If Lars and Kirk both took lessons for a while to expand their palate, it would open a lot of doors. Also, it seems like, based on his solo record, that if Kirk would be allowed to write more that it would be a large bonus for the band.
Kirk doesn't need lessons he needs to practice a bit and more than anything WRITE his solos and not improvise them, or at least not all of the parts. He's written amazing solos in the past from melodic stuff in power ballads or the Black Album to pretty technical stuff in RTL/MOP and above all AJFA. He's capable of way more than what he shows us there, he just got lazy or lost inspiration. A shame because he can be way more technical than people realize and also write very memorable melodies when he puts his mind or heart at it. Never liked Lars' playing but he got even worse.
Kirk needs to write solos with James, not Greg and Lars. He’s recent solos are just parts of old solos he did put together. It’s blatantly obvious for any Metallica fan with a decent ear. Boring as hell.
@@mssphotography Also, it's the quality of songs. The songs of the past allowed for a more serious and melodic take on things. This new song wouldn't pair well with constructed Kirk solos of the past and so you get a "high energy" wankery that is instantly forgettable.

Great ear Ola!! That’s how I learned to play as well. No tab books till years after. Nailed it! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
It’s actually a good song. Very old school Metallica. Hetfield has some great guitars. Great video. 🤘🏻
That song surprised me in a very good way. I loved the main riff. IT'S very *N.W.O.B.H.M* !!!
Killer song! Fun to play! People that don't like it want to be an Astronaut like Mustaine! 👨🚀 Or, if Megadeth or any other Thrash band released this song, people would be sucking it off like no tomorrow.
No shit. I don't see the overall feel and style being much different than megadeths new shit which is also good. I just get tired of the mustaine love affair. He does no wrong Metallica does no right. That is how they act lol
@@midnight347 Yep. People are hypocrites.
Ola said he heard a Motorhead influence, and I would agree.
Cool song.
0:19 I've been waiting for this day..... No I haven't been waiting for this day... 😂😂😂
Can't wait to buy this new CD. This song kicks it . I definitely love it. Excellent job guys. Stay safe and well and keep Rocking Ola. Signed John (Zepbass) Gregory, from Munster Indiana, U.S.A.
If Lars and Kirk both took lessons for a while to expand their palate, it would open a lot of doors. Also, it seems like, based on his solo record, that if Kirk would be allowed to write more that it would be a large bonus for the band.
It would certainly help if Kirk doesn't lose the demo tapes with stuff he'd already written for Metallica :)
Kirk just doesn’t want to anymore, if you check his solos on the black album and on AJFA those are some tasty solos. He just doesn’t care anymore hehe
@@mssphotography Also, it's the quality of songs. The songs of the past allowed for a more serious and melodic take on things. This new song wouldn't pair well with constructed Kirk solos of the past and so you get a "high energy" wankery that is instantly forgettable.
I personally really like the new Metallica single. It feels new and fresh yet retains that core Metallica sound. I feel like they're reinventing themselves a little. I dig it. I really really dig it. I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of the album when it's released next year.
That guitar is sick! Here's hoping the entire new album is like this...
Dont you think it sounds boring to say the least? The production makes it sound like extremely thin.
@@Barbro247 Did Erik not just tell you he likes it... Stop being a negative nancy
@@Barbro247 come on, kill 'em all and ride the lightning sounds way thinner than lux aeterna
What a coincidence. This is also how I've spent my morning.
I'm glad to see you are also doing the 7p5p0 on the G string. Every tab I found had me doing it different so I just decided to do it this way instead.
Dude I can't believe how fast you learn that song and you knocked it out of the park you are phenomenal you rock you the man from the fish man take it easy brother
Kill ‘em All tunes aren’t all that hard either.
Your memorizing ability is mindblowing man! 👊
Their new song is so good. I'm also sick of all the fans expecting everything to sound like master of puppets.
Many fans are stuck in the past.
Those fans should time travel back to the 80s and stick there. Sick of them too.
this was so fun to watch!! moving forward im always learning along with you
Good job, also the Metallica track has awesome tone
This was awesome!
Hello from New England...I'm hella stoked about the tour Metallic and Pantera are doing but I'm not overly excited about this song...I do like the drum sound especially the kicks but overall I'll wait for the next single..And I'm going to the show in Massachusetts next July..I live in Connecticut and it's not that far to see this lineup...Once in a life time show..I'm super interested in seeing how Charlie pulls this off.. He said if you close your eyes it'll sound like Big Vinn...Is he using Vinns drums or samples or something...Can't wait...Kirk is totally wanking it on that whammy section lol.. Total Kirk...🤘✌️🤘😂
Nailed it Ola 🔥🤘🏻👊🏻😀
Dude, the red Solar guitar sound ridiculously good!!
And the LTD...JESUS!!!
Great vid! Your playing is always next level!
Nice playing! It's great that Metallica put out a super accessible track like this. Something fiery but basic so any level player can learn and play it. The kind of thing that keeps metal alive and well!
Bloody hell, you are James and Kirk all in one. Respect!
Ola the king 👑
Hey Ola, thanks man!!! As you learn the song, I could follow you and learn it too!
Du har verkligen talang asså!! Riktigt nice, lät perfekt👌🏻😍
I am most happy about people liking what they are doing.
