Welcome back to another video. Today we are on Lake Sakakawea in North Dakota and we are trying to find some walleyes on this massive body of water. In this video I am using a brand new bait, the Kale's Tungsten Search Bait. This bait is extremely versatile...it can be casted trolled or jigged. In this video I show how I like to fish it. Thanks for watching.

Glad to see you are putting this in the Walleye Now. Enjoy the content in that app. Really learning some new techniques.
Always great content! Thanks Tom!
Tom your fourth fish was tagged in the lip😂😂
Always been really good with slow death hooks on bottom bouncers but I’m super excited to try this
As always Tom thank you ☺️
Thank you , thank you , thank you for introducing me to the Kalin's plastic products. The Kalin's was instrumental in hooking up a 26 inch walleye this spring and through the summer. I found a couple of different ways to use the Kalin's other than casting on a jig. Love your videos.
Your editing is phenomenal
I live in ND but I'm traveling with my family in Rome as I watch this...just bought a handful via your link...can't wait to get back and try them out next week!
Bought some of these last year. Didn’t catch any walleye, but caught some of the biggest perch I’ve ever seen.
Love watching your vids to gain knowledge and hopefully catch some fish!
Good to see you in Fargo!!
Nice bait Tom,wish it were in my TB USA WALLEYE BOX!
Nice box of great walleye goodies in there!
Wow...good video tom!
All I can say is wow 🤩 good stuff
I watch all these videos yet I never go walleye fishing 😂 what's wrong with me lol. Nice work man I feel like you could go fishing in a storm drain and come back with a walleye or two !!!!
that was really impressive
Thanks Tom for another great video. Much appreciated 🎣
Thanks for watching!
Heading to Mille Lac's tommorow. We'll give this a try 🎣
Been using this lure for years and it's deadly. The erie dearie being the original and lately the WNC death jig. Love casting to pods of fish with live imaging. The addition of tungsten from Kalins will be great!
Yeah I love compact baits. Tungsten will be great addition
@@TomBoley where's the link

Was fishing with weight forward spinners like this 35 years ago. Erie Dearie was one but I mostly used one made by Mepps.
Thanks Tom I got some ordered from tackle shop called Sheelys
always a great day when you show up at noon and its bumpy tie on a bait and catch 10 or so walleyes in a hour. i don't know about search bait might be "the bait" after watching that 😃
Funny cam angle when deploying minnkota, looked like you were on an aircraft carrier, LOL
I just signed up for Walleye Now! I've followed you for several years and I can't tell you how you have changed the way I fish. You are legit. Thank!
It's a junk app once you pay.
This guy runs a business, your best interest isn't his profit margin
12:23... fish has got a tag
That bait seems to be very similar to the WNC Death Jig Rig, good video as always Tom!
Definitely an interesting category of lures.
Heading to Scheels tonight to buy a few of those for my fishing trip next weekend.
Plenty of Erie Dearie copy cats. My favorite being the Swim Jig by EZ Action Products. Anyone remember it? My dad’s company back in the 80s. Great content and editing TB!! More please 🤘🤘🤘
Nice video!
Saw the video yesterday, went to store bought a few, landed a 19 inch eye within 30 minutes, on lake Darling no less
You make it look so easy, enjoy your videos. Could you comment on how to find your fishing spot? Trying to learn how to best use my Hummingbird.
Didn't even have to read the description...I recognized my Sakakawea walleyes right away :)
I've been wanting a way to "cast spinners" for years instead of trolling them, so I'm going to have to try this for sure.
Seems like a Northland whistler jig. They are pretty successful, these should work well too.
It's an interesting category of baits. The next video I filmed kinda shows another unique way to fish it.
That’s what I was thinking. Use them ice fishing.
New bait? Looks like an extremely old bait we threw on lake Erie when I was a kid. Erie dearie
The good ol' Erie Dearie. Those old chunks of lead have boated a lot of walleyes
New to this season lol
Yes, I have had some that look like that, just change the regular hook to the slow death hook but I like the idea of Tungsten. gonna have to try it. I fish on Lake Erie.
It’s essentially a copy of walleye nation creations Death Jig
@@kingbeans9707 their all knock offs of an Erie dearie
Hi Tom, What brand, size, and color artificial worm are you using with the Kalin Tungsten Search Bait? Also, what colors in the Search Bait have you found most productive? THANKS, keep up the excellent work!
There ya go guys! He just showed us all how to basically cast a pole and put it in a rod holder. His live scope didn't catch all the fish, his nice boat didn't make them jump in it, its a new lake with big water, that should make everyone happy! Hopefully everyone can give this a try regardless of their set up. Ill have one on one of my poles. Thanks Tom!
You forgot the $10.00 lures he expects folks to buy
@user-lv6ec2zw7u unless you just want to use nothing but jigs and drop-shoting what bait doesn't cost $10. Just a heads up, if you don't have $10, then fishing isn't a good sport to get into.
@brandonabel4966 how did we ever catch anything 40yrs before this internet hero you worship?
We caught many fish, fed many people.
Not one $10.00 hook was used.
How the fck did that happen hero?
@@user-lv6ec2zw7u Not sure if you know what inflation is? That's how that happened hero! I'm simply talking about what baits cost now days including this one. It doesn't have anything to do with Tom. There is constantly guys complaining about his boat, his technology, etc. I simply said he casted a bait out and set it in a rod holder. I'm sure 40 years ago this bait would have been $1.99, but we aren't fishing in the 1980's any more. My grandpa isn't using the same tackle today that he was when he was in his 20's and even if he did he wouldn't be paying the same price for it. Use a jig head and a worm I don't care. But be careful, I would dig your own worms cause if you buy them you may spend $3.50 a dz. Ha
I look forward to your excursion to the big C in WA, OR...😮
Looks alot like the WNC death jig. Curious if Kalins will come out with some heavier ones for deeper water. Great video as always bud.
Wnc sucks! Lmao
Interesting technique. Great video and informative. What is the rod, reel and line setup you were using?
Love to catch them on Spinning Tackle rather than Levelwinds with bottom bouncers !
If you really want to see that lure Pop, add Hyper Vis to it. You will be amazed at much more efficient that lure will become. Tight lines.
Tom. Love your vids. Time to put ur big boy pants on and come to Sakakawea :)
Great video thanks! What plastic leach were you using?
Nice
new sponsor!!! yamaha and warrior
Bought some before you caught the third fish!!
Hi Tom
Which few colors would you recommend in clear deep water?
Thanks bc
“Rodney” catches a lot of fish😃
If you were in Grand Forks you should’ve came up to Manitoba and went after some greenbacks
Got some the other day.
What lake were you on? Love your videos by far the best TH-camr out there!! ❤
Hey Tom was wondering what transducer you run with humming bird units
Are those and acme tge same? They look adentical but the acme ones online have more color options
It's just like the Erie derie but a different blade for a spinner the Erie has a round tear drop blade same thing and yes they catch lots of fish. Great job broski
The old Erie deerie...a bait as old as time haha.
Thanks for watching!
love the layout of the Warrior.....but no way could I do the sparkle a day in the boat isn't suppose to give you a headache........it's suppose to cure them!!
Bought 6 of them. Trolled all day, and caught a bluegill.
It looks like a tail spinner with a metal smile blade and a slow death hook.
My brother was using this bait. I out fished him with a jig head. 12 to 2
walleye weapon rig
I got to fish out of a Glass boat on Big water and High wind. It was way better than getting pounded in an Aluminum boat even if it is Wide! Great content on the New bait! The WNC Death Jigs are so similar?
Yeah the warrior makes my job much easier that is for sure.
It's an interesting category of lures. The fact this is tungsten gets me excited because it keeps it all more compact. I love compact finesse baits.
@@TomBoley Tungsten makes a Big difference in Size Or Profile for sure!
How do you keep it from tangling. 8 out of 10 casts the hook tangles around the head
How do keep it from tangling on itself when you cast it?
Do you use this bait in 20’ or 30’ft of water
What brand of plastic worm are you using in this video?
Looks like a Erie Derie
What’s brand of fake worms do you use? What size an color would you recommend on the jigs your using in the video?. Also it a great video by the way.
Fine I bought it.
What crawler bait were you using?
What type of fishing line and leader are you using with these? I fear losing them to toothy northern!
Hi Tom,
Do you tight straight braid or fluorocarbon leader with swivel to this new new?
10# braid to 10# flouro lead
I just ordered two of the 5’3” and one 7’2” 2b genesis. On one of the comments you stated that you use 10# braid to 10# fluorocarbon leader. I just watched the video “How to troll like a pro” and in that video you stated that you like to use monofilament on those rods. Just curious if you found that the braid/Fluoro combo was working better than just monofilament . I normally pull spinner crawler harnesses.
Is there a trick to casting these? Every time I cast the search bait the hook gets caught up on the line. I'm using the slow death hook. I haven't tried the straight hook yet. I hope that fixes the issue. I bought 10 of these primarily for casting. Please let me know if there is a trick to cast them and not get the hook fouled up on the line.
Hey bud what kind of boat is that? I like the space without a console in the way.
New lure? Just looks like an updated version of the erie dearie.
What speed were you moving at with those set ups?
🎣
One of those walleyes had a little jewelry on the lip
Went are you going to be in Eau Claire?
Welcome to ND! Hit me up if you ever want to hit up some great prairie pothole walleye lakes! Great fowling as well! I'm an old northern Wisco guy as well.
As a bass fisherman, i’ve never understood the allure of trolling. I get bored quick even if i’m catching fish, but I can happily spend 12 hours flipping into cover for a few bass. I guess it’s just a different expectation for your fishing outing?
👍😎
What are fake crawlers used in the video?
Van Hook is full of walleye
Your not kidding.
Do you tie directly to the eye of this bait or use a swivel??
Direct tie
Would this work in a river
"Scheels seminars I have* to do."
Replace that mindset with "get" (privlaged)
Not 1st.
What body of water are you uactually fishing on?
Sakakawea
EErie Dearie has been around decades
Why wasn’t this in the fish USA box?
That bait wasn't on your end cap at Scheels..
Sad when new jigs cost more than a crank baits !
About how fast are you trolling those baits ?
1.2 to 1.6
shouldnt the eye hole for the line be closer to the front of the jig head
that would make it ride too vertical.
The one walleye you caught tom had a lip tag! I dont think you even noticed
At 12:17 in the video
Where can I buy them new lures?
Linked in description....if sold out check online through retailers
Walleye nation creations death jig what's the difference here
It's seems to be a number of things. Kalins one is tungsten.... different blade design. Rattle in eyes.
Awesome Tom thank you!!! I always need another excuse to buy more tackle
Weight 1/4 or 3/8?
The Coupon Code for the TKI mount does not work.
I will contact them get it figured out for ya. Thanks
My mess up....WALLEYENOW23
Seen these at wally world. I know where I'm going after work lol.
Essentially a weighted June bug spinner
Weight forwards have been taking their share for decades.
Why don’t you ever keep walleyes to eat?
