- Here's a quick run down on how I trained my dogs to smile.
I'm in no way saying this is the only way to train this! it's just how I did.

We're working with our new pup and Brandon's advise was just what I needed. Wish he'd just come and train for me haha but it's good for us and happy to have this new set of tools to use on our pup.
This dog seems slightly smarter than mine considering my dog thinks she can catch a shadow.

I have the opposite problem! Mine is named Rocky after Rocky Balboa since he is the ultimate underdog just like his namesake. Rocky does not seem to be afraid of anything! 😮 if he gets a little shocked first then he just stands still and observe. Then after 10sec he will puff up his chest and go straight for it! He is such a cocky guy already. And he is only 13 weeks

i just lifted up my dogs lip and said "smile" after about a week he figured it out.

I taught my Scotty how to full on smile. I just say "Cheeeeese!" and she starts cheesing a big ol' smile. It's hilarious.

How did you make him wait? Mine touches and pulls back
How did you get him to keep his nose there? Ive tried with my dog and she just quickly taps my finger and waits for her treat
I held out on treats until he started offering the behavior I wanted. So I wouldnt reward until he held it for a few seconds longer. They usually will out of frustration

My dog tries to bites me instead when I trail him like this. Any suggestion?
I tried doing this with my 7 month old puppy and she knows how to shake so every time I had a treat and was trying to get her to do something she would reach her paw out is there a way I can get her to stop doing that while teaching her something else?
Just say no and pull away for as many times as it takes for her to understand that she should only do it on command :)

Sometimes! Puppies have endless energy. I suggest getting them kind of tired first by playing a bunch and use high value rewards to get them interested
my dog growls every time i try to get him to sniff my hand, how do i gte him to stop?

When you point a camera at a dog they'll smile.
Any tips on how to get from the touch section onto the wait section,? My dog is confident with “touch” meaning to put his nose on my finger, but takes it away instantly and is just getting confused when I try to add the “wait” 😂 (he does know the wait command I just think he’s not understanding it for this trick)
If the wait command is confusing don’t use it! Just withhold treats until he offers the behavior for longer. Even if it’s just 2 seconds longer. Keep building it up and only reward for a longer amount of time!

Tried teaching my dog, so far she thinks that touch means she has to put my finger in her mouth😂😅

Either take a step back and work on mainly a stay/wait command to encourage it. Or keep with it and only reward for him holding his mouth to your hand for longer than a few seconds!
Tryed this didn't work, my dog goes for the treat alone and ignores the context of what I'm asking
Doesn't work for my border collie. He pulls his head away to look down, turns his head another direction to get around your hand once he finishes the "touch" I've tired the whisker tickle too....he just looks really sad and hides his face if you touch his whiskers too much 😂 gotta find another method for my dog to "smile".
Probably the most difficult command for me to teach him and he learned to "die" when you "Thanos Snap" him in only an hr (with breaks inbetween) lol
Some dogs just don’t vibe with certain tricks! My Doberman mix absolutely HATES the smile trick and learning it. He doesn’t like having his face touched like that so I didn’t push it and decided to teach him something else. Sometimes some tricks just aren’t meant for every dog :)
