  • After getting some other projects wrapped up in the shop, it’s time that we get moving on the ‘53 TD assembly project. We’re taking a little time in this video to discuss why most shops won’t take on partially finished restorations and how easily your budget and timeframe can change once a shop is willing to take it on and they get started. This project came to us as a partially completed restoration already in paint, and we had to take some time to figure out the root cause of the misalignment of the bonnet along with other things that just weren’t quite right in what has already been put together, leading to some “backwards assembly progress” before we can actually move forward on the project.

I have a very lovely’53 it was rebuilt by a mechanic that has now passed away… I bought it of a main dealer who couldn’t go over it to make sure it was right…. No I paid no real money for it… it suffers a bit from the issues in your video..👍

Yeah ----- I know what you mean ------ I read about these stories ------- sometimes the car has been to a couple different shops ---- not finished for whatever reason and a different shop starts on it ------- THAT IS EXPENSIVE ------ Glad your customer is trusting in you ------ you have a Cover Car that was done probably to Show quality ----- something you have ---- to SHOW for your work ------ You know ---- it's not just Restoration work ---- but guys having their Hot Rods done ----- sometimes there ----- it's shotty work ----- And the work that was done ----- ends up NOT being safe to be running down the road -------- Well ----- the TD should look really nice when you are done it's too bad people have to go through this ------- Hope you have a Good Week -------- Rodney

I’ll bet there’s a bit more to that story. Like bad dealer prep or the like
