This song meant everything to me tonight. I just lost my son in April, and know the meaning of these words.
💔💔💔 I am so very sorry for your loss
@@taniaherbst9783 thank you so much.
I'm so sad now that I can't even express in words. I hope you meet him again in a nicer place. Hold on!
Very sorry for your loss, nobody should bury a child ❤
@@sen5908 thank you.
The audience was stunned into a second of complete silence…utterly phenomenal.
The stunned silence at his last note tells it all.
My dad died at 76 just two days ago, the cancer and other ailments ravaging his body was just too much, so this song means a lot. Only 43 and both parents are gone. Love them and appreciate them while you have them here, I'd give anything to have one more talk with my mom.
I am so sorry for your loss. My dad passed at 52 and my mom ay 86 so I understand your loss. I am the oldest of 7. I certainly figured I would be the first to go but we just lost my sister under me and a few weeks later lost my baby brother. My sister only sick awhile but my brother was complete shock. He was 64. So just everyone enjoy them while u have them life is very very short. Thank God we saw my brother at sisters funeral he lived in FL. so had not seen him in awhile. God bless u and u are so right enjoy while here. I promised my brother I would visit later well now later is to late.
I wish I could speak to my mum too 😢
Hang in there. There will come a time when all those memories do not hurt quite as bad anymore and you will be able to think back on the years you had with your dad and smile. It will still hurt, but it will be a good anyway.
I held my dying father's hand last year through two long nights. I will never forget the two last sentences he spoke to me. "What a beautiful day", he said, looking out of his window at the spring sunshine on the tree we planted together just 4 months earlier and later at night "Oh, me dear dear boy" when I helped him drink a sip of water. I still cry when to think of it, but each time it ends with smile and the tears become a little less.
I am so very sorry for your loss.
That has to be the most touching version of this song I've heard yet.
I can't lie, I cried. ❤
He sang it in a way that gave so much comfort
You gotta love his speaking voice as well as his singing !
Father Kelly put so much emotion in this song it was just incredible
The good father has wonderful talent. He's just lovely.💗💗💗💗
He sang as a vessel for the Spirit, the Comforter.
A couple of years ago I bought his CD. My dad and I love it!
What's a Comforter ?
@@Aintnobodygottimetodomath well in this context God and or the holy Spirit, the one who comforts. I'm not talking about a duvet.
@lethiapage4767 thanks for your reply, and no, I didn't mean the duvet either hihi...
Yes he did
That split second of silence before Simon stood up to clap...
Very good. Felt like you were talking to everyone. When he said, you’re not alone.
Father Kelly. Wow. Everyone was mesmerized by your gift of song. I am sitting on my front porch here in Canada. I could not wipe the smile off my face. Please Simon, Help Father make a CD and sing about life. The joys as well as the struggles. 💕🌸💕🌸💕🌸
Same in Toronto
Same in Sheffield
Simon standing up before everyone and also 👏🏾 first!!! That says it all!!!🙏🏾
I have watched him sing this song a couple dozen times. It never gets old. ❤ Beautifully done. ❤
No matter how famous you are we all can relate to this song
Sing for the glory of GOD! Thanks father Ray! God bless you more
His soul is like a papa figure telling a young child a story. It’s beautiful, innocent and beautiful and wise.
A gifted communicator of impeccable sincerity.
A perfect song you can sing to a friend who's feeling down. Don't hesitate. ❤❤❤
OMG Father Ray…my throat swelled up, my eyes teared up, my heart ached, from your rendition of this song by REM. Past memories flooded my soul as if I was going to burst.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart dear sir…I and God loves you.
Very, very moving. Beautiful.
Father Ray Kelly you are a gift from heaven. Thank you for sharing. You are so very talented.
You nailed it Fr. Ray Kelly
The song and the singer are ONE.
Praise the Lord
Blessed, Father ... this popped up on my feed and wow, I needed it tonight!
Seach on Father Ray Kelly and Halleluiah... he sang that at a wedding and that's what got him started being noticed
Oh wow, my heart just blew up... so beautiful, TY TY!!! ❤😊
Chills. Just chills.
He sings it so beautifully!!!!
This was so true - no ego, just singing because he felt it was important. The audience was clearly gobsmacked. I'm not crying, you are!
Your singing so sensitively touched my heart. We need something like this in the world. A heartfelt greeting ❤❤
Just beautiful. I'm tearing up.
Wow! Talk about touching my heart! That song and the singer were one! I cried.
Father, thank you for using God-given talent. Well done
He is a really good priest, caring man bless him great voice great song
He has such a lovely voice.
Absolutely beautiful performance by Father Ray. It was, quite literally, a soulful rendition. Good luck in the next round Father!!
❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏☘️☘️❤️❤️❤️
Such a moving rendition.
The silence at the end told how he captured the audience
I’ve never seen Simon react that way ❤️❤️❤️
Made me cry, such feeling. That was special
In tears and goosebumps. So beautiful.
I remember this audition, beautiful.
Its not often that a BGT audience gets stunned into silence!
I know this priest. I live a 5 minute drive from the town he was a Parish Priest in
It’s worth it to Google the wedding he sang at several years ago that went viral. When i saw his name as one of the people auditioning, I knew it would not be a disappointing performance…💝. What a lovely version sung by a lovely man….🥰
This was from his soul and ty Sir
He did more than sing a song did you notice the audience faces I did.
Maybe God sent David to deliver a message!
As soon as I saw his face on the thumbnail, I immediately recognized him from his viral video he made reference to, and I was so delighted to see him!
He sang Hallelujah at the wedding he officiated and he sang it so beautifully!
I hope he does well on BGT!
🙏🙏🙏
Very Beautiful Song and Singing - This brought tears to my Eyes. It was sung so so beautiful ❤️
My gosh his voice in the whole song! But those verses WOW!!
He bore his testimony through that song. As a parish priest he has helped carry people through all sorts of grief. Beautiful.
That was so beautiful. Praise the Lord.
Simply... beautiful. Authentic. Touching.
Incredible Fr. Kelly ❤ Praise the Lord for this perfect talent
chills and tears on this one.
Beautiful job of a beautiful. I was most touched by the absolute silence when Father Kelly had finished singing. It was as though his rendition of REM's song had touched the hearts of everyone in the audience and put them in a state of introspection which they were reluctant to leave. Simon getting up and applauding broke the spell and the audience followed with their demonstration of appreciation.
Thanks for sharing, shared.
Really beautiful interpretation, very moving!
INCREDIBLE voice! Beautiful performance! There’s nothing like Irish voices! They have the most perfect pitch!!!!
This is remarkable. A beautiful rendition
Heart felt, just WOW!!!
I've watched this many times and wi'll watch it many more❤❤❤
WOW This was wonderful.
Absolutely wonderful. God bless u, Preacher🎉🎉🎉
This song always shows up when i least expect it and when i really needed it. I think the silence at end had everyone in a trance before cheering.
God bless you, father, the gift of music knows no boundaries
Mir liefen die Tränen über die Wangen

I could see this man doing a ton of character voices for Disney Disney and stuff like that
What a beautiful performance!
Father Ray you have a beautiful voice. The song was amazing 😊
Amazing voice, 👏👏👏 May he go farther🥰🤩
Breathtaking! People that sign with the heart are people like Fr. Kelly. So genuine it really moves. Very few have this type of talent.
aww wow beautiful voice..sweet man..
Ahh his wee hand was shaking 😢🎉
got goosebump
Oh my what a voice
If he were my priest and REM the writers of my doctrine, I may have never left the church.
Please come back. The feeling you get with unconditional love from the father ( not the sinners in church seeking..) is unbelievable.
HE and the CHURCH are still there. The original bottom line has never changed.
So you were losing your religion?
