Can you make a follow up video of this dust collector? I bet a bunch of people considering to purchase this would love it
thanks
A bit of a weird question, but when you turn it off, how long after does the fan keep spinning? I’m considering purchasing this unit and I’d like to know if it’ll keep spinning for a while. 10:14
@Halloween-Taken-Seriously it is just a whined down thing. It's not long at all
@@armandchaput but does it make the powering down sound
@Halloween-Taken-Seriously yes
@@armandchaput thanks for answering. I love the sound that dust collections make when they’re powering down so I’ll definitely be purchasing this unit
it sounded like you said somthing about grease when you sped up the video. did you put grease on the rubber part before putting it back ? also what kind of spark plugs did you buy ? you mentioned brand and stuff but is there like a model number to use for genesis coupe ?
They have the 55 gallen food barrels with a sealing lid all over FB marketplace and theyre pretty cheap. Theyre deeper and the lid seals better too. Maybe give it a shot
I gave up on buying anything else made by Ridgid after they refused to honor a lifetime warranty (printed on the box) when I went to register the tool to get the warranty. That's a SCAM as you have to buy the tool at ONE STORE to get that honored. Anywhere else and you're SOL. They also treated me like DIRT when I called. NEVER AGAIN.
fair enough
Hello, do you think I can find similar wing now these days? If so can you please help me to find it. I am in Toronto.
@MIR-jd8th I got mine from king canada, the other option is saw stop. But pricey.
Why did you have to replace the couplers? Was it at a certain speed or visual check
@@hiddenrainn visual check, big cracks
2011 and the 2010- 2012 and the 2013 up don't fit either brake line bracket is wrong or the link bar bracket is wrong. The one you installed is the correct one. Now the ones I purchased was the full assembly. Springs already installes
@@VeteranCatfishHunter I purchased mine from rockauto.
What is the part number for the front struts? I have ordered 2010- 2013 different part numbers and the brackets on both sets. I'm tured of nobody having the right ones. Thanks
@@VeteranCatfishHunter what year is yours?

You're video looks like it is useful, but the music is very distracting.
I like this solution, well done!
What is the overall length of the front rail? The manual doesn’t show it. Regards
@@daviddelano9734 64" are the rail lengths
Thank you for this video. If both board edges are uneven, you can in theory attach the fence side of the board to the long level and move both the level and attached board along the fence! But much easier to just use a track saw to make a straight edge on the fence-side edge and then run that edge along the fence. Or, you can build a micro-jig sled with clamps to put the board on and not rely on the fence, which was my solution until I threw money at the problem and just got a jointer!
@@Wyman642 any one of those would work
Don’t! Forget about the drain valve on the bottom! Check it!
@@garyanderson9493 of course
8mm fits but those bolts just won't back out for me. Frustrated. There is no reason all the fasteners couldn't be phillips head screws. stupid Bostich.
Agreed
Thanks to the video. Saved me from a lot of guesswork
@frankgomez_technology503 your welcome, a sub would be nice reward
Thanks for also pointing out the pathetic plastic cover with the self destructing clips. Replacement cover pricing is utterly insane Who was the genius at Stanley Black& Decker / Facom that designed the insipid plastic clips on cover? The release mechanism is another design cock up.
@cf1080 a sub would help me out
What brand or model saw and fence are you installing?
The table saw is a ridgid r4512, and the fence is from busy bee cx 230
I have one also and I suggest you get a corded drill you have more control and stay at a consistent pace. That's just what has worked great for me
Anyone knowledgeable on the legal implications of selling “modified” products using sports cards. Copyright, likeness, etc? I want to make a project like this for myself, and I want to avoid a cease and desist haha
no money exchanged hands, so the legal stuff is not applicable
does this same for the sedan 3.8? thanks. plus did you change the front one as well.
Not sure about the sedan
use a skill saw blade to make the initial cut and you won't have to make the slit in the bottom to fit over the saw blade. also if you are going to be making more in the future you can make a template out of plexi glass to locate the indents in the bottom.
Good idea
You have too much turbulence inside that small barrel and its pulling it back out to the filter. You need to mount it on top of another barrel to give the dust a place to fall and get out of the cyclonic air stream. Easy fix. I did this only I used 2 55 gallon drums with an 8" accordion hose between them and get zero dust to my filters
excellent idea. I'm in the process of building a garage vac 240cfm max 70 inches water max. My question is did you put the 8 inch hole in the center of the bottom/top between the 2 drums or as close to the side of the bottom/top of the drums as you can?
Just a hint; talk to your scrap yard before stripping romex. 10 years ago I refurbished a house from the 1940's. It had knob and tube, tar and paper wrapped romex and newer romex. The scrap price for romex in the sheath was more than what I would have gotten for it stripping it. Scrap metal prices vary day to day. Always try to strip your copper so it is called 'Bright'.
I am doing the same thing. On RockAuto they didn’t specify if these are pre greased or not. I haven’t opened the box to check if they are and I’m at work at the moment. Do you know if these need to be greased upon installation or not?
Not that I could recall
can you tell me the torque specs of drive shaft bolts/nuts?
Check the forums, I cannot remember the torque settings. Sorry
Your bin is too small for a 2HP machine. Need 200 L bin.
Awesome build! Doing something very similar for a bartop. Anything you would change about your process? How did you scuff the cards for the flood coat?
I would tint the epoxy a very light blue to combat the yellowing from uv. I just sanded each card before epoxy them down
If price is the selling point just go with something even below the crafex you can get planers for less than half that price even and they'll get you close if u already have to do some finish sanding
That's almost certainly ash
Really appreciate the genesis coupe content main reason for subscribing😊
what is the size of the screw besides that the suggested length is 3/4 inch? like the thread and what size of the screw? 3/8? thanks
It looks nice!! Awesome work!
Thanks
Give me a sub would be nice
how do you change out the power cord ????
Not sure, haven't needed to do that
It is a pain in the ass.. the new cords terminals are inside the black box on the front of the compressor that the red on off switch is controlled. There is a screw u have to remove and remove the black box and there it is hiding in there!
I have questions about my wire stripper? Can u help?
Maybe, fire away
Because it’s more pliable you don’t have to straighten braided wires. They feed through on their own. They also have larger models that can handle wire to just over 3 in diameter.
New follower 🙋🏽♂️!!!! Maestro!!! Would you pls be kind and explain the difference in blades or thickness and what are the best blades to cut what types of woods, i just bought a new Rikon 14” inch bandsaw….. i would greatly appreciate it ! Thank you!!!!
It all depends on what you are planning to cut with the saw. For example, if you were to cut some wet wood. You would use a 3/8 blade and cut slow.
Lovin them sound effects sir!!!!!! I like to weasel as well😹😹😹👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Just wrong what year!

Chief we don’t need a whole compare and contrast on the parts. Video is labeled how to remove the door panel. Otherwise decent video
Thank you so much. I can finally replace the power cord on this Bostitch device. I'd worked out the screws but couldn't work out how to complete dividing the housing so it's been just sitting here for a couple of years. Mine is a 2010 model and I could find no documentation anywhere on that model.
Great video. I bought one for myself. I used to use a utility knife but that got old pretty quick. And I love whatever that music in the bachground is. I couldn't quite make out who it was but it sounded pretty good!👍
6:55 if doing this, it's easier to put the bolts, and nuts on the saw first. Tighten the bolts down 7ntil there's about a ¼" of extra space on the bolt. Then you just slide the rail onto the bolts one at a time until everything is lined up.
Maybe your barrel is too small. I put these on a 55gal drum keeping the holes as close to the edge as possible and it works great.
Bigger bucket might work, thanks
Thanks, appreciate the info.
I would appreciate the sub
Remember, this system is probably designed to work with a typical, but relatively powerful shop vac. As compared to traditional dust collectors, shop vacs operate with large 'suction pressure' but relative low airflow. So the suck hard (large static pressure), but they don't suck a whole lot (metric equiv of cu ft/min). I think the problem here is that the cyclonic action created by the large airflow from your dust collector (probably the metric equivalent to 500 to 1000 cu ft/min) is creating a really large 'tornado' effect extending down from the bottom surface of the separator lid all the way down to the bottom of the trash can (or the surface of the already collected material). If you have already collected debris, this material is whipped about by the cyclone and it's sufficient force to bring the fine dust back up in the air column so that it gets sucked OUT of the trash can and into your dust collector itself. This problem illustrates why typical (and successful) cyclonic separators are designed the way they are. First they include a significant (usually vertical, except see Harvey Gyro Air G700) distance between the bottom outlet of the cyclonic funnel and the top of the collected material. This prevents most of the recirculation of previously separated and collected material including the fine material. The other feature is the funnel shape itself. This causes the diameter of the rotation of material to decrease as it falls. This helps to maintain velocity for a longer period allowing more material to move to the outside of the flow so that it falls into the collection container and is not sucked back up into the air leaving the cyclonic separator and headed to the dust collector. The Phil Thein baffle mentioned in an earlier comment here (@johncolley7643) can provide a similar effect by placing a partial horizontal baffle along near the upper circumference of the separator to increase the effective separation between the heavier material that will fall to the bottom and the air and finer material that will move on to the dust collector itself.
Looks great! I have the same fence never used (New) and I’m trying to sell it for $85, if anyone is interested.
Do you still have the saw fence?
I will buy it
Great video. Do you still use the blade one year later? If so, what blade is it?
I have several different blades that I am trying out
Do you need a spring compressor?
