POV Review - Audi TTS

- Join me, point-of-view, as I review my own 2010 Audi TTS. I guide you round the exterior and interior features, as well as driving the car along some country roads and through London.
I thought it was about time that I conducted my first ever review, and there was no better place to start than my own car. I've owned the TTS for a couple of years and absolutely love it.
I took the car outside of London to do some filming and apart from the wind, it hopefully lets you see the car in some different situations that the usual POVlogs.

I remember watching this video at the start of 2015 when I was still in school. Fast forward to the end of 2020 and I'm about to buy my own Audi TTS. Completely forgot about this review but I'm so glad I stumbled upon it again. Can't believe this was your first review, and so glad I got to meet you during #DriveTheWorld in Cape Town. Cheers Sam!

You seem like a actual entertainer and a realistic petrol-head as oppose to the others I mentioned who even to me (and i come from a very wealthy family) seem unrealistic with how they present their life and their knowledge of cars. I see that there is this slight sense of privilege in modern exotic car culture to NOT know every thing about your car and have the mentality of "well I can afford it so i do not car how it works" and even in your recent videos you do not pride yourself of your ignorance and seem to be a very good person to know and extremely funny to watch!!!

seen this car go 0-62 mp/h in 4.9 it was 272 hp 2.0 turbo. how come your order 5.4 ? or did u read it from the manuall?

No prob if your car is dirty, as you said in a comment it looks more 'authentic', more real, and shows the way the car will really look like + there are already lots of videos with the car really clean. What's the difference between Audi TTS and Audi TT S-Line? Is TTS = TT S-Line?
@@samuellee8623 No, they are different. The Audi TT S-Line is a trim of the standard Audi TT, whereas the Audi TTS is the next model up.
I've had two TTS so far....2011 and 2015 Competition Pkg....love them both. 0-60 mph in US is stated at 4.9 sec. Got a deposit on new TTRS now.

Great looking machine! It's so strange seeing a car without the driving position on the left side lol... I'm sure it looks odd to people who aren't used to seeing it on the left side as well. Anyway, thanks so much for the video! I definitely gave it a like.

Do you miss this car ever? I drive an X5M and have a 997 but am weirdly drawn to trying to buy one of these and then doing a stage 2 chip to take it on a charity tour around Europe that I’m organising! Seems a LOT of car for what they’re going for now!

I m looking forward for this car but the only thing that holds me from buying one are these back seats, are they so small?I m 5’7 (1.71 m) and my friends are taller but not by much

I own the 2011 Audi TT. Got a guy a few states away coming to try to ram a Nissan GTR engine inside of it. I'll let you know how that goes.

absolutely love your videos and your tts, theres something about it that I cant put my finger on. Its the same with all the S models, would pick them over the RS ones anyday. Any chance of a new car in 2015 at all or...?

You can spin, slide etc in those conditions in the uk at 40mph in the wrong car

mike191817 It's a cracking car man. Only thing I miss from my previous car (Audi A4) is the infotainment screen. Other than that it's met or exceeded all expectations!
This is a great video. The ones you are doing in these days (nov-dec 2015) are not as good.

So I'm thinking I need to get one of these- I was thinking I'd get a manual though because of all the scare stories I've read about the S-Tronic failing. Have you had any problems with yours? And that MPG figure...any idea what it is when you're not driving in the city?
And a slightly more random question. Do you reckon it's possible to fit a mountain bike in the back if the wheels are off?
staggabob Hey! They are absolutely awesome cars and I have never had a problem with the S-Tronic...not even a hiccup. I'm surprised to hear youve read so many bad things about it.
You have to remember I do a lot of city driving with lots of short bursts of acceleration so my MPG figure is quite unrealisitc. When i first go the car, I would do 24/25 in city and about 32/34 on the motorway. Hope that helps
In terms of a mountain bike, ha, im not sure..but i have fit some surprisingly big things in the back when you put the seats down..including a table from IKEA!
Seen Through Glass Thanks for the quick reply! The mechatronic unit in the S-Tronic has been a widely reported problem with a £2500 repair bill so although I really really want the paddle shift the sensible part of my brain says it's too much of a risk on a 2nd hand car. And those fuel figures are a little worrying since my Z4 averages 36-8 on the motorway and the TTS is supposed to be more economical but maybe that's your driving :)
But I've got my heart set on a TT at some point, hopefully in the near future, so it's definitely useful to get feedback from an owner, cheers!

Trivia: Thanks for giving way to the cyclists and allowing them a comfortable and safe space. I'm finding this many years after the fact. Considering one of these for a toy around Hong Kong for a few years.
Road Noise ??
The only people who have ever associated the TT with hairdressers are one or two writers in the media - nobody else has ever referred to the TT as a hairdresser's car (save for people repeating the original hairdresser's reference). My hairdresser drives a Ford Fiesta.

My father-in-law bought a 2013 Mustang Shelby Cobra GT500 "for his wife."
As far as reliability, though not a TTS, my 2010 S5 has been absolutely perfect thus far with about 90,000 miles on the clock.
Got her bmw 135i instead. Have a s2 exige s for myself

The dial swoosh doesnt happen on all audi models ;) I had to modify the s6 to get it ;)

You actually owned a car you knew shit about.
The TTS compared to the standard TT has uprated pistons, rods, cylinder head, mag ride, sits lower, bigger turbo, bigger brakes, thicker sway bars, the silver mirror caps, rear bumper diffuser, quad exhaust pipes and last but not least different gearing.
The little bits you pointed at the front bumper was just a marketing thing you got ripped of from the dealer that sold it to you.
Couple of years later, today you can admit you bought it just for the looks.

@@experiment54 not too bad. Wish i had the Quattro and a manual transmission but the pirelli tires i had gripped well. (No longer have the car). I going for a Honda civic si sedan w/ manual transmission. The TT will forever be the car I’d want to get back in the future
