I hated this movie which was disappointing because I loved the first one. The movie stopped dead in its tracks when the family leaves, and that didn't solve anything and left the old tribe to die. Not to mention the psychopath teenagers of the water tribe that tried to kill the boy. This movie was a waste of potential, sacrificed for water cgi.
Her wailing was so annoying tfym, I hate everytime she makes those grating sounds. Its like an animal screeching and it makes me want to see her get put down already lol
@@asarhh They filmed the second and third movie at the same time. Now it is just a matter of post-production, which is a lot, especially for a nearly all CGI movie. The movie release date is set for December 20, 2024.
I went to the cinema and watched this in 3D. I was sitting with my mouth open the entire time. Fun fact : They made a new underwater camera just for the movie 🎬
Yeah that's why it took so long for this movie to come out, because they didn't had the technology back then. They literally had to invent new cameras to do this all underwater.
Traditionally, performance capture is done with Infrared tracking, but water is really good at blocking IR light. So they had to develop all new tracking tech that used ultraviolet light instead. They then had the problem that even tiny bubbles can break up the tracking too much, so the whole crew had to learn how to "free dive", not just the cast, so they didn't need to use Scuba gear that would have caused too many bubbles.
I was so sad that Neyteyam died because he was constantly pressured to be the big brother and to be responsible for his siblings and always tried to make hia dad proud and he never got to prove to his dad that he could . He died protecting his brother meaning he never stopped looking out for his younger siblings but its still so sad that he never got to be more. I understand that they needed a harsh reality to make them realize that they cant keep running but still😢
Same. That whole sequence just shattered my heart. He died protecting his brother and I also feel so bad for lo'ak because he's the ine that made neteyam go back for spider. I've cried each time uve rewatched it
Neyteyam was rly a relatable character for me. Father died when i was 6 so had always had to be the semi dad and take care and responsability… rip Neyteyam. Can’t wait for Avatar 3!
The whole Spider and Quarritch situation actually makes sense when you realize that they actually spent months together between when he was captured and when they found the Sullys. It was cut from the film for time
It also makes sense somewhat throughout because Spider was threatened with going back to the lab to undergo the torture/memory acquisition thing again. It was an ultimatum to go with the Avatars or be subjected to that again.
It wasn't so much cut as it wasn't outiright stated. We can see how much time goes by, by how much Ronal's pregnancy advances from the first time we see her to the last battle
Loved watching your reaction as always! I thought the movie was absolutely incredible and I was shouting at the screen at the all the things you guys did lol I actually think that I enjoyed this one even more than the first which is saying something because the first one is incredible! I wish i had seen it in the cinema too, it would have been amazing!
Another detail I like with the aquatic Na'vi's biology is that their chests are bigger than the land Na'vi's, which makes sense because they have better lung capacity and how they can hold their breaths longer.
1:21:53 - I don't think there is a father to Kiri, I felt like she might be a reincarnation. When they tried to transfer Grace into her Avatar, she didn't make it. But she had to go through Eywa, and Mo’at (the spiritual leader) said "she's with Eywa now". And I kinda wanna believe, that Eywa wanted Grace to live and just birthed her all new. That is why she has such a special connection to the whole environment. She is Eywa's child. That's at least my interpretation 😄
Considering that she was also the only one to have a direct conversation with a deceased person rather than reliving a memory... Remember that she never got to meet her mother, the others were put back into a fond memory of the son when he was younger. The scene of Kiri talking with Grace is something that never happened. The reincarnation thing would be interesting, especially given that things went normally until she directly asked who her father was. That's when it fell apart on itself and she began seizing. Also it seems to fit with the "All energy is only borrowed" belief. During that attempt at the transfer, Grace's energy could have been given back to a new life
Also my thoughts on Spider "coming around to his old man": I saw him as, yes, growing closer to Quaritch with time, but he certainly had the goal of teaching his father the ways of the Na'vi, maybe hoping beyond hope that it would change the man he was. Also, he never was truly accepted by the Sullys. Jake was fine with him, Neytiri didn't acknowledge his existence, but the kids all were like fellow siblings to him, especially Kiri (fellow outcast/freak). So without having any real parental figures to look up to and be accepted by, seeing Quaritch actually listen to him and learn from him probably meant A LOT. But of course, he is just as torn on the matter as Quaritch is. He saves him, but then dips, just as Quaritch *finally* acknowledges that Spider is his SON.
I think it also is a matter of honor. As crappy as he was, Q likely saved Spider's sanity and probably his life by taking him out of the lab. Spider knows this and although he despises Q's brutally to the Na'vi and ultimately chooses the Sullys, he may have felt the need to repay that debt.
And they spent a while together. If you look at the chieftess you can see she has a flat belly but, then you look on later (the seizure scene) you can see she is later in her pregnancy.
@@pearldoug4277 Yeah, several months have passed for sure. So this connection didn't just happen overnight. I do appreciate that the movie has a lot of "show don't tell" moments, and that includes using Ronal's pregnancy to indicate the passage of time.
Honestly I feel so bad for Spider. He had no place at all among pretty much all the people he shared the planet with. It felt like the all kind of treated him like shit except for Kiri. I understand everything he went through, and I even understand the inner conflict he would be feeling, to save his father(ish) from death, but not follow him
Oak went as silent as I did with less tears... that scene with his son at the end messes me up more than almost any scene in film or TV. Beautiful film making
It's so easy to forget during the Na'vi only scenes just how big they are until you see them grab a human by the head with a hand that's bigger that the entire human head or shoot them with an arrow that's the size of an entire human body (and that's not even considering the extremely potent poison they coat the arrows in...)
I understand Spider, poor guy never belonged anywhere. The scientists are taking care of him, but none of them appeared as a parental figure. And the Na'vi, who treated him like family are still very different from him and many see him as an alien. So to feel close enough to this dad clone to safe his life seems understandable.
As someone who has lost their older brother a few years ago and at the start of this year being there with my father passed on our farm, this movie hit me and my mother HARD in theaters. We went with 2 family friends and we were up from our seats, rocking and balling in knowing the loss in this movie but also happiness seeing that Neteyam still has connections with Jake and Neytiri through Ewya. This series has a special place in my heart story wise and in its beauty.
This was simply incredible at the cinema. Truly a movie made for the big screen. This wasn't just a movie like most are, it was an experience. The visuals, sounds, music, the whole vibe etc was just a total experience like nothing else and i feel so lucky i got to watch it at the cinema. It really is crazy that you don't even notice mostly that it is cgi, especially with the underwater stuff. This Avatar series could really become one of the great movie series of all time imo that is talked about for years. Like a lord of the rings, harry potter etc level of impact
You guys discussed at the beginning the differences between the metkayina (water people) and the omatikaya (forest people). I don't know if you guys noticed it, but a cool detail Cameron added was the water people's 2nd eyelids to protect their eyes underwater. If you rewind back and slow a scene down, you can see it good. Especially in the scene where the Sully's first show up and Reya (chiefs daughter) comes out of the water. The more you go back the more detail you notice, its awesome.
I love this sequel with all my heart it’s visually stunning, classic story of family, war, inner conflicts, different people trying to fit in with discrimination, prejudice, and living up to expectations. Jake has grown becoming more mature, strategic, and a caring father he may be a bit strict and gruff but cares deeply. Neytirei still badass as ever and being a mother bear just adds to her character even more. The kids were all great in their roles and how they played off each other. Neteyam being the responsible big brother, loak being the rebellious teen that is the embodiment of what his father was back years ago, kiri the gifted yet witty and tomboyish child who helps however she can, tuktirey being the adorable youngest always staying by the others being supportive and affectionate, and spider being the outcast who just wants to be accepted and loved by the sully family who was conflicted with his human side. Quaritch still being evil to some extent but definitely grew to care for his son showing he does have a heart. Neteyam dying was so heartbreaking to see and if you looked closely he was always in the background looking after his siblings showing how great of a character he is. So glad you guys enjoyed the movie you guys are great.😁👍😎🎥👏
The Kiri dad stuff we can actually take at face value. She was an immaculate conception, you talk about familiar stories and tropes, I think she is literally a christlike figure. Her "dad" is Eywa, an actual child of "God", immaculately concieved by Eywa, a virgin birth to get firsthand experience of the world and to perform miracles, and probably sacrifice herself to save everyone at the end. Especially as this is exactly what her mom was studying and her mom had a special connection to Eywa.
I love that you are so dedicated to the channel that you didn’t watch this in theaters and kept it for us! As much as it is exciting watching you guys experience the film for the first time, I do wish you experienced this in 3D, because it was unlike anything. The moment they jump into the water, everything changes, the water itself had depth and the creatures are beautiful. It was hypnotizing. So I think it’ll be okay if you guys watch the next one in theaters. We want that for you! Because the film is meant to be watched like that. If this is still in theaters, definitely give it a try. 👍
@@KiRiTO72987the high frame rate in Dolby messed me up the first time, came out with a crazy headache. But it didn’t stop me from returning for a second time 😂😂 and surprisingly I didn’t get a headache the second time.
I was thinking the same thing. The guy with the Hogwarts scarf loved the movie but was so bummed the whole time that he wasn't watching it on a huge screen. I know this is a while later now, but I hope afterward he was able to search around and find a big screen still showing the movie. Even if it's not 3d, a movie of this scale still deserves to be seen on a giant screen in a pitch dark room with surround sound
Saw both the original Avatar and Way of Water in 3D in theaters! Was such an awe inspiring experience!!! I really loved how at the end, it was the kids who came through to save their parents. THEY were the ones who were really adapting to life in the sea; a little nod to the fact that kids are remarkably quick to adapt to change and embrace new things I think. I know Spider saving the Quaritch is a thing that a lot of people say was stupid, but I think it fits. I believe that Neytiri would have 100% killed Spider had Quaritch not stopped her. A life for a life
3:44 Oak: Imagine how long it's gonna take to set-up a permiter Ryan George, recording a pitch meeting: Actually it's gonna be super easy, barely an inconvenience
I think bringing the bad guy back (and establishing that clones in that way are possible) sets up sooo many interesting possibilities for the next movie(s)!
Not only that, but the way they established that the clone is not the same person as Quaritch makes him so much more likable because he's able to make his own choices, which, like you said, sets up a lot of possibilities!
@@Ultimaniacx4 Yes and no. He has the memories, but he makes choices that the human Quaritch would never do, like save his son's life, even though his son doesn't give him any benefits. The reason why he is able to do this is because he has different experiences from the human Quaritch. We base who we are off of our experiences, which is why Quaritch is bound to be a very interesting character later on.
@@Kingdom_Of_Dreams That's just elaborating on what I said, he's the same person up to a point. Also, you don't know if he wouldn't have saved his son in the original, he was never given that choice in that story. Remember, he had a real "marines take care of our own" mentality. He was willing to have Jake's legs restoration completely funded in return for his help in the mission. Think about it, the mind copy they put in his avatar knew who the boy was. That means they copied his mind some time after he was born, and they couldn't send the boy back to Earth because they couldn't put babies in cryo. All that means there wasn't much time between when they copied his mind and the man at the end of the first movie. It's impossible to know how different the short amount of time changed the original him up to that finale, and that means it's impossible to know if he wouldn't have made the same decision.
fun- ish fact: they had to set up help lines for people depressed to go back to the real world after watching the first movie, it was that visually stunning!
It was so funny when you said that it was like Titanic when actually Ronal is played by the one and only Kate Winslet 😁 James Cameron told her that she was going back to the water but in a different way.
When the first Avatar movie came out, I wanted to go see it so bad but everyone I knew was busy. I even offered to buy tickets and snacks but just couldn't get anyone to go so I decided to just go alone, and it was the best experience ever. saw it in 3D and snuck in burritos and beer. ever since then ill occasionally go out to dinner and a movie by myself. after waiting 13 years a bunch of friends were going to see the second one, I declined and went by myself the next night haha.
Me and my girlfriend loved it! Luckily we watched it in theater and it was breathtaking. We both think that this is actually a better movie than the first one but that completely depends on the person. The least you can say is that this movie didn't disappoint one bit! TBH I thought this movie would be really bad, first one was so good that it would be impossible to live up the expectations but hey... I've never been this wrong in my life.
I couldn't really connect with this movie but the scene where they're killing the tulkun was so hard to watch, I just couldn't stop crying I was so damn angry. I watched this movie twice in cinemas and I cried both times with that scene, horrible. Even a dude that was sitting next to me asked me if I was okay😅
I watched this movie twice in theaters, both times in 3D. Because the first time I watched it in 3D, it was so beautiful and captivating, I had to experience it again.
Oak im so sorry you didn't get to see this in the cinema. I REALLY hope you get too, especially in 3D. I love the Avatar films. They are so beautiful and so immersive. Avatar was my Dad's favourite film and he died unexpectedly just before this one was released. It breaks my heart that he didn't get to see it because he would have been absolutely blown away and filled with joy by it❤️
Everything James Cameron touches turns to gold….I enjoyed this film more than the original andirons didn’t feel like 3 hours to me……..I can’t wait till Avatar 3
I saw this opening day in IMAX 3D and it blew me out of the water (no pun intended). It's a visual masterpiece and the blending of live action with performance captured CG felt like some voodoo magic it's that good.
And Lo'ak was trying to live up to the perfect standard Neteyam set, who in turn was trying to live up to Jake. In the End, Jake consistently pushing Neteyam into the role of the golden child and co-parent is what cost him his life. From a psychological perspective, Lo'ak was just trying his best to get his father's attention and praise just as he does with Neteyam. So he makes rash, irrational decisions. On top, Jake was seen as this great brave warrior, so both his sons tried doing exactly that. Though they were also just trying to save Spider because he's their friend.
I love this movie so much 💖 thank u guys! Neteyam's death hits hard 😭😭😭😭 I miss him and I never live with him.. I can't imagine the pain of loses a son. Poor Neytiri 😭😭😭😫
I am still totally heartbroken everytime i see the tulkan hunting scenes 😢 why is our species just so awful… humans would 100% take over another planet and kill everything, ruin everything; even peaceful sentient creatures 🙁 we never seem to evolve. I remember when the first movie came out, some people became so depressed, some even hurt themselves. i think seeing the Na’vi people and how they live in harmony and balance with their world, their spiritual connections, the kind of simple, beautiful lives they generally lead, is why so many people fell in love with the movies. People wished that our world could be like that (that humans were not so sh*tty!)
This movie is absolutely phenomenal in theaters. I honestly don't know if I would want to rewatch it on a tiny, puny screen. These movies are made for theaters, because it immerses you in the world so much. If I'm watching it on a smaller screen in the comfort of my own home, it'll just be another movie, not an experience. I've seen this movie 3 times in theaters, and it's so good!
@@roni2971 A movie ticket is $12. Apple tech is like $4,000. I'll stick with the theater experience, even if it means seeing a movie in theaters once and then never seeing it again.
If you guys can find a theater still screening this in 3D then i highly recommend watchung it. I watched this in 3D nine times and I loved every single viewing! I've watched it a further 4 times since it began streaming. Always amazed at the world building imagination of James Cameron. He might not write the best scripts but he sure knows how to tell a story. What really blew me away the first few times I watched this is just how amazing the CGI water looks. I really cannot wait until Avatar 3 is released in December of next year. The original was re-released 2 months before this one was released and I watched that again 2 twice after watching it 10 times when it came out. Definitely recommend you guys watch Avatar 3 in 3D on the biggest screen you can find when it comes out next year. You'll be absolutely amazed at the difference watching these Avatar movies in 3D. It loses its impact in standard 2D screens. Still looks good but not as great and amazing as the 3D format it was filmed in and intended to be viewed in.
I saw this for this first time in 4D and I had never seen the first one. Basically my mind was blown. The smells, the wind the movement in the seats with the action. So epic.
Neutering hiss at quaritch was my favorite scene right there I mean the anger, the hate she felt. This is why Zoe Saldanã is my favorite actress I mean her acting top tier.
They actually did have this movie in 3D in the theatre. It was very cool when they were underwater, cause the particles, and bubbles would come out of the screen. It also gave a lot more dimension to the underwater world as well, which made it feel a lot bigger!
When Appleton said the sinking ship reminds him of Titanic, you guys have to know that the cast of Ronal (the pregnant queen) is Kate Winslet, yeah it's her 😅 Kate (Rose in Titanic) is Ronal in Avatar 😅😅😅
Havent seen a comment on it and maybe its just my interpretation but the shot where the poacher gets his arm caught and eventually ripped from him is payback for Payakan losing his fin
Probably my favorite Blockbuster in the last 10 years. This was the first time in my life I have ever watched a movie 2 times in theaters and I loved every second of it ^^
I was too young to see the original in theater, but my mom bought avatar on DVD and as a kid we would always watch it as a family. When avatar 2 came out my mom and my brother were super excited, and we saw it in 3-D and it was the most amazing experience.
I really hope the next movie answers all/ most of the questions raised by this movie, like what happened to the forest people when they left, if the marine biologist survived, maybe an explanation of where the sea people army went during the eclipse/boat sinking. I'm sure they'll cover what they specifically set up, like developing relations with characters and kiri's situation but yeah. Currently feels like a lot either got cut or just was never tied up properly (and it being basically a series pilot I get it, but I still worry for plot holes). Personally also wish we'd gotten to see some more gnarly deep sea creatures and not just shallow coral sea stuff but oh well.
I saw this with the real motion chairs, so all the water scene's you were swaying with the way they are swimming and with camera movement, it was SO immersive, loved it.
Not only did they do 3D for this one, but Cameron revolutionized the tech - AGAIN. This was available in theaters in Dolby Cinema 3D, which is the single most mind-blowing theatrical experience I've ever had. I went multiple times.
I saw this three times in Imax 3D, it was mesmerising. Pandora never looked more beautiful. Zoe Saldana was amazing, as were all of the artists involved. Disney/Marvel need to up their game.
I didn't think it was possible to outdo the first one, story wise, but I was wrong. My heart broke when the oldest son died. I felt that, as a mother of a young man. Kiri intrigues me. I hope we figure out who her father is. Or maybe it's supposed to be miracle birth, conceived through Eywa when they tried to get Grace to switch to her avatar body after she was shot.
My theory was that Kiri is the reincarnation of Eywa that’s why she’s so connected to nature and can easily adapt to it and I think she may be the one to bring Nateyam back in the next movie but I’m probably wrong
I have to go out and do errands. But there is an air health warning here in NYC due to the fires those poor folks up in Canada are dealing with, so I'm gonna stay in and watch this with you folks instead. Be well everyone!
The family/world building and calm scenes were the best part of this movie for me. I would love an avatar movie with no conflict at all, wouldn't get bored at all like some people do. The action is still appreciated tho! 55:03 loved your enthusiasm guys lol
If there's still any chance to find a way to watch it in 3D, guys, please do it! I left the theatre with the same mindblown emotions as it was in 2009 when the 1st one came out. The cinematography in 3D is out of this world istg! Amazing, beautiful, heartbreaking movie. 💙 I bet James Cameron will organize another world wide watch as it was with part 1. Just amazing! Well, at least Avatar 3 is about to come out in a year but not in 12 another years, this makes me very happy!
Avatar 3 release 2024 December 20: James Cameroon for Avatar 2 the way of water was actually filmed underwater in real life the reason it took so long to release was the technology it had to get advanced so that james could film underwater.
1:05:40 "Lets take some of that drama with Leo and Kate and put it in here"......Oak. Funny thing is that Kate is in this movie. Shes the pregnant woman, the war chiefs wife.....LOOOL
I went to watch this movie in 3d and it was breathtaking. The 3d was also quite subtle but very common allowing you to become completely involved. There were times that I forgot I was even watching a movie because of how beautiful and real it felt!
Things to note: - Avatar: The Way of Water has been split into two films. Part two coming December of 2024. - Tuk (Youngest Daughter) and Nateyam (Oldest Son) both have only three fingers one thumb, four toes and no eyebrows. This makes them more "true" Na'vi than Lo'ak (Youngest Son) and Kiri (Adopted oldest daughter). - Lo'ak and Kiri both have four fingers and one thumb just like humans and Jake (father). Hence why they are targeted by the other Na'vi from the Metkayina (Water) clan - "Demon Blood". - Avatar: The Way of Water is the 3rd highest grossing movie of all time right behind Avengers: End Game. Making over $2.3 billion dollars! - James Cameron developed new underwater cameras to film the underwater sequence in the film. - James Cameron now has three of the four highest grossing movies of all time. 1. (Avatar - $2.9 Billion) 3. (Avatar: The Way of Water - $2.3 Billion) 4. Titanic - $2.2 Billion). I saw Avatar: They Way of Water eight times in IMAX 3D! It was an incredible experience! Having seeing Avatar (2009) 26 times in IMAX 3D, it was a joy to be back on Pandora. Looking forward to the next film in 2024!
The Way Of Water has not been split into two films. That's a misinterpretation of what Cameron has said. He just moved one story line that had originally been in the script for TWOW to the third film, because it worked better there.
Watched this in 3D, didn't have any high expectations, because it's been so long and man, was it worth it! Absolutely loved the colours and that we were able to discover a lot more of Pandora. The scene where Naytiri cries out for her son and the end scene get me every time. ❤
Glad you liked it, great reaction. Some of my thoughts -About the military dad. I kinda understand why he acted that way. They were hunted, he had to keep his kuds under control, it was life or death so he acted the best way he knew how to protect them. Notice at the start how relaxed he was before the sky people came. -Some hypothedize that the bad guy will have a refemption ark. I will hate it if that happens. I want him dead -It is confirmed that avatar 3 will feature an aggressive race if navi -It seems that the kids, mostly Loak and Kiri as set up to be the main characters if the next movies, and kiri's connection to the goddess will be more explored (hypothesy is that he "dad"" is the goddess herself, Grace's avatar became pregnant from the goddess when she connected to her at the end of her life -avatar 3 is already in the works -about the story not being ground-breaking: I heard a saying that all stories have already been told, it's the way you say it that matters. - about not harvesting the entire way: It is done in real life too. Look at elephants and rhinos. butchered only for their tusks and horns
This is probably my favorite movie. The visuals, the characters, the story, the WORLD BUILDING??? Plus, as a Polynesian and Native American guy, representation of both my cultures in one beautiful movie almost made me cry
I appreciate your sacrifice not seeing it in IMAX as I did, but it's immensely satisfying to watch your first reactions rather than a review. Awesome movie and fantastic reaction.
I understand that mother beast mode... And Kiri has no father she has essentially two mothers Grace and the great mother Eywa that's why she's able to connect with animals and the forest!! Just like Anakin Skywalker was allegedly conceived by the force itself and it's midichlorians!!! In the next avatar somehow they end up having to visit earth I love these movies!! And Dave saying I don't think you bird can swim 😂
1:17:50 You can find some really good mini documentaries on the filming of the movie and how they made all the water scenes as realistic as possible. Many massive tanks and optics illusions. It’s very cool!
Star Wars, Jurassic Park, The Matrix, Avatar, Inception and Avatar 2. Nothing has blown my mind like these. The new Dune and Maverick are high qualifiers.
I wholeheartedly recommend the 3D IMAX release of this movie - one of the most stunning things I've seen in a cinema. The film itself is not for everyone, but few can deny the visual realisation.
I don't think I ever cryed as much over a animated creature like I did over the tulkun mother. 😢 Not even Neyteyems dead seemed so bad to me. I found your channel a few weeks ago and I really like your content. Greetings from Germany
Really looking forward for when you guys get to Avatar The Legend of Korra. The show is actually referred to by fans as Avatar The Legend of Korra similar to Avatar The Last Airbender but the reason it's not called that in promo is due to rights issues because of the James Cameron avatar film that had come out.
I'm so happy that I got to see this in the theater because it was EPIC! Like the first one, it didn't disappoint! James Cameron knows how to keep us in awe for sure! ❤❤❤
The first movie was in 2154. Also, Ronal, the Tsahìk and wife of tribe leader, Tonowari, is Kate Winslet. I probably would have never of known if I hadn't watched all the behind the scenes and such.
Nobody ever notices his eyes at the end changed from yellow (original color from original tribe) to pink (water people). It means they have adapted. Food for thought. Anxious for Avatar 3, 4 & 5 per director Cameron’s interview!! So excited! I hope I live to see at least Avatar 3. Holding on with hope!

Man, I loved it too. I watched it with my brother, and I didn't understand his dissatisfaction with the film.

I've cried each time uve rewatched it
ik I felt like it was so heartbreaking and unfair...
Neyteyam was rly a relatable character for me. Father died when i was 6 so had always had to be the semi dad and take care and responsability… rip Neyteyam. Can’t wait for Avatar 3!
Neteyam was my favorite, I'm really sad he died, I'm bummed that his death seemed like it was just for the character development of Lo'ak
The whole Spider and Quarritch situation actually makes sense when you realize that they actually spent months together between when he was captured and when they found the Sullys. It was cut from the film for time
Ya, this wasn't days. The gestating belly of Ronal marked the passage of time.
The scream of a mother who just lost his son gave me chills in the cinema. I was wow! Then she was not just pissed. She was on blood mode…
her son bro, her.
Zoe Saldaña acting always give me chills, she is so amazing
Facts
Ya, I suspect she is the union of Eywa & Grace manifested into Na'vi form.
During that attempt at the transfer, Grace's energy could have been given back to a new life
She’s like Jesus in a way
@@Zombina638 yeah, you could say so! 😁
Agree with the reincarnation thing. She is def Eywa's child
1:10:53 what a scene. Makes it clear why they fought to save those sites. Being able to see your child and loved ones after they pass, what a concept.
I cried so many times in this movie.. the hunting of the Tulkun was the breaking point for me.
@@immortalset6 I can't hear any animal make noises like that and feel ok... you are definitely not alone
It's so easy to forget during the Na'vi only scenes just how big they are until you see them grab a human by the head with a hand that's bigger that the entire human head or shoot them with an arrow that's the size of an entire human body (and that's not even considering the extremely potent poison they coat the arrows in...)
Very true. The Na'vi are 9 - 10 ft tall
I lost it when Mason Quinn said "STAY IN THE HOUSE CARLLLL!!" 😂😂 I literally bust out laughing
😂😂😂
I love this movie so much. It was so visually beautiful. 🥰 this world is one of my favorites. Can’t wait to see what they do with the next one.
It was so well done
We gonna have to wait for another 13 years? I wonder but honestly Idk how much can the technology improve.
It will be tough trying to top this one...visually, anyway.
@@boomeister2 Yeah the visuals arent getting topped but im hoping the story will be better.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks that seeing the arm flying on the sky in 3D was freaking epic!
My cinema cheered!
Yesss a pure poetic justice. Being that he was the reason Payakan lost his fin
Great reaction! I love that you all kept mentioning Titanic, because Kate Winslet who played Rose , plays Ronal and does an amazing job!!
I watched the sequel in theaters multiple times and it hit every time. 10/10 movie
Yeah, I regret not seeing it in 3D, but the glasses give me huge headaches
@@KiRiTO72987the high frame rate in Dolby messed me up the first time, came out with a crazy headache. But it didn’t stop me from returning for a second time
😂😂 and surprisingly I didn’t get a headache the second time.
@Roni yeah a lot of people say that idk for me it never seems to lessenmight just be that I do t go out to movies enough to get used to it
speak for yourself. some of us like first time reactions not commentaries
A life for a life
The song that Neytiri sang is so beautiful :,) I'm always in tears whenever I hear it and if you look at the lyrics, it is very beautiful.
3:44
Oak: Imagine how long it's gonna take to set-up a permiter
Ryan George, recording a pitch meeting: Actually it's gonna be super easy, barely an inconvenience
24:53 yes! James Cameron brought in someone to create the underwater sign language! They mention it in the behind the scenes documentary
58:55 the total and utter satisfaction of this moment is unmatched 😂😂😂 It was a great distraction from ugly crying my way through this movie
@@Kingdom_Of_Dreams He's basically the same person. Just up to the point they copied his mind.
@@Ultimaniacx4 well it’s clear in the comics that quaritch did not care about spider…he wasn’t even there during his birth.
fun- ish fact: they had to set up help lines for people depressed to go back to the real world after watching the first movie, it was that visually stunning!
I heard they came up with an actual medical term for is. PADS. Post Avatar Depression Syndrome
It was so funny when you said that it was like Titanic when actually Ronal is played by the one and only Kate Winslet 😁 James Cameron told her that she was going back to the water but in a different way.
I also hope that in the next sequels to come that we don't lose anymore of the Sully family! Losing Neteyam was heartbreaking enough! 😢😢😢
It's *so* glaringly obvious that Quaritch is being set up for a redemption arc, and I'm here for it.
@haeataanaru8462agreed
Haha I'm sure a few others thought the same. 🤜🤛 Great work on the edit!
@@BaddMedicine 🙏👊
The tulkun took his arm, just like they took his fin
YEEESSS, ever since I saw the reaction to 2009's avatar I've been waiting for the reaction to the second movie,I love your reactions ❤
…. So you DID connect.
@@alyssatheexcellent yes, with the tulkun scene, not the rest
I asked for the day off at work 😂
Neteyam was my favorite character. I feel like Lo’ak was always putting him in bad situations and ended up costing him.
U don’t even know what loak is going through. Don’t bash him when u can’t even understand both sides of the situation.
@@strawberryfox8819Thank you, honestly. I’ve seen so much Lo’ak bashing, it’s not even funny.
@@Zombina638 Doesn't mean he wasn't making stupid decisions that ended up with his brother dying.
@@Schnipps dont care. Plus ur not logical so shush kid
Right!! It would have been better if we all were wiped out of the earth during the time god flood us. We are so cruel!
true humans are so destructive. We see something unique and special, and first thought is to destroy and conquer instead of preserve
It’s absolutely a commentary on whaling. The calf/mother strategy is one whaling ships use irl. It’s heartbreaking.
Apples new Vision pro will let you watch movies in 3D on a 100 inch screen, that might be the way to go.
28:18 yes, they did. It was the best experience!! It was magical 😍
When Appleton said the sinking ship reminds him of Titanic, you guys have to know that the cast of Ronal (the pregnant queen) is Kate Winslet, yeah it's her 😅
Kate (Rose in Titanic) is Ronal in Avatar 😅😅😅
If no one has tell you before, Sigourney Weaver not only give the voice to Kiri, but she did the Motion Capture for the character.
Havent seen a comment on it and maybe its just my interpretation but the shot where the poacher gets his arm caught and eventually ripped from him is payback for Payakan losing his fin
We watched this in 3D. I swear I could almost touch the fishes that swim by
Probably my favorite Blockbuster in the last 10 years. This was the first time in my life I have ever watched a movie 2 times in theaters and I loved every second of it ^^
They did do this movie in 3D, for some places at least. I saw it in 3D and it was amazing!
Hi from NYS! Doing the same thing rn
Dang this smoke has been messing with my throat, stinging my eyes and giving me a headache 😷
Stay safe out there!

That ending had me tearing up in the cinema, powerful stuff
I went to watch this movie in 3d and it was breathtaking. The 3d was also quite subtle but very common allowing you to become completely involved. There were times that I forgot I was even watching a movie because of how beautiful and real it felt!
Things to note:
- Avatar: The Way of Water has been split into two films.
Some of my thoughts
-About the military dad.
I want him dead
-It is confirmed that avatar 3 will feature an aggressive race if navi
-It seems that the kids, mostly Loak and Kiri as set up to be the main characters if the next movies, and kiri's connection to the goddess will be more explored (hypothesy is that he "dad"" is the goddess herself, Grace's avatar became pregnant from the goddess when she connected to her at the end of her life
-avatar 3 is already in the works
-about the story not being ground-breaking: I heard a saying that all stories have already been told, it's the way you say it that matters.
And Dave saying I don't think you bird can swim 😂
cried the first time after watching the flashback scene of Jake at the end and I cried all over again with just watching a reaction😭😭
1:17:50 You can find some really good mini documentaries on the filming of the movie and how they made all the water scenes as realistic as possible. Many massive tanks and optics illusions. It’s very cool!
I watched this the same day that you uploaded this and didn't realize till yesterday.
Jake telling Loak 'I see you' 😭😭
The first movie was in 2154. Also, Ronal, the Tsahìk and wife of tribe leader, Tonowari, is Kate Winslet. I probably would have never of known if I hadn't watched all the behind the scenes and such.
Damn, the Oak cutting throat on the Answer. "Thats like basic elementary school science there bud." 😂😂
great reaction! this movie was so good in 3D, felt like you were in the waterworld with them
I've watched this for 3 times in theater. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING ❤ tnx for your reaction❤
Spider had to either go along with Quaritch, or go back and be tortured. Keep in mind this occurred over months, not days.
i truly didn’t think i would be balling my eyes out watching an avatar movie and i
here i am
I love how you’re still bringing up Harry Potter!! Just spent the weekend binge watching your potter reactions 💙💙💙
19:28 "They don't have ships or subs or?"
If only that were true 🥲
An amazing reaction! So thankful you waited to watch it with us
Nobody ever notices his eyes at the end changed from yellow (original color from original tribe) to pink (water people). It means they have adapted. Food for thought. Anxious for Avatar 3, 4 & 5 per director Cameron’s interview!! So excited! I hope I live to see at least Avatar 3. Holding on with hope!
Cliff Curtis played the chief of the water people. He's been in all sorts of stuff. Once you see him, you'll be like, oh, THAT guy!
