It was awful for the horse but the child probably didn’t let go because she was scared of getting hurt and didn’t know how to fall so she wouldn’t get hurt. Still doesn’t mean she should have, just means sometimes people don’t think about how it may hurt the horse because they are scared of getting hurt and they don’t actually understand that they are hurting the horse.

This rider had no balance, and should not have been attempting a jump when they’re still at such a basic level. Most people slide down the horses neck, hold onto the reins and in worst case the horse could have fell. She has such an amazing trainer and she is blessed!❤
Half of these horses just needed to get outside and run, not have to jump or do dressage, just be a horse. Sometimes, taking a break from the arena for a fun day is really helpful!!

0:38 you your horse is doing that DO NOT tug on the mouth like that to stop them or regain your balance, instead rein to one side and back them up with your heels to stop them from rearing or bucking out. This has been proved and agreed apon as a great technique by many equestrians and it has saved probably many horses from being hurt and people.

Honestly, ypu should all work on you balance and basic riding before attempting to jump. Most of these accidents could have been avoided, if the riders had a better seat and reacted quicker🤷♀️
i do horse riding and your right but more than half of the vids are hard to sit and when your horse spins or goes the other way when ur on its neck its really hard to sit because they spin or chuck you off
I ride aswell all these things even as a professional people easily fall from no matter how good of a seat u have u still have a 50 50% chance of falling

But with a little more training most of these falls can be avoided. The girls just need to sit back more, close their knees a little and that should give them a better chance at staying on. that equestrian, have you ever ridden a horse and been thrown off/over the saddle? its not like any of us wouldnt hold onto the horse to stop us being trampled given the chance now is it.
I am shocked how many of these riders have no basics in handling and moving a horse, one rein stop? Bending ? Circle to a stop? I would never get on a horse unless I can learn theses so when something does goes south you have these exercises to regain control & focus again and some of these riders have no trust and connection with the horse, doing so will keep you safer

I do western and I can already tell that’s not really avoidable.. horses have a mind of their own, you can’t control them all of the time..! One time i was teaching my horse too rear but i slipped and he got scared and turned around and tried to kick my but i literally ran out of the way and my brother was just laughing i am so glad i did not get kicked

I wouldn't say that it's too big. I think it would have been easier if it was only one stride between the 2 jumps to set it up well. Also the girl didn't put enough momentum in pushing the horse on to give the horse more confidence to do the jump. She needed to sit back and keep the horse in the movement to get the horse over. That's what I see from a brief perspective. And you know Some horses also aren't as forward going and need you to keep the control over the situation more together in moments like this when you're doing large jumps.

Actually it is very common to lunge horses during lessons if there is enough room and from what I can tell the horse was probably at the other end of the arena and decided it want to go see the horse being lunged and it’s very hard to control a horse once it has committed to doing something so the rider was trying to steer away but ended up causing confusion in the horse so they ended up colliding. This isn’t the riders fault it’s just horses like to be with their friends 😊
