I use NovelAI and it helps me when I write myself into a corner. I write a little, it writes a little, I edit it and write a little more.

Thanks for citing your sources in the show notes, and bringing that article from Wired to my attention. I gave your channel a shoutout during my live stream on 12/26/22. Cheers!

This is such a great episode. The food for thought has mas me so full :-)
i simply love a sentence and all the thoughts from a sentence like:
"it is just not plagiarism basicaly.(...) except perhaps for like the shere plaigiarism of the spirit of the dead who we use for the brains that we are wirking with."
.. And then finishing by explaining that the AI output will never brech the copyrights of authors because the output will be ever changing and never be the same twise. Therefore there is no plagiarism.

I wonder if it will be limited by using GPT2. Will they advance to GPT3 in the future?

We're currently using GPT-2 as we can host it and easily and quickly fine-tune for our users. But we've made the system so that we can change LLMs over time - as it gets faster and cheaper to work with others (& as they become open-source), we'll keep iterating!

How is using AI for inspiration and ideas fundamentally different from what creatives already do? We get our inspiration from copyrighted books, blogs, podcasts, articles, movies, shows, or ads. Or from other people we’ve talked to or watched. Most books, movies, or shows share similar scenes or character types. Even music has “sampling.” I don’t see a difference with using AI for writing or art.

It's just inspiration on steroids. Give it a go and you will see how it works :)

As someone also in the visual arts community, I understand that the issue is not using AI for inspiration but using AI to effectively monetise someone else's IP without their consent. In the art world, this is very problematic for freelancers and independents as people can then basically train the AI with all of their images (say, from Instagram feeds) and then sell that work/art style as their own. Sampling in the music industry requires licensing/permission from the original artists and there are lawsuits when this contract is not in place. Of course, it's the people who cannot afford the lawyers and defence that are the most hurt by this 'sampling' of their IP.

Ok so I tried another AI and it doesn't rearrange much. Maybe only one or two words to make it sound better. Anyway, it works well for ad copy though 😉 can't wait to try this

Ok. So this really does sound interesting. How you can have AI help make sale pitch and help you in other ways. Just signed up for the beta.

I talked about how to prompt it for a sales description in my previous show intro, so have a listen to that too.

A.I. doesn't have the human experience for natural creativity, so I'm not sure how helpful it would be.

@@thecreativepenn Good point. It would be quite helpful to have a co-author.😊
