it's so true. and in all honesty, this is the way to sell people on watches. it's incredibly interesting, well shot, and the narration is sublime. thanks for all of these!
Precisely... here is another fine example... haha “...park the Morgan on the drive, warm up your Simaudio Moon amp, check the time on your Montblanc Pulsometer, and all will be well...”
MB is definitely under rated and great alternative to a lot of other brands but all this goes back to one thing most people buy luxury watches without a deeper understanding of what they are getting. Mostly just a status symbol so brand recognition trumps other expects.
I love your videos. The love, and attention to detail extends beyond the watches you feature and into the videos themselves. This is your best yet. An ode to the romance of precision watchmaking.
If Movado can go from good to shit, I dont see a reason why MB cant go from shit to good. I never understood why it matters in the first place. You guessed it right, Im a Grand Seiko kind of guy.
pilotstyle123 As much as i like seiko god damn i hate their fans. It‘s the same cancerous community as nissan gtr fanboys. I don‘t get why japanese stuff attracts so many insuffrable people
honestly, if you're considering the mb @ 35k, is the pp- even at a little more than double the cost- that unrealistic a proposition? if you're able to afford 35k watches- and while it seems a huge jump-, is 70k really that unrealistic? sorry, but the mb makes no sense to me- i'd much rather hold off a little longer and get the pp. that said, i'd take a 1518 chrono over either.
Bought the exquisite Montblanc Bohème Day & Night for my wife’s 40th and she loves it. It also happens to be a real eye turner. Thank you Watchfinder for the insight. Another excellent and enlightening show. Now I need to learn more about Minerva. Looking forward to the next.
God this channel is so consistently amazing. I love shopping off the beaten path, but I probably wouldn't ever go so far as Montblanc. I think Jaeger is a good middle ground for the watch-informed.
Favorite channel. I bougth my first high end watch after watching all these. A 68 Omega Constellation white gold bezel! You should talk about Omega's Constellation heritage!
I absolutely love your videos , your dialectics are soothing yet informative , a great calibre of interest , thank you ....please keep doing what you're doing ...
Brilliantly done. I love Minerva NEO vintage. From the late 1990s with display casebacks from the original Minerva company before they were sold in the year 2,000.
I just love your videos, great cadence, interesting topic choices, and an opinion that both reflects and teaches the enthusiast. Thank you for existing.
Thanks for yet another great video, Fabulous as always, and I do resonate with those inspiring words at the end @8:24.....Or, in my case...Park the Rolser shopping trolley in the hallway. Warm up the ALBA 3035 amp. Check the time on the Invicta Pro Diver, and all will be well....Especially as it's Vindaloo night...Have a great weekend everyone!
The secret has been out. At a job interview I broke a rule by complimenting the CEO of a company on his watch. It was a Montblanc Minerva and he started to explain how Montblanc watches are excellent as he had two more at home, taking his watch off so I could look at it. He was stunned as I was the first person to let him know I was aware of their fine watches of Minerva, as he told this speech to dozens of people who did not know a fine watch when it was in their face and noted they make good pens.
I did not get the job! Devastating..... A good company although another opportunity came up and I got that which allows me to do far more part time watch restoration and servicing.
Mont blanc makes a wonderful watch. Honestly, put one on and feel it. I’ve never felt a Patek but the mont blanc feel special. I am not in a position to be able to afford it either but I respect the Mont Blanc for being accessible
@Magister Ludi why shouldn't't they put it in a MontBlanc. It offers the same valve without much depreciation compared to some others on it's price league. I dare say it is better than ant Rolex.
As I was watching this video my son said, "dad that sounds like a younger David Attenborough" (spelling?). Exceptional watches, exceptional presentation. I love the Minerva, quite the right little upstart in the room, however that PP looks incredible.
I am looking to buy an Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch or a Seamaster Planet Ocean in steel. I am tilted towards the elegance and historical value of the Moonwatch but am apprehensive about its average deviation during use. Can you please advise on the Moonwatch's accuracy to help me decide. Thank you
Im just sorry MB doesn't have right length of the hands to fill the dial. Braitling and IWC have this problem from time to time too. I hope they bring back in future Minervas wide pusher movements. I love those
Please review the Perpetual Calendar from Ochs Und Junior and the amazingly esoteric mind of Ludwig Oechslin. Very similar to, in spirit, the watches from H. Moser & Cie... not well known, but incredible in their own right.
I admire both, but can afford neither. A Speedmaster Professional however is in the realm of possibility. Can you please review other mechanical chronographs with display caseback in the same price range?
Very well done video. Where engineering meets artistry. Both watches are lovely and amazing examples of the very best craftsmanship. Too bad the prices are so absurd.
Great video. Could you review the worlds cheapest automatic world time. I speak of the Ball Engineer WT. A dive watch, with day and date as wel, as a world time function. All for less than £2000.
We know you want more watches…. click here: linktr.ee/watchfinder
By far the best story teller I have seen.seldom one can hear this type of story telling.Highly impressive
Me watching this video:
"Please be $5k. Please be $5k."
Watchfinder guy:
"Less than half the Patek Philippe."
Me:
😥
i felt this
This channel has by far the most interesting horological content of any I’ve come across on TH-cam.
You're not wrong💯💯
this is great but you will like federico talks watches too, very different content but watches at the end.
I could hear this guy talk about watches forever
Jaden Abed i could listen to his sound for eternity
I hope heaven is real just so I can have this forever.
it's so true. and in all honesty, this is the way to sell people on watches. it's incredibly interesting, well shot, and the narration is sublime. thanks for all of these!
Geoff Longford 🚪👈🏻
that's Scott Joseph for u
"More confusing than a vegan dairy farmer" - The writing in these videos is both bizarre and wonderful at the same time.
Precisely...
here is another fine example... haha
“...park the Morgan on the drive, warm up your Simaudio Moon amp, check the time on your Montblanc Pulsometer, and all will be well...”
"A pipe dream for even the most hardcore of opium smoking literati" is literally the best sentence ever uttered in a watch review ever 😂
Maybe to the simpletons also fascinated by shiny objects.
This guy deserves an award. The way he talks about watches so crisply is rare!!
My Casio needs a new battery.
I recommend you get a solar one ;)
MB is definitely under rated and great alternative to a lot of other brands but all this goes back to one thing most people buy luxury watches without a deeper understanding of what they are getting. Mostly just a status symbol so brand recognition trumps other expects.
I'm numbed to the prices of these watches now... I heard "three to five thousand pounds" and I thought, "wow that's pretty good, almost cheap." 🤦♀️
Your dialogue is brilliant so is the delivery. Extremely well written. Informational and witty while being formal. 👍
Monologue?
Montblanc's not too bad. That one in particular is about $35k, no wonder it's beautiful.
I love your videos. The love, and attention to detail extends beyond the watches you feature and into the videos themselves. This is your best yet. An ode to the romance of precision watchmaking.
My favorite channel on TH-cam.
Hear hear
radukris mine too
You poor lost soul.
If Movado can go from good to shit, I dont see a reason why MB cant go from shit to good. I never understood why it matters in the first place. You guessed it right, Im a Grand Seiko kind of guy.
It wouldnt matter if they had been either.
I think his point is that Seiko is an unassuming brand that puts out relatively good bang per buck. It's a Honda Civic with a GTR engine.
pilotstyle123 As much as i like seiko god damn i hate their fans. It‘s the same cancerous community as nissan gtr fanboys. I don‘t get why japanese stuff attracts so many insuffrable people
Well 80% of GS models are indeed indigestible. But that doesn’t mean they’re a shitty watches.
omnipotentum You think the Snowflake is ugly? Snowflake looks better than half of Rolex's gaudy disasters.
honestly, if you're considering the mb @ 35k, is the pp- even at a little more than double the cost- that unrealistic a proposition? if you're able to afford 35k watches- and while it seems a huge jump-, is 70k really that unrealistic? sorry, but the mb makes no sense to me- i'd much rather hold off a little longer and get the pp. that said, i'd take a 1518 chrono over either.
Did you mean the A. Lange and Sohne _1815_ ? If so, I agree
Epic Taco Dude yes, the ALS 1815 chrono- superior to both of these (and countless others).
You can pick one up currently on Chrono24 for £16k, a steal!
id just go a lange for that money, well done mb though deff step up
Hell I'd be saving for the Blancpain Tourbillon featured in their other video 😂
Bought the exquisite Montblanc Bohème Day & Night for my wife’s 40th and she loves it. It also happens to be a real eye turner. Thank you Watchfinder for the insight. Another excellent and enlightening show. Now I need to learn more about Minerva. Looking forward to the next.
God this channel is so consistently amazing. I love shopping off the beaten path, but I probably wouldn't ever go so far as Montblanc. I think Jaeger is a good middle ground for the watch-informed.
Ryan E. But Jaeger is not off the beaten path...
It's definitely not underground by any means, but I'd say a majority of people who aren't into watches haven't heard of Jaeger.
These guys are churning out ridiculously high-quality content like it's just another Tuesday for them. Pure madness. Never stop.
Favorite channel. I bougth my first high end watch after watching all these. A 68 Omega Constellation white gold bezel! You should talk about Omega's Constellation heritage!
Its amazing to see the amount of content that you guys are pushing out, with the even greater quality. Please do keep the videos coming!
Loved the references to high-end audio a very apt parallel, I used to work in the high-end audio industry and love both watches and audio. well done.
By far, this is the best watch channel 👏👏👏 keep up the great work.
Lovely commentary. Enjoyed it immensely. Thank you
I just love your videos, great cadence, interesting topic choices, and an opinion that both reflects and teaches the enthusiast. Thank you for existing.
I love learning from your channel, well done. Thank you.
Thank you for watching!
Wow. Man your videos are just beyond amazing. Such well done. Thank you for making them.
I want this guy to read me a bead time story, his voice is like melatonin!!!!
A very high standard of story telling, literally glued me to the tube. Thank you
Love your videos! can't wait to watch more!
I would like to see once a video about Breitling Navitimer and your opinion of course.
You guys are hands down the best watch channel on TH-cam. Kudos. And every video is a perfection. Keep up the good work.
What's the pen at the back?
TRULY AN EYECATCHER
Japanese fountain pen
Not a Mont Blanc lol
Looks like a Parker
Looks like a cross townsend for me
The secret has been out.
More importantly , did you get the job?
So did you get it then?! the job of course
I did not get the job! Devastating..... A good company although another opportunity came up and I got that which allows me to do far more part time watch restoration and servicing.
Massive fan of the channel! I’ve learnt so much! Could you do a video on how to use a tachymeter!
You make the best watch videos on You Tube. Listening to you is like watching a fine watch tick!
minerva finish looks amazing
Mont blanc makes a wonderful watch. Honestly, put one on and feel it. I’ve never felt a Patek but the mont blanc feel special. I am not in a position to be able to afford it either but I respect the Mont Blanc for being accessible
What a delightful review. I don’t know that much about watches and already want this Montblanc.
Magister Ludi Minerva 13-20 movement is onde of the best and most beautifull ever made.
@Magister Ludi why shouldn't't they put it in a MontBlanc. It offers the same valve without much depreciation compared to some others on it's price league. I dare say it is better than ant Rolex.
I love your narrative and delivery, truly excellent. Reminds me of a young Allan wicker.
Ridiculously delicious story telling. The watches are amazing too. I really love the expensive vs. 'cheap' takes.
As I was watching this video my son said, "dad that sounds like a younger David Attenborough" (spelling?). Exceptional watches, exceptional presentation.
I love the Minerva, quite the right little upstart in the room, however that PP looks incredible.
Holy shit, when he said Minerva I just got so taken aback, I had forgotten all about it. What a twist.
Have to give a hand to Minerva, that movement looks beautiful.
so if possible what is the price of this MB?
The comparison to Morgan is a wonderful one.
Fantastic analysis and commentary.
Awesome video! I have learned so much. Thank you.
100% agree;
Montblanc is in the race at less than half the price; Bravo!
Great review as always!
Love the channel. Extremely interesting and well produced video as always. Would love a video on a Breitling soon. :)
Great video as usual. Thank you.
I love your HiFi reference lol. Great video!
All your videos are superb but this one stands out even among the others.
Wanna buy one but couldn’t find any in Montblanc shop
Please cover something from Chopard, preferably L.U.C. sometime soon. Thanks!
Macro shots were amazing as expected but the comedy was a pleasant surprise
I'm so glad that I have so many old Watchfinder videos to get to while waiting for the next new one. But alas I will eventually catch up.
Well finished video! Admirations!
Thank you
Beautiful watches! Both of them!
And a sympathetic narrative!
Remarkable video!!!
Is Naim hi-fi audio gear sold in the USA?
RandomUser20130101
yes
Great video (as always)!
Im just sorry MB doesn't have right length of the hands to fill the dial. Braitling and IWC have this problem from time to time too. I hope they bring back in future Minervas wide pusher movements. I love those
Great video and in depth review.
Excellent viewing!
Great matchup. More improtanty you touched on the poignant points. More videos like this please! Thank you!
I love how the guys at Watchfinder have some questions for Patek, love it!
Oh thank god, I needed this video.
Is the Minerva movement in all of Montblanc automatic and manual watches?
No, just the high-end ones
you are just awsome. do you have any plan for the making a video of tag heuer? formula 1 or somthing
Really enjoyed this. Thanks guys! As a Grand Seiko owner, the Montblanc is in consideration...
Please review the Perpetual Calendar from Ochs Und Junior and the amazingly esoteric mind of Ludwig Oechslin. Very similar to, in spirit, the watches from H. Moser & Cie... not well known, but incredible in their own right.
Great video! Thanks
I admire both, but can afford neither. A Speedmaster Professional however is in the realm of possibility. Can you please review other mechanical chronographs with display caseback in the same price range?
Magister Ludi thanks for the suggestion, what makes it a better watch?
Excellent review! I don’t own Montblanc however I do Simaudio MOON.
They make a nice amplifier
Another amazing video!
Another great video. 👍🏼
excelentes videos me gustan mucho los relojes, te felicito
This channel is as much a work of art as those timepieces. Quite a journey that was.
Where the watch at
Yet another great video.
Watching watchfinder channel is the best way to meditate.
please review the new 40mm Omega railmaster
What a great video! Searching for a Montblanc right away..
A marketing genius wouldn’t need this detailed history lesson. Great camera work and just that.
Great video, I love the comparison.
This channel is so awesome.
Very well done video. Where engineering meets artistry. Both watches are lovely and amazing examples of the very best craftsmanship. Too bad the prices are so absurd.
Great journalism, thanks
Mont Blanc's always look pretty good in the shop.
MontBlanc has been doing things right since the last few years. I have high hopes for them. Thanks for the video!
Minerva, the brand that was mentioned in a watch dedicated episode of the anime Gallery Fake. Thanks for letting us know it was revived!
Great video. Could you review the worlds cheapest automatic world time. I speak of the Ball Engineer WT. A dive watch, with day and date as wel, as a world time function. All for less than £2000.
Whats the name of the music?
What a heck of a review! 🙌🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Excellent review. Beautiful Mont Blanc "Minerva" Pulsometer.
can you review a IW502308?
or an IWC Portugieser
