      +pariodeusex Too bad there was nothing about advantages and disadvantages on the piston pumps. Would have helped a lot if you in the future are goin to use of these such pumps for a project involving hydrostatic usage on a new level.

    Why did nobody notice that they dropped the pros and cons of the types towards the end and that the left out a lot of types??

    • @TrasherBiner
      @TrasherBiner 4 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Because the disadvantages I feel where like "yeah these works well but break easily with wear and tear, cavitation and liquid hammer". I hated and started skipping the video when the narrator stoped saying pros and cons. I think this is the result of shoddy script writing.

      because the only disadvantage in the last few is cost. they are all vastly supperior to the other types, in that they do not have the problems that they do.

    Isn’t there a worm screw pump that operates slowly but can handle incredible amounts of pressure

    • @Cheezymuffin.
      @Cheezymuffin. 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes, I think there are also pumps that work using a impeller.
      however, these might not classfiy as "hydraulic" pumps.
      I don't know if there is a difference between "pump" and "hydraulic pump" tbh

    • @muh1h1
      @muh1h1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Cheezymuffin. A Hydraulic pump needs to be a positive Displacement Pump, meaning that it deliveres a fixed amound of fluid per revolution. Think of it as a fixed flow pump, as opposed to a non-positive displacement pump, which moves the fluid with a constant pressure.

    At 2:54. At vain type. The rotor should be none concentric with outer casing and its the one sealing the flowing back of fluid. The Vain should be concentric with rotating rotor. The clearance between rotating and stationary shaft should not be the same.

    I love stuff about engineering, but there is one thing that is incorrect here. During the part about hand pumps, he states that all hand pumps are of the piston variety. Not true, as when I was working at a shop, we extracted 10W30 from large barrels via a hand-cranked rotary vane pump. Still, good video.

  • @servicedept2454
    @servicedept2454 ปีที่แล้ว

    The red and blue in the pistons is misleading. 4:40 Presumably red indicates pumping pressure. The pistons should be red throughout the portion of revolution where cylinder volume is reduced. The curved arrows are correct. But the gradual change from blue to red indicates that pressure gradually builds. Then on the expansion stroke only gradually releases.
