Love your favorite things knitwear sweater. You did a fabulous job. Your knitting looks so even. Can’t tell your a beginning knitter. Your knitting looks very good.
Kinda funny to see you mentioning yarn bee must be merino. I’ve never seen anyone mention it on TH-cam but I just finished a hat in the Aran weight one and am currently working on a pair of socks in the dk weight while watching this
You should try the calville shawl by Merryweather Knitting! It calls for a dk weight but since it's a shawl you could definitely use sport and just have it either be a slightly looser gauge or a slightly smaller size 🧶
sooo in love with the sweater you're wearing and the festival sweater! the yarn combo for both are amazing 😻 seeing all of your WIPs is making me want to pull out my beanie and sock WIPs to finish them haha but I have soooo many sweaters on my list to knit 😅
Great seeing you again, your sweaters are beautiful!!! Love the colors that green is going to be so good!! Love a good hat pattern 😜 till next time... Happy belated birthday 🎂
For men’s socks (or any sock) you can knit a longer heel flap and that will give you more picked up gusset stitches to give more room in the heel/ankle. For your Festival Sweater, I would knit the sleeves first. If the sweater is a little shorter than your ideal length, you can wear it over a dress and it will still look beautiful.
THANK YOU for this tip…I will totally give it a try on the next pair! I have seen other people do that for sweaters but I never wear dresses 🙈 I just recalculated the yarn I have left last night and I think I will have enough after all! 🎉
Yep, I was going to say knit a longer heel flap. I have a high instep, so I have started doing 36 rows for my socks (I knit on 2.0 needles) and then picking up more on the sides. It should help with that area stretching!
All of your projects look great. The sweater you're wearing is beautiful! 💜 You have given me the idea to try making my next Sophia scarf using DPNs. The cable drove me crazy on my first scarf.
What a wonderful time I have had binge watching all your knitting videos. You have inspired me to try to knit my first sweater. Could you please suggest a very easy, beginner friendly sweater pattern? I have knit hats, scarves and am now knitting a shawl. I can’t wait to see how your finishes turn out. I also love all the socks you knit. Maybe after I knit my first sweater, I’ll tackle my first pair of socks. Thanks for all your wonderful videos!
Thank you Lisa! That is so sweet. My first sweater was the Novice sweater by PetiteKnit-very simple! If you want a raglan style, I did the Louisiana sweater by PetiteKnit next. Happy knitting! 🤍
I love your sweater that you are wearing. I have been experimenting with sock fit. Some things that have helped are 3x1 ribbing down the leg and top of foot, making my heel flap 4 rows longer, and after trying them on, I may or may not decrease all of the gusset stitches immediately, but leave like 4 for 10 rows then decrease them in the foot area.
😍 Thanks for sharing! And I just did my best phonetically haha 🙈 One of my best friends in 1st grade was from Finland, and when I finally got to visit there I found out they drink the most coffee in the world and I was like I’ve found my people!! 😍😂
You may find it helpful to look at Nimble Needles sock tutorials and patterns for men. Also Roxanne Richardson has many videos on how to make socks fit over the heel/ankle area.
I love that you posted today! I was thinking about your channel earlier! Nice to find someone else who 1) is indifferent to Wes Anderson, and 2) found the Sophie Scarf to be too much counting for mindless knitting. Your completed sweater looks amazing!
I have that weird loop with the German short rows every time!!!!!! I hate it so much that I'm giving up on GR short rows altogether. Maybe other short-row techniques are more even? I don't know. I couldn't find any information only what I may be doing wrong. I'm doing exactly what is taught. Anyway, just wanted to comment, maybe someone can help us both out :)) Your sweater is stunning!!!!It's the most beautiful sweater no. 9 I've seen so far :)
I’ve had the same issue with mens socks!! it’s so frustrating. I made my dad a pair and made sure to use ribbing the entire sock so it’d be extra stretchy and it fits but it is so hard to get over that ankle bone arch diagonal area. My boyfriend also had such a hard time pulling them over the same area even though they fit both their feet perfectly. It’s so annoying
So nice sweater😍Do you knit an asian sprout when you knitted this sweater? I don’t know how to translate korrekt in English, but I mean the difference between two parts of the sweater. Is this a reglan method? Reglan from the top?
@@truelaneknits true, but it would give you an idea of how much you have used so far. If you add the amount of stitches together for both sleeves that should give you an idea as to the amount of stitches on the body. Hey, i’m no expert, but it might help. Im playing yarn chicken myself at the moment🤣
You’re not making it up, I did write to Jacque Cousteau. I was probably 10 years old 🙂
YAS. That’s so sweet Dad! ❤
That sweater turned out so stunning! You glow in it!!
How is it possible that I have been unaware of the existence of LOTR themed yarn? Thank you for opening my eyes to the light (of the Eldar)!
It makes the pieces *that much* more emo to knit 🙈 and there are sooo many amazing dyers that do it! It’s such a great crossover of interests 😍
haha same here! i‘m a lotr and knitting fan and have never known that there could be a link - so intriguing 🤭
I’m in love with the confetti yarn 😍 they make your sweater look extra cozy!
I’m usually not a speckled garment person but wow you make them look so nice… I think I need one now 😂
😂 I’m obsessed. The key is the speckling for sure, keeping the little blips of color nice and small! Keep me posted if you make one 👀😍
@@truelaneknits I will definitely keep that in mind, I like more neutrals myself so that woiod probably be best. I definitely will!
I have come back at least 10 times to drool at your festival sweater. I need you to curate all my color combos for sweaters.
LOL. Thank you so much
Loved watching your backlog of videos! Just started knitting a few months ago and am also based in Bellingham and love hearing about local shops!
Thank you so much! How cool! Hope you start a podcast too! Hehe

Thank you so so much Sandra! I love knitting so much I’m so glad I found it this year ❤
All the Petite knits in eggnog(!) and sprinkles. So delicious. The first sweater looks wonderful & snuggly on you.
Thank you sooo much! I can’t wait until it gets cold enough to wear it. It will be hard not to reach for every single day hehe

I love the sweater you are wearing! We’ll done! And happy birthday 🎉
Thank youuuu!
Absolutely love this sweater! It definitely looks like something on a rack in a high-end store. 💙

Yesss the GREEN! So stoked. Thank you so much 🤍
I’ll be in Minneapolis in October too!! I’ve never been and I’m so excited for the yarn stores ❤
How wonderful!!! When will you be there? I really want to visit StephenBe 😍
@@truelaneknits Same! And I even made a Google Map with all the hot spots 😂 I messaged you on Instagram

Suomalainen lampaanvilla means Finnish lamb wool 😊 You prononounce finnish words really well!

You can weigh your yarn to see how much you have left
But I have no idea how much the sleeves will need!
