I want to be able to use multiple smartphones, one at a time but have them synced with each other so that the pictures, calls and texts are all kept organized as one. I can't find a video of anyone doing this. I can't be the only person who wants to be able to do this. Why? I lost a new smartphone to a powerful riding mower when I could have been using a much older one instead for that work period.

After the transfer all the passwords that are saved in Samsung passwords will they still be saved for finger prints
Please help! Does the phone transfer all settings from s21 ultra to s22 ultra? Including those settings you press build number In settings so you enter developer mode that you changed?
If it's a Samsung phone all you have to do is use smart switch. It will transfer all the settings. But you'll have to re log into all the apps. Unless you use smart passwords by Samsung which will store them all.

@@jbox8450 took out my SD card and put it afterward in the other phone. As for the chrome it has to be synced in their cloud before. If it is, yeah it transfers when loading back your Google Account.
@@BrianR-ML so just to be clear.....you took your sd card out of your old phone before transferring data and then after transferring your data to the new phone, you then put your sd card in the new phone?

I'd rate this video a 10 out of 10 except for one teeny tiny thing. When you are going through the selections to see what you want to transfer (images, videos) you don't look at the details of the apps selection which has a red exclamation point! :) so I now give this video 9.9999 out of 10. :)

Hi!! How do I transfer the data of old backed up photos from google photos?
There was no mention of any prep work needed for both phones prior to starting the smart switch copy (other than connecting the new phone to a power source and network connecting or pairing). Otherwise, run smart switch pretty much with the new phone right out of the box?
I ordered the adaptor not realizing I could go usb c to usb c with the new charger. Pretty neat!

What type of cable is used when you choose the cable option instead of wireless? I have a ton of content to transfer and I bet cable can carry more data in a shorter time.

Having just done this with my new S20+ and the phone having used the sim card from the shop whilst the PAC was transferring my old number, the settings, 'about phone' is showing 'Unknown' as the phone number. It previously had a number attributed to the initial sim card from the shop. What do I need to do to show my previous number? Anything t do with switching sim cards??

The first time I used Smart Switch I used the cable. Then decided to transfer a couple of games, but forgot to hook up the cable. And it did it wirelessly. Talk about your happy accidents. They named it right.

@@ellew737 you can back up WhatsApp data to google drive in WhatsApp setting/chat/chat backup, then retrieved it after installing WhatsApp on a new device. Its also a very simple task to be done.

if this helps i found this statement, "To use a smart switch you need connectivity between the 2 phones. If the connectivity is through bluetooth then no sim card is required. If the connectivity is through wifi from one of the phones you just one with a sim card."

Old cell Samsung S7 to Samsung A53 - just make sure you have an updated Smart Switch program on your old phone and then it goes just like the video - thanks for the info.

Took me 4 hours to do Smart Switch by Cable (I kept losing connection doing it wirelessly), but I also had over 400 GB of data to transfer over lol.

Thanks bro, I was minutes away from throwing some things lol. I spent an hour trying to get this to work
It was a headache when I bought my S22 Ultra. Upgrading from S10 Plus. I did this method and I had about 100 GB of videos with mostly 4K videos at 60 fps. I left it the whole night and it still didn't complete the transfer. I gave up and canceled the whole thing and redo it without the videos. I transferred the videos to my PC first via USB-C and repeated this method again within only minutes without video files. Then I transferred the videos from PC to new phone. Easier that way!

That was the same question I had! I'm trying to back up and transfer from my old note to my new z fold and they sent me a new SIM with the Fold due to it being 5G, and I heard him say to place the SIM in your new device at 0:54 however when was not discussed at that time. So I am currently stuck on that as well

Thanks for a good video, which provides more info than most such videos. More things that would be nice to know: 1) What is "WiFi direct"? Do you mean NFC? Or is there actually some WiFi mode where phones can connect to each other without going through a router? 2) Given that most people would not want to use a cable, what are the other connectivity options? E.g. can I enable WiFi on both and do this transfer via a router? 3) If I have my photo Gallery organized extensively into folders (besides just the default ones), does Smart Switch preserve my folder structure? What if my old phone is an LG and my new one is a Samsung - does Smart Switch know enough about (the old) LG's Gallery app to preserve the folder structure? 4) I notice that both your phones seem to be connected to a mobile network, which means that you have SIM cards in both. Most people wouldn't have active SIM cards in both - it would be either one or the other. If only one phone has a SIM card, then does it matter which one? Another way to ask this: If I can have only one SIM active at a time, should I do the Smart Switch before or after I have my carrier enable the SIM card in the new phone? THANKS!
I only have Sim in one phone. That's why one doesn't show or say 5G or 4G LTE. Once I move everything over, then i move my sim over and do a test call and text. NFC is Near Field Communication. It is used mostly for sending small packets of data. Transferring data via WiFi direct is where a phone creates essentially its on wifi network to the other phone to transfer large amounts of data way faster than Bluetooth.

Does this also transfer all your custom ringtones and notifications for each app and contact? Or will I have to re-set all that up again?
It was going well but it stopped at 60.7% and it's been there for a long time. I'm transferring from my S8 to the S21. It's been doing it for at least an hour so I'm not sure if something's wrong with it. It's stuck in apps and app data, and already did messages. Should I wait or click stop? And if I click stop will it be able to pick up where it left off? 😅

So if we put the memory card after switching data, won't all the pictures and videos on the card show twice in new phone?
I believe if the data is on the SD card then it wont just transfer over. Its more so that storged on the phone. Once you put your SD in then whatever pictures are on them will be there.
