This game is my childhood. I played and beat this long before playing any of the Zelda games. So this was my unofficial introduction to the franchise. Too bad this game never got the recognition it deserved. Ah well. Grats on the world record!
I love this game ! It took me years to finish it because I didn't know how to use the rope to climb the stones... And it took my another year to find the fire scroll using the ice bell
How did you enter the last dungeon without fire magic? In my childhood it took years for me to do so because I didn't get fire magic and the earthquake didn't happen until the princess mark the dungeon in the map. Maybe if you don't get the baloon this does not activate like this... Maybe a different version. I remember I've entered this room many times before and the earthquake doesn't happens until she marks the X on the map after upgrading the fire magic.
For boss types 1 and 3 don't enter the room fully. Press up to enter from below but as soon as the screen switches, let go of the pad. Stay there wait for the boss and hit it. You are mostly invincible in that spot. Excellent game. Better graphics than Zelda (released much later too). I've finished countless times. I hoped it would be unlockable on the Switch genesis compilation but no 😢.

First Time I played this was on my PS3 Sonic collections it took me 2 weeks to beat it gotta say this is a very good game
Why is no one using the warp tiles on these speed runs? It’s a game mechanic… or is it against some rules?
