Backgammon is 3,000 years older then this game. And many others are too. I hardly consider it one of the oldest. But it looks like a short fun game.

The first backgammon boards were medieval, not ancient. Look up Alfonso's Libros de Los Juegos

Sir, I played the game with my friend and we're confused. I mean, if players have to get all the pieces out of home-rows first in order to start filling their home-row, -when both players do, then the outer line is full most of the time and movement is very restricted and the 2 entering points are occupied most of the time that you can't get in your home-row or leave the home-row of the opponent almost never, and if all pieces are out then there happens blockade. And another question is, let's say, I have 4 of my pieces well lined in home-row , what about the last piece outside, do I have to roll the exact point to get in? Do I go round and round again until I roll the exact point? And what if I managed to get my pieces out and come to home row but there is still opponent's piece(s) there, can I put mine in the row? Thank you.

Are you starting with the pegs on the Sacred Line as described in the video animation? Or the pegs on the outer path? Both these alternate openings are published, so you could try that starting position. Not only is it less frustrating, but quicker, too. I also discovered a variation that allows a player to enter either side of the Sacred Line. As noted in the video, no one's really certain how the game was originally played. I hope you can work out a version that works for you. Sorry about the confusion.

@@DavidMMcCord Thanks for your reply, sir. Yes, we played as described in your video. As you hint.. yes, I've checked on the Internet and I try to figure out which rules are more playable and make sense. I guess, I'll have to add a few rules my own and make it easy, otherwise my friend won't play with me again LOL Thank you!
