Fun fact, the only limiting factor for a irl light saber is energy, so if you could make a super battery to power it you could make a lightsaber. Hackmith on youtube did it, but it had to be a proto. Pargaps youve seen it if you are a star wars fan.
In his defense... did anyone REALLY care when Padme died? He was probably just doing that for the emperor's benefit. Seriously, Anakin was probably tired of all her constant whining.
“Get his battery.” “That seems kind of trivial....” “And while you’re at it, close down Bea Arthur’s Cantina and give Han Solo a name. WE ARE THE EMPIRE!”
In the first ad, it was in the upper leg, then they moved it to the back, and then they later moved it back to the upper leg so that the battery itself could be more visible in the commercials.
I was a sophomore in high school when this was out. Commercials were so much cooler then, no stupid Flo or medications with pages of side effects. To this day, I still say light sabers run on batteries.
Making fun and enjoyable commercials like in the old days is considered weird by people today sadly. Japan is the only place that still makes fun commercials like this.
My childhood commercial right here, this bring back great memories. Star Wars way back before the re release, the prequels, selling it over to Disney, and the new sequel trilogies.
Back when I first saw this when I was a kid, I thought it was hilarious that they made the saber look like it ran on D-cell batteries. Imagine my surprise years later when I discovered for myself that the original prop was made from a vintage camera flash, which did indeed run on D-cell batteries in it's original state! So cool!
The Energizer bunny plays a marching bass drum, probably bass 5. The on-field portion of a marching band's percussion section(snares, quad/quint/sextet tenors, basses, and sometimes cymbals) is called the battery.
An undoubted masterpiece of concept and execution. Whenever I feel the saga has become too stuffy in its epicness, this ad rejuvenates things for me. 😁
+Candhfan621 Agreed. If George had just dubbed in that scream instead of a new recording of such by James Earl Jones in place of that whiny-Skywalker "NOOOOOOOOOOOO", I would have been happy.
Actually he did this was how he was actually screaming however his suit wasn't up to date like his future ones so it couldn't translate his groan and mouth pattern so it translated it as nooooooooo and thats why it came out its actuallt sad really cause palatine knew that suit was outdated and was obsolete but it was a punishment for Anakin losing to obi wan and for his rage to make him stay on the darkside.
The last Star Wars movie to come out before this commercial was 1983. 11 years. I looked it up on wikipedia and the first x-wing game came out around the time of this commercial. Interesting how much merchandise and story continuation outside of the movies there was for such a long period of time.
The Mandela effect brought me here. The video shows the battery on the bunny's back like we all remember. All other videos show the battery in the bunny's legs.
I love how he did trouble shooting on his saber like you would a common flashlight! LMAO! When it flickered as he banged it on the controls I nearly died laughing. The untwisting of the cap was the best though! hahahaha!
Such a classic! It's obvious that they used a lot of recycled audio, with perhaps a new line done by Clive Revill (or very clever editing)... but that roar at 0:23. Did James Earl Jones just come in to do that line or was that unused dialogue in a Star Wars movie somewhere?
So this WAS a real commercial! All these years, I thought that maybe this had been a fragment of my imagination! Actually, I think this commercial is what got me interested in Star Wars in the first place.
It would've been funnier if Darth Vader shouted "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!", but I'm well aware this commercial came out long before Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
This was the height of the battery wars. Anyone else notice how much "Supervolt" batteries look like Duracell? Duracell did the same thing with "the Puttermans" and the obvious Energizer-look alike batteries.
LOLYES! I knew that lightsaber runs out a juice! I was expecting it. I surely remember that commercial...it's been a long time since I've seen it. This has to be one of the best childhood memories I've had.
I love how how people complain about Disney 'exploiting' Star Wars - while Lucas LITERALLY sold vader so he could fight the fucking energizer bunny lol
Vaders yell at the end, sounds way better than that NOOOOOOOO! at the end of ROTS, hint hint . Love the way the carbon freezing chamber set was recreated for this commercial, great commercial.
We must protect this video at all costs. It’s shows the real location of the battery - in the bunny’s back

That’s all I came here to see 😂😂
I knew I wasn’t trippin 😂
Should’ve kept sticking to kyber crystals.
@@angelm3233 nah fr
Darth Vader: I see you have constructed a new lightsaber.
Luke: Yes. This one runs on AAs.
Fun fact, the only limiting factor for a irl light saber is energy, so if you could make a super battery to power it you could make a lightsaber. Hackmith on youtube did it, but it had to be a proto. Pargaps youve seen it if you are a star wars fan.
Ya, I believe I’ve seen that.
RAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!!!
nowadays, all modern sabers are powered by an 18650 or similar size Li-ion battery
@@BeanMannlmao the only limiting factor? Try again, bro.
Vaders reaction to running out of battery is stronger than when Padme died.
Jon Noto sad but true
Jon Noto that has to BURN so much. 😂😂😂😂
laz101 Burned as much as the lavas of Mustafar.
Someone should totally dub that with this.
In his defense... did anyone REALLY care when Padme died? He was probably just doing that for the emperor's benefit. Seriously, Anakin was probably tired of all her constant whining.
"It seems in your anger, you bought the wrong brand"
"I...I couldn't have...The package said longer lasting! IT SAID SO!"
*NNNOOOOOOOOOOOooooo!!!*
“Get his battery.”
“That seems kind of trivial....”
“And while you’re at it, close down Bea Arthur’s Cantina and give Han Solo a name. WE ARE THE EMPIRE!”
So the Nostalgia Critic sendet you as well.
@@darthsombra2102 indeed, he sendeth me here as well, post haste
Jay Arby Hey, that’s pretty original and not at all copied from another person.
haha
While you were learning to SPELL YOUR NAME!!! I WAS LEARNING TO PERICULUA......(BOOOOOMMM)
RIP James Earl Jones. Your voice will forever live on in the Star Wars mythos!
I still remembered this commercial after all these years. That's how good it is. Love it.
So I’m not crazy the battery is on the energizer rabbits back.. honestly doesn’t even make sense for it to be on a leg 😅
I was five years old this was out. What's high school like in 1994?
why Flo is stupid?
They do, usually either 14500 or 18650 Lithium Ion rechargables~
High school in 1994 was pretty cool; we got introduced to this new-fangled thing called the Internet...
Making fun and enjoyable commercials like in the old days is considered weird by people today sadly.
Japan is the only place that still makes fun commercials like this.
This is even better than the entire trilogy made by Disney
OMG ITS RUSTY
It’s from Disney
I don't know if it's better, but of course this spot is more faithful to the saga than the sequels😂
The force is strong with this ad.
my favorite commercial ever
That kick at the end always gets me.
This commercial was so out of it's time, they could re-air this right now and it still would be the funniest commercial.
I saw this back when it originally aired when I was about 4-5 years old... WAY before I even got into Star Wars, but even then I know how epic it was.
Yeah I saw this commercial including the one with King Kong a long time ago, but was that really James Earl Jones screaming or was it someone else?
What the Special Editions could have been.
They are on his back!
Had to come back to this! I haven't seen this since I was 9, back in 1994
Hard to believe this commercial turns 30 this yr.
Dramatically great with the Energizer Bunny.
That was a really clever commercial.
My childhood commercial right here, this bring back great memories. Star Wars way back before the re release, the prequels, selling it over to Disney, and the new sequel trilogies.
Happy National Battery Day 🔋 from Energizer 🐰🥁🔋
Man, I loved watching this video as a kid. Good thing I remembered that it exists.
So cool!

Bone-Tone Lord ...wow....
An undoubted masterpiece of concept and execution. Whenever I feel the saga has become too stuffy in its epicness, this ad rejuvenates things for me. 😁
One of the most funniest commercial EVER x)
Ah, memories.
Energizer: "Hey Disney! Can I get access to the rights to star wars and revive this one?"
Disney: "Sure can!" * buys out Energizer *
0:23 In the Special edition of this commercial, Darth Vader would be shouting "NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!"
If only Vader screamed like that in the prequels.
Also, Dillon Britt is full of $#@?
Red Pikmin I agree. This Vader scream is much much better.
+Candhfan621 Yeah, that roar would have been so less narmy than "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
+Candhfan621 Agreed. If George had just dubbed in that scream instead of a new recording of such by James Earl Jones in place of that whiny-Skywalker "NOOOOOOOOOOOO", I would have been happy.

I saw that commercial when I watched "Return of the Jedi" on USA Network, which was recorded on a videotape in December of 1994.
The last Star Wars movie to come out before this commercial was 1983. 11 years. I looked it up on wikipedia and the first x-wing game came out around the time of this commercial. Interesting how much merchandise and story continuation outside of the movies there was for such a long period of time.
I remember this ad on TV many times a long time ago
The Mandela effect brought me here. The video shows the battery on the bunny's back like we all remember. All other videos show the battery in the bunny's legs.
Awww it brings back memories
I love how he did trouble shooting on his saber like you would a common flashlight! LMAO! When it flickered as he banged it on the controls I nearly died laughing. The untwisting of the cap was the best though! hahahaha!
How Aboute Darth vader should say Noooooooooooooo!!!!
I remember seeing this commercial on KCOP followed by the local news announcing that they will be discussing the upcoming prequel trilogy.
0:22 - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
0:22 noooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Do a jarsh finx video
Dr. Shaym fancy seeing you here
i remember this when i was a kid! man this was the best commercial ever!
That rabbit made a fool out of Darth Vader.
Who hasn't?
Honestly I really hate that dumb rabbit like can someone legitimately kill that thing.
did you see what happened to the wicked witch? Glad Emerald City is up to modern fire codes ;)
XDDD that was absolutely brilliant. He does a better "NOOOOO!" in this then Revenge of the Sith.
You’re here because of TikTok
Awesome Video!!
Oh my gosh, I remember this commercial when I was young!
Such a classic! It's obvious that they used a lot of recycled audio, with perhaps a new line done by Clive Revill (or very clever editing)... but that roar at 0:23. Did James Earl Jones just come in to do that line or was that unused dialogue in a Star Wars movie somewhere?
I read it was JEJ. Thats probably the most furious we'd heard Vader till EP III
so funny. I love the way he acts!!
I remember this!
I'd forgotten all about this ad!
Awesome!
Great commercial
I thought of this after the most recent Acolyte episode.
This is better.
So this WAS a real commercial! All these years, I thought that maybe this had been a fragment of my imagination!
Actually, I think this commercial is what got me interested in Star Wars in the first place.
The original emperor not the digital remaster 🔥🔥
Battery on the bunny's back. Not it's leg. Hello from the prime universe 💯
Wish THIS scream was used in Ep. 3!
(0:23) Way better than Darth Vader's "Nooooooooo!".
I think this was a super bowl commercial back in 1995 I still remember this classic commercial
On those days when you feel like you need batteries, but instead they're running out of 'juice...
Quick screen record this before it disappears
0:23 was that James Earl Jones?
Yes.
I knew lightsabers worked with batteries!!!
0:23 I wish there was an edit of revenge of the sith with this yell instead of the "nnnooooo"
Now this is some good Star, wars, storytelling. Disney, take notes.😂
This commercial > Acolyte.
Actress Marjorie Eaton is the Emperor, actor Tom Bewley was in the Darth Vader suit, and Grant Imahara was the puppeteer for the bunny.
It would've been funnier if Darth Vader shouted "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!", but I'm well aware this commercial came out long before Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
I was five or six when I saw this commercial. Still remember it even today!
lol........
The bunny is so cuddly and cute!
Love Vader's screams xD
That was actually hilarious. Vader was throwing a fit at the end. lol you just don't see vader do that kind of stuff xD
A big "NOOOO!!" would have fit here, while the angry growl would have been perfect for RoTS.
oh man I used to love this commercial
This commercial is better than the past three Star Wars movies.
HAHA! I remember this commercial from back in the day, had forgotten it.
Wow! Never seen this before! Awesome!!! Good thing I use Energizer Lithium on my Lightsaber. I love the Video! Thank you!
Yeah, Kylo Ren is really his grandson.
DARTH VADER NEEDS TO BUY ENERGIZER FAST
I knew I remembered a battery on its back at one point. I was about to lose my mind 😂
The bunny had the high ground!!
Battery is its back!
I never saw this one till now!
I remember seeing this commercial
This proves the Mandela effect is real. The alternative time line has the battery on the bunnies leg.
Vader, "Wait! I can still grab your battery with a telekinesis!"
The Bunny rocks while Darth Vader is still on Santa's naughty list ❤
It’s only a matter of time ‘till the Energizer Bunny trolls ever character in existence that doesn’t use his batteries.
This was the height of the battery wars. Anyone else notice how much "Supervolt" batteries look like Duracell? Duracell did the same thing with "the Puttermans" and the obvious Energizer-look alike batteries.
Oh man, this commercial Cracked me up!
Damn, Vader's got One hell of a kick.
Someone needs to go back and recut Episode III with this yell
LOLYES! I knew that lightsaber runs out a juice! I was expecting it. I surely remember that commercial...it's been a long time since I've seen it. This has to be one of the best childhood memories I've had.
Oh, man...Someone's gonna be "Feeling the Force" real soon!
LOL so funny. I love the way he acts!!
Energizer is the official sponsor of Star Tours at Disneyland and Walt Disney World and Star Wars is from 20th Century-Fox and Lucasfilm Ltd.
Of course it is. Follow the white rabbit
It keeps going and going and going and going
Taking ALL OF OUR ENERGY
0:22 Should've use Energizer, huh, Darth Vader?
*hugs Vader then gives him some Energizer Batteries* cheer up Vader, it’ll be okay 😊
Mandela effect / multiverse is real. Energizer bunny has batter on its back instead of leg
Did you hear about the Energizer Bunny trial?
Caruso: I heard he was...
*sunglasses*
Charged with battery.
YEEEEEEEEAAAAAAH
