’s a bunch of math behind it
@@storms13 it's not really a lot of math, and it's not that complicated. If you get to top speed on grass in say, 1000 units of distance, and on ice in 2500 but with 2 more speed, then you just take the distance ice is lagging behind and see how long it takes to catch up (1500/2=750). So unless you really care about the brief period between 799 and 801 speed on ice, the maths is fairly simple
Considering you instabtky go super fast the moment you start on plastic should be a given. I just did not know grass limit their speed different than dirt.

i knew plastic was faster then road by alot but i didnt know it only was +3 mph from 860-999. also grass tops out at 799 and ice tops out at 801 weirdchamp
Well, it wouldn't be a circle for a start. The best turning radius for a perfect speed drift depends on your speed and what surface you're driving on. It would be astonishingly difficult to make it a "fair" race.
As far is i know you can slide and hit the back of the Car at a wall slightly. Than the car will get a extrem speed boost, i played a lol map a while ago where you had to do it and with that you could propably get over 801 :)
In game top speed should be capped at 999 regardless, at least while on a surface, neither boosters nor perfect speed or ice slides can go over it In air tho? No idea, since speed is also measured in a funky way where if you're flying sideways you're at 0 speed on the speedometer but you're probably flying at 900 in the direction you're headed
I only realized right now, that the lights on the bottom are the gears. I have about 10 hours into the game so far. I was wayyyy too preoccupied with looking at the road to notice this. ;P
I can calculate (first at all trackmania uses km/h). Grass = 37 sec for 799 km/h Ice = 63 sec for 801 km/h Using Uniform accelerated motion formula Grass travel distance at 37 sec is 4.1 km Ice travel distance at 63 sec is 7.0 km Now we convert km/h to km/s dividing by 3600 to know information in seconds Grass = 799/3600 = 0.221944 km/s Ice = 801/3600 = 0.222500 km/s Now we can use this formula because they not gonna acelerate anymore (d + (v*t)). 7.0 + (0.221944*x) = 4.1 + (0.222500*x) x = 5215 sec is about 01 hour and 26 minutes (FUCKING MUCH TIME)
while the low friction means you lose less energy, it also means you can't input as much energy from the engine. So it shouldn't have a higher top speed than the rest.
Top 1: Plastic (MAX speed and 01:47.499) Top 2: Road (MAX speed and 01:48.462) Top 3: Dirt (899 speed and 01:54.070) Top 4: Grass (801 speed and 02:01.831) Top 5: Ice (799 speed and 02:12.368) This didn't take a long time to make, as it is only 5 materials.

Someone wanna calculate how much longer this run would need to be for ice to catch back up to grass doing 801 vs. 799?
I can calculate (first at all trackmania uses km/h).
Grass = 37 sec for 799 km/h
Ice = 63 sec for 801 km/h
Using Uniform accelerated motion formula
Grass travel distance at 37 sec is 4.1 km
Ice travel distance at 63 sec is 7.0 km
Now we convert km/h to km/s dividing by 3600 to know information in seconds
Grass = 799/3600 = 0.221944 km/s
Ice = 801/3600 = 0.222500 km/s
Now we can use this formula because they not gonna acelerate anymore (d + (v*t)).
7.0 + (0.221944*x) = 4.1 + (0.222500*x)
x = 5215 sec
is about 01 hour and 26 minutes (FUCKING MUCH TIME)

while the low friction means you lose less energy, it also means you can't input as much energy from the engine. So it shouldn't have a higher top speed than the rest.
