I think people are getting pretty used to seeing people doing and wearing crazy things while filming in public.

After we watched this, my husband just silently turned his head and looked deep into my eyes. He didn’t have to say anything. I knew this was a 100% accurate depiction of me at Target. “I DID SO GOOD!”

I got a Liza Frank binder for school when I was in elementary school (it came with a bonus pocket folder inside) and I was the shizzle that first day of school! Lol! 🤣
I love when he goes from being emotional about the kids going back to school and then goes into "real mom mode" at the front door! I'm in tears! Lol 😂👍🏼

It's called "Target" for a reason. They "Target" you the second you step into their store. You stop by the dollar aisle & it's as if they're watching you & saying, "Well looky here, we hooked another one." 😂😂😂
I remember when they first introduced the "dollar aisle" and my mom was just like "I wish they had that when you guys were kids, it would have kept you quiet the whole time knowing you'd get something" I also remember the days where Target was NOT a popular place to shop for clothes, it did have clothes, but not good ones, it was more where you would go and get birthday presents , just random things, and if you were REALLY good, you might get a frozen coke or colored popcorn at the end...and there was always the saying your parent/guardian said every time you went to get a gift, "Remember, we're getting a toy for them, not for you" Target in the 80s and 90s was a whole different experience than it is now

I don't know why I am so shocked at the price each time, I always try to do the balance in my head while I shop...then I wait forever for the person in front of me in line and say to myself "omg, who spends $270 at Target???" then I pull up with my cart and I'm dangerously encroaching that amount as well

This is SO ACCURATE. You have an amazing talent for capturing the personality and essence of the typical, suburban soccer mom. It's like you live in our heads. And also follow us around at Target. And keep track of how many empty Starbucks cups are left in our mini vans.
My kids have been out of the house for a few years now and for the first two years, I was so happy I didn't have to do any of this but I have found this year I am very nostalgic and am missing all the pre-school excitement. I actually miss labeling everything, packing their backpack for 1st day of school, picking the clothes etc. It is weird how fast it goes and what you miss once it is over. It really is the little things. :)

I felt the same way! I went to the toddler section to buy some clothes and I spent some time there looking and looking for clothes that would fit him.... then it hit me that I was in the wrong section. I nearly cried right there in the store.
@@jeanettefullmer7525 I'm not a mom, but I still feel that time passing thing, especially when I remember that my cousin Valerie is only 10 yrs younger than me, with her graduate degree. Heck, I was 10 when she was still in diapers! Same thing for her sister Darci. She was not quite 2 when she, Val and their parents were at my high school graduation. Here I was with my hair done up in a French twist (thanks to my English teacher), gold hoop earrings and my red graduation gown, and she's bopping around like a little fairy. 😭
I bet he could do a really good impression of a homeschool mom. I love this one. It is so true unless you homeschool like I do then you would need a trailer to move your school supplies 😁
My favorite part of homeschooling is the school supplies. I get to make my own list! I do so good!!

I wish I was homeschooled. I found out about it in third grade and asked for it ever since. I was just lied to with things like "that is only for kids who live to far away from a school to go to", and "it is illegal to not go to school."
I promised my future kids I will never do that to them.

My husband thought I spent a lot and then he started to go to the store and realized the danger of going. Especially with kids and going while your hungry. Every time he comes back he says “Man everything is so expensive these days”. I reply with “Really?! I know it’s crazy!” Lol

I had a parent who would send their child with a teacher gift at the start of the school year (usually whiteboard markers in all the colours of the rainbow, and post-it notes). :)

Very relatable! I remember some of the things they put on the school supplies lists were so bizarre. One teacher wanted refills for the plug in air freshener thing...and when we expressed concern about the use of it in the classroom because our son had severe allergies, she looked at us like we had three heads.
Why are there lists? I don't ' remember any lists when I went to school in the 70s and 80s. Everyone just got one of those cardboard school supply boxes, pencil, glue, scissors, ruler, eraser.
The reason she looked at you like that is because the refills were for her house and she was thinking why do they think their son would be at my house .

Hey Taylor! love your channel even though my husband and I are not parents ourselves we love watching your videos. I can relate to your wife in the target aspect of things it just completely describes me whenever I’m at target and then my husband freaks out when I come home with a lot of bags.

Love it! We all start out in the beginning if the year with these super mama goals, like making these elaborate lunches with themes to them, and then you find yourself back the easy foods they actually eat! I’m always so ready for my son to go back to school, but then crying when he heads off another grade older when I keep picturing him as a baby crawling behind me around the house!
I laughed so hard at the comment about Lisa Franke school supplies! My daughter and I both cracked up! I always bought her that stuff and for me too! Shes now out of college with two degrees living her best life as a librarian. 😁✝️

🤣😍 School year starting always stirs something deep inside. Have been a teacher and parent of school-age darlings. Been out of teaching for several years and our youngest graduated in 2021!! Live in a small town in working class neighborhood, so before long, the neighbors will be back to the daily yelling, door slamming and quick acceleration out of the driveway announcing the 2022-23 school year. Now I want to buy folders!!
My youngest is supposedly in Grade 11 but he's not really a school kinda guy... I already feel like an old lady as all the parents park in front of our house and herd kids to the school around the corner. My kids walked out the back gate and were at school. Location is everything!

Just please make sure to buy all the things on the school supply list as they are written. If you have a question, ask your child's teacher about it on the first day, and then bring them by the following week. Yes, I do review and edit the school supply list every year, and yes, your child does need all the items on the list. Please don't send your child to school with nothing on the first day of school. Even if your child isn't doing a lot on the first day of school, it probably requires at least a pencil, paper, folder or binder, and coloured pencils.

I got Covid during my back to school shopping excursion last Friday. I'm a nurse and this is the first time (not joking) that I have gotten Covid and it was shopping for school supplies. Damn tax free weekend, I should have known. The upside, I got everything he needed!
