It is a pleasure to learn that you got excited because we have to dive back in that sound for making things different. I noted that many bands sound similar and that gets, copiously, machine like, or like a bunch of people that don't rely on their ears. They all go for what is written, what is told. And that divinity whispers tricks, but they are probably are not loud enough. So they must have dropped telling the ideas long ago. The 1980 and 1990 had creative methods of using sound and morphing it to something creative like what Testament did using hours in a Megaforce studio. Well, guess what? Something else was in for best and it is surely divinity again.

This "in the room" series are G R E A T, Ola!!! It's so good and rich to listen to the many possibilities of sound capturing! So many "flavors" of heavy sounds!!! That's awesome, man! Very well done and keep up the awesome work!!! Cheers from Brazil!!

Love this series. As opposed to all other channels that run everything though program after program and not knowing the sound straight from the amp.

I had a Triple Rec from that era and just didn't get along with it. Sold it and picked up a Reborn and love it. Still, I watch demos like this one and wonder what I was doing wrong with my old Recto. Oh well, you make it sound kick ass!

I think just the 58 and the Lewitt mics are all you need and call it a day. Of course with all mics together it sounded great but just the lewitt and the 58 is all you need. Man that Mesa sounds brutal!!

Gotta love his expression at 3:35; he was digging the tone big time.
I'm more of a Marshall guy; but the Dual Rectifier's excellent tone can never be denied.

I absolutely love this idea. I’ve been playing guitar for a long time but I’m just now starting to learn to record, and things like this really help to learn the differences between what an amp sounds like in a room vs micd up. thanks ola
