Capsule Coloring Collection: Top 23 Books for 2023

- For 2023, I decided to create a capsule collection of the 23 books I want to color in most throughout the year. In this video I share those 23 books and a little about why I chose them. I hope to get lots of great coloring done in them this year! Thanks so much for checking out the collection!!

I'm really excited about Circle of Life by Melpomeni Chatzipanagiotou as well. I've ordered it and am so looking forward to colouring those beautiful pages. Although you posted this video at the beginning of 2023, I share many of your sentiments regarding your top books of this year. Like you, I'm loving Mythic World because there's so much scope for the imagination in the way the pages can be interpreted.

I am new to the coloring scene but my goal for this year is to complete one of the Matchstick Mouse books. Haven't started yet but it looks doable.
Oh Matchstick Mouse is a great goal! I love those books and love that the pages are a little quicker to complete. Gives a great feeling of accomplishment and the pages always turn out so cute too. Thank you for watching! Enjoy your coloring and good luck reaching your goal!!
You can totally do at least one page in each of those.... we definitely have the same taste in pages and books. I also love to hear frogs at night. Your work is very pretty. The 23 idea was really cool. Something that has sped up my work a bit is basing some things with markers. Certainly a learning curve to that also.
Hi! Thanks for watching and for the nice words too!! I need to push myself to do more basing with marker. I have done it only once or twice and you are right, it really does make it easier to get a page done. But it has its own challenges with picking the right tone of colored pencil to go on top and knowing exactly where to put the shading. I am still in awe of everyone who can do that so well. But practice makes progress so I need to keep at it :) It's a great method to keep in mind. Enjoy your coloring!!

Happy to be here. (...zips off to finish the video...) Edit: Just got to Debbie Macomber's book--20 years ago she was a neighbor of mine! She's a supernice lady who writes romance novels (not the x-rated ones), and her coloring books reflect her writing style (and books), very warm and inviting. Her last name is pronounced MaKOHMber.

12:27 that lava monster is the first one that I completed in that book. It took me about 2 months to complete and I am really proud how it turned out. I also completed the turtle with world on its back and am currently working on my 3rd picture in this incredibly detailed book

Lol, just this month I ran across two Daria song books and I bought them both at different times. First I got night voyage because it just drew me in and then when I went back to the store I found a single copy of Time garden so I grabbed that as well. You have the only one of that series is impossible to find because it's out of print lol.

I had the same goal of having a completed book to read to my future grandchildren! Happy to say that I wrote a story for Johanna’s World of Flowers book, inked it into the book and it’s now completely colored! 💪🏻 😅 Now I have the same goal for another book - The Bakers Dozen, a beautiful and intimidating Christmas story. Hope you reach your goal too!

Thank you! And yes to a buddy color on any of those!! I will let you chose which you prefer as I am good with any of them. I can definitely use the added motivation of a buddy to get me through one of those.

Good luck... I like this approach, and I'm considering compiling my capsule collection of colouring books. I'm wondering if 23 is going to be too much... The 10 books to complete seemed like setting yourself up for failure - even if, from the start, it is clearly an impossible goal
Thank you! For sure I set myself up for failure with completing the 10!! The beauty of having these "favorite" 23 around is that I have them close at hand to grab from but if I don't that's ok too. I did get two of them colored in in January plus a WIP in another so I feel like I'm off to a good start. The real question will be if I am absolutely sick of these books by like July....we'll see. It's all trial and error here!! Thanks for watching!

Hi Kelly! I'm working in my 2 Mythographic books, Paradise and Dream Gardens. Rooms of Wonder and World's Within World's. I will be finishing 2 Buddy Color Books with Pixie @pixiesprojects. Not Big plans, but I don't usually make plans, I did real good for 2022, I Colored 250 pictures, which was a huge shock to Me!😲
Hi Sherry! We have a few books in common on our list then!! Hopefully you are less intimidated by them then I am. Some of those will be a real challenge for me but a fun challenge. Hi Kelly! I have found, that the more Color you put on the Mythographic pages, the less intimidating they are. I usually do between 15 to 20 pages a month. Some easier, than others. 250 is a huge number!💜
