I was at the same point as you - all of the phillips screws out but didn't know about the two long bolts. Thanks so much for sharing that valuable secret.
Thank you so much. I can finally replace the power cord on this Bostitch device. I'd worked out the screws but couldn't work out how to complete dividing the housing so it's been just sitting here for a couple of years. Mine is a 2010 model and I could find no documentation anywhere on that model.
Best regards from Ecuador I was watching your videos on bostitch oilless compressor maintenance, Ecuador does not have spare parts and I have to import from the US to repair my Bostitch Cap2000p 1.5hp 135psi 6gallon compressor. I require your help from online stores to buy spare parts. He was grateful to everyone for their recommendation
Very entertaining or rather amusing. Especially, when you referred to those two long hex bolts as "Awful, Awful Studs" My personal take , I believe that it's just a designed they chose to employ. I don't feel that Stanley/Bostitch used the longer hex cap bolts to discourage individuals from disassembling the cover. I do however appreciate you demonstrating the process involved. Thank You
It is a pain in the ass.. the new cords terminals are inside the black box on the front of the compressor that the red on off switch is controlled. There is a screw u have to remove and remove the black box and there it is hiding in there!
8mm fits but those bolts just won't back out for me. Frustrated. There is no reason all the fasteners couldn't be phillips head screws. stupid Bostich.
Where did you find parts ? I have the same one, but the nut that goes from guage to tank has a big crack down it vertically where air is getting out...😢

I just bought Bostitch same as yours. It had a busted piston. I had everything to fix it but I had to order a belt. It works great. I love it.

Whew! That's a lot of compressed hot air to get this thing back together. Thanks for your effort.
Thanks to the video. Saved me from a lot of guesswork
@frankgomez_technology503 your welcome, a sub would be nice reward
Best regards from Ecuador

Not sure what parts you need
Dear sir, the parts I want are 1 piston ring, 1 cylinder, 1 connecting rod or piston, 1 set of valve gaskets.
thanks

Great Information! Has anyone replaced motor brushes? What size did you use? how did you modify connection?
I haven't needed to replace brushes, so I have no idea on size or how right at this time
Don’t! Forget about the drain valve on the bottom! Check it!
@@garyanderson9493 of course
What is that black cable called near the aluminum tubing
Any lubricants needed
Nope
how do you change out the power cord ????
Not sure, haven't needed to do that

My gauge won’t drop past 12-18psi but I let it sit for a day or 2. Any tips? If not I’ll have to disassemble for transport. 🤦🏻♂️
A world of help. Thank you up there in Canada 🇨🇦 don't ya know, from me, ZERO, down here in Las Fucking Vegas. God I hate it here.
THANK YOU 👍

Agreed

I didn't need parts to fix my problem. It was just a valve with no teflon, easy fix.
So where was the leak
The leak was on the hard line under the cover
@@armandchaput How did you fix it? Replaced the line?
Re taped the hard pipe and reinstalled
Thank you for the info. I’m going to try to take off those difficult bolts again. Couldn’t get them out the last time
I would appreciate a sub, thx
Has anyone done a Reed replacement
Not to my knowledge
Was valuable but hard to watch as you fiddled forever with fitting it back together. No personal information please
Lighten up Frances, smoke 🚬 some weed or get some Xanax, poor a real man's drink, actually do all of the above and stay in your own lane.
Thank you!
